Bo beau kitchen + roof tap paint event
    Mo C.

It was a fun event when we went in long beach to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. It was on the rooftop. When you come in you get your supplies. He goes step by step on what to do. He was a nice guy with a positive attitude. There was a lot of people so it was hard at times when you had a question or needed help. The servers there were nice. We all had a good time. It was a relaxing environment. We went as a group. It was organized though. There was enough seats and supplies for everyone. If you needed more paint you just had to ask. I would love to do it again.

Paint nite is so much fun!! I have always been horrible at drawing. I can't even draw a nice stick figure picture, so doing a painting... uhm, I'm scared! Lol I always start out painting like a disaster and always about to cry when I mess up... literally! Haha A group of us did Paint Nite at Little Maggiano's of Italy at the Grove. It was set up outside with the view of their Garden. The instructor starts you off and step by step guides you with directions as you paint each theme/ item. There are staffs that walk around looking at how we are doing. I messed up on the cherry blossom tree I was doing but the staff gave me great instructions to go make and make the tree trunk thicker so it will balance out. It worked!! At the end, my painting turned out much better than I expected and I still couldn't get over, with my lame drawing skills that my painting came out looking pretty good! Lol My only complaint is that try to keep up the speed with them because I guess with their time limit if you fall behind, they start cleaning up and putting their stuff away whether you are done or not. No parking validation for Maggiano's of Little Italy.

    Fun instructors!!

Four Stars for Paint Nite Los Angeles! My friend purchased two tickets on Groupon (for the Paint Nite LA. Regularly $45 per person, Groupon specials make it $22 per person. A deal and worth the money (even at it's regular price). It was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel (at the same time there were two other very big events going on). The concept is simple - you set up about 40 easels with blank canvases, provide your guests with aprons, two paint brushes, a cup of water, and a plate of 5 colors (Black, white, red, blue, yellow). This is a great way to meet people and/or to bring a group of your friends to just relax. The night starts off with the instructor giving general guidelines about what is to be expected during the evening. Our instructor was very knowledgable, yet layed back and gave us room to create! The painting was the trees with blue and purple leafs. Looks pretty easy to do, but was kind of hard-ish. The instructor took a three step approach with us - 1) telling us about the painting process, 2) teaching us how to draw the tree, and 3) teaching us how to draw the leafs. The rest was up to us. There were what looked like batchelorette parties, ladies night out, couples night out, etc. Everyone was super friendly and complimentary to each other's paintings, despite some of them (especially mine) were hideous! The Beverly Hilton served drink beverages and appetizers as part of the evening. The liquor gave us all the liquid courage to be creative. My friend and I purchased one glass of Ecco Chardonnay ($12/glass), fried calamari ($18) and a cheese and fruit platter ($18). My glass of sparkling water cost $6. After adding an approximate 18% tip, we walked away with a bill of close to $60. A bit expensive, but the server worked really hard and she deserved her tips! The staff hosted a raffle giveaway of $1 per ticket. I put in $5 worth of tickets, in hopes that the extra money was going to be extra tips for the two teachers. WE WON! I walked away with one free additional lesson and a original painting by one of the teachers! The instructors also put a free lesson ticket under the seats of two students. My friend WON! Product Grade (painting, boards, etc): B+ Service Grade (teachers and support staff): B+ Worth the Money Grade: A- Overall Impression: B+

Paint Nite. I have seen several friends post pictures of their gatherings with friends at different painting companies but with the same concept. I already told myself that it was not for me. I stink at painting, or with most crafts and arts I attempt I end up hating how I did and I stop halfway through, or stop right after I finish. At a previous Yelp event one of my friends mentioned that she was joining another Yelper with a "drink and paint" event. It sounded interesting even though I rarely drink and again I suck at painting. When I found out that two of my favorite Yelpers were going, I had to join. We purchased a Groupon to get it at $25 instead of $45, and booked our spot for that particular event at the Naples restaurant at Downtown Disney. Upon arrival, I went upstairs where our event had its own room and section, besides four or five booths on one end by themselves. It is quite a deal if you get it at the discounted price. They provide the apron, the paint brushes, the paints, water, etc. Your canvas and stand are there waiting as well, and of course, you keep your canvas when you are done. They have one or two displays of what you will be painting in your sight so that you have an idea of what you are painting. Then they will have a blank one that they paint with you and instruct you on how to do it - what paint colors, what techniques, etc. You are allowed to drink so you must be of legal age to attend this event, and drinks are additional cost and to the restaurant. There were five of us Yelpers at the first event that I attended, and I had a blast and ended up enjoying myself and my end result. I also met new Yelpers. It seemed decent to me for a first time painter who knew next to nothing. I was hooked and I was ready to go back! The cool part is after doing the whole Groupon thing, it seems that every time you attend one of their events that they email you a code the next day to get that same discount on a future event without having to go through Groupon. I booked my second one with one of my favorite Yelpers. We attended our second event just six days later at a Macaroni Grill in Cerritos. I was not nearly as pleased with the seating situation but it will do. It was definitely much more cramped and not as many people fit into this one. I felt like a sardine but I still had fun. The waitress at this one forgot my iced tea, but thankfully my buddy asked another waitress while she placed her order for an iced tea and an appetizer. We were squished but we dealt with it and had a blast anyways. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my painting this time. No fault of theirs, just me not doing stuff the way I should, or just not figuring out the techniques this time for some reason. I did not let that deter me though. I am new to this and should only improve. Once again we got another code to get the same discount, $20 off. I already signed up for my third event. They have many events in Los Angeles, but they also hold a lot of events in Fullerton, Cerritos, Costa Mesa, Buena Park, Newport Beach, and Anaheim. I will be scoping for more in these areas. This is definitely a cool company and one friend said that it was the best paint night type company that they have dealt with. I think I will continue to go to these events.

Thank you Paint Nite for an enjoyable Girls Night Out with my lovelies: Teresa C, Avina G, Esther K and Jocelyn C. We discovered a deal for Paint Nite on Groupon for $25/person (regular price: $45). Our meet up spot was actually at Avila's in Newport Beach, but the event page on facebook correlates with Paint Nite LA so I figure this is the appropriate place for this review. The spot that was set up for us in Avila's was the outdoor area. It was a bit cramped and the weather was chilly on this particular night. Although it was fun, our instructor was on the quiet side and it was difficult to hear her instruction (or rather the lack of instructions). I understand that she wanted us to be creative with our artwork... but even when I asked for instruction on how to make certain stokes or at dimension to my painting, she was very vague. Most of her answers were redundantly, "just try different strokes and you can always paint over it when it dries if you don't like it." Also, I felt like they were a bit under supplied. We needed yellow for our painting and we were given very little due to their lack of the yellow paint. I feel like more yellow would have made my background lovelier. To be fair though, I didn't hate my painting. I can't exactly say I loved it. But I definitely don't hate it. After we were all done the event coordinator took pictures of everyone with the paintings and it was uploaded onto their facebook page promptly by the next morning. I definitely appreciated that!! Maybe I would find the experience more pleasant with a different instructor or at a different location. I am definitely interested in another Paint Nite with my friends if there is a promotion going on. It was fun :)

Paint Nite is hosting painting class at El Torito, Woodland Hills. The Service: There are two servers taking care Paint Nite students. They are very attentive. Separate checks are okay. The Painting Class: Besides the instructor, there is one assistant helping to refill supply. Love the location because El Torito offers a private room just for the class. Can fit in 50 students. Great lighting!! Away from the restaurant crowd so not noisy at all. The Parking: Easy parking. Big parking lot next to the restaurant, sharing with other retail stores. (free)

seriously... worse painting experience ever. I would go somewhere else. i have been to SEVERAL paint n sip, and this one is by far the worse. this business doesn't have a "studio". they tend to just move around in restaurant and bars. so what's wrong u asked? 1. instructors : she was sooo busy doing advertisements that she didn't bother spending time instructing... she sounded more like a sales person. 2. when we arrived, the restaurant was dark and loud - poor lightening, which lead to my poor painting... my Eiffel tower looks like it's about to collapse any minute, colors were completely off, couldn't even tell from blue to black. i had to use my iphone flashlight in one hand while paint with the other to even slightly see what/where i am painting. 3. tips - instructors also ask for tips at the end. i thought they get paid for this? and it's not even a one to one service... which i don't mind giving if it is. Overall, I would never ever be using paint nite again for another paint n sip. sorry.

**NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ARTISTS** Bought a groupon deal for $25 (originally $45) for a friend's birthday. A cute concept for those looking to try new things, spend time with friends and MAYBE explore or awaken their creative side. This is similar to "paint by numbers" for adults, with very basic water-based colors. There is a simple stylized painting for everyone to follow, guided by an instructor. **IF YOU'RE AN ARTIST, THIS IS SLOOOOOOOOW*** Materials given are on the cheap side (paper plates for paints and old used up brushes dipped in a bucket of dirty water). But then again, these aren't for serious artists. There were a couple of people asking for more paint but the assistant was resistant....not sure if there is a rule to use what we have on the plate OR they're trying to cost reduce. Two older women sat next to me. They were drunk and abnoxious and was a HUGE distraction the entire time. Pls try to get here early so you can choose where and who you want to sit with. **MAKE SURE TO REGISTER ONLINE IF YOU BOUGHT THE GROUPON DEAL** I did not and didn't make the guest list for that event. However I'm giving them 3-stars because both the assistant and the instructor accomodated and made more space so that I can participate. The venue was at Amalifi Restorante & Bar in WeHo. Had a great spaghetti bolognese and a glass of moscato. Both were excellent. But honestly I would not do this again. Now what am I gonna do with this painting that I did????

I went with a friend to the El Mariachi Mexican Grill with Yaymaker for my first ever Paint Nite. I had always wanted to try it and with a discount code they offered through Groupon it was reasonably priced (I forget exactly how much but maybe around $25). There were about 15 of us painters present and while I did not purchase anything to drink there, I still had a great time. I painted simple succulents and the teacher was gracious and patient with us. I have also had another experience with Yaymaker while I was on vaca in Temecula - they canceled on me which was frustrating but they responded to my email quickly to refund me instead of giving me online credit which I was grateful for. I would recommend Yaymaker for your next outing/event! Have fun!

My friend and I attended a Paint Nite at Orange Coast Winery in Newport Beach. Our teachers were Corrine and John, and they were wonderful. The class was super fun, the time flew by, and the painting was pretty easy considering we both suck at art and it looked like it would be complicated! We chose a wine glass painting and I know we were both intimated and figured out paintings would come out awful. Thanks to Corinne and John's teaching styles and assistance, I think both of our paintings turned out great! The class was supposed to be 2 hours but ended up running about 30 minutes over. I liked that they didn't rush us and they made the class fun by playing great music throughout. Since we were at a winery, we were able to purchase wine and some flatbread for dinner. I know we will attend another class in the future. This was a birthday gift from my friend, and I think it would be a great gift for anybody. Paint Nite was a really fun thing to do after work, and I hope we can sign up for another one soon!

I loved my experience at paint nite! Although I participated in one in Laguna Niguel, I didn't see any other yelp listings close to that so I thought I would just share my experience here. Yesterday my friend and I arrived at Chaparosa Grill 6:50, 10 minutes before our scheduled paint time. A lot of the canvases had been put down already but we managed to find a good spot where we could see the painter well. When we first arrived we saw that we were sitting outside, but with heat lamps!! It was pretty chilly outside so I was happy about that, and especially because we didn't even need sweaters (yes. It was that warm!!) We checked out the restaurant menu to see if we wanted anything to eat/drink, but unfortunately the happy hour menu was off limits in the paint room. The painter and her assistant were super friendly! I believe we had a lady named Corinne. She went slow enough and explained all her strokes. I couldn't believe I painted what I did! I have barely any artistic talent so it was great to see that mine didn't turn out totally horrific.. Haha! You only get your primary colors (blue, red, yellow) black and white, one fat brush and one skinny brush. It was fun mixing the paints to get the specific color I wanted! Most people are drinking wine or cocktails which makes it fun. I'm not sure if my artistic ability would hold up to alcohol! Will DEFINITELY be doing another paint nite in the future--I can't wait!! Everyone's finished outcomes were amazing, but unique to each person!

It was my first time ever attending and plant night and it was so much fun. My coworkers and I attended this event as just a random get together to destress. Purchasing tickets: - discount tickets thru Groupon - used the discount ticket to go thru their website and paid the differences **overall saved about $11 At Slater's we were seated on the of the restaurant, there was about?? maybe 30 attendees. Upon arriving, we would check in, given an apron, then picked our container. While we were sitting and waiting, we were given the happy hour menu, to order drinks and food. Then we were able to start planting, the instructor was very informative, patience and nice. She gave us some tips and tricks on how to take care of our plants. Everyone in our group left as happy campers, very happy with our own plant. I highly recommend doing plant nite with coworkers, such a cool way to bounce and relax. Parking - usual parking in Pasadena Price - reasonable Instructor - ehh, I forgot her name, but super friendly and nice

For what it's worth, I quite enjoyed Plant Nite. However, I do have to say, in my opinion, the price point is too high, especially since food/drinks aren't included in the price. I was browsing around and stumbled upon a Groupon for this event. So I texted one of my best friends and she said it looked like fun. I bought the Groupon, not realizing that the Groupon code limited you to only 4 Plant Nite locations and it didn't cover the cost of the materials, which is an extra $14. So total, including groupon, I paid almost $40 for this event. I mean it's still cheaper than what it would have cost me if I bought it directly from the site, but still it's pretty pricey. We arrived early because we wanted to grab some drinks and food. Luckily the venue we were at was doing 2 for 1 drinks till 8. The event itself started at 7 and went on for about an hour and a half. Our instructor was awesome, fun and super informative. She came around with trays of succulents for each table and you grab the ones that you like, if there are any leftover the tray goes to another table and so on till every has 3 plants. Then it's time to plant, you're given a few things to help you plant, decorative rocks, gravel and there's contests so you can win some other decorative accessories. I mean, I had fun and I would recommend it, if you had the funds to blow. I feel like I have a way better chance of keeping a plant then I would a painting. My plants are currently sitting on a small side table in my room, where as I don't even know where my paint night paintings are. Somewhere in storage?

We merely went to someone's private house, cooked in her kitchen with her, and ate the meal. I was disappointed that it wasn't in a professional kitchen with other students. We were the only students tonight which was kind of nice, but also not so, because after we ate, we felt rushed to leave the house. The food we made was good though for the most part. The appetizer was okay, but not something I would make on my own as it consisted of baking a whole wheel of camembert cheese and topping it with apples sauteed in butter and sugar. It was good though, but not something we would make. Also, the dessert was not something we would make on our own either. We peeled two pears and soaked them in a whole bottle of red wine. My husband and I both felt that it was a waste of a bottle of wine as when you finish cooking it, you just throw away the rest of the wine. The main meal was chicken sauteed in butter and olive oil first then baked in a caste iron skillet. The chicken could have been cooked longer as it wasn't well cooked and kind of raw in my opinion. My husband who is a very picky eater actually liked it and said it was good, but I didn't think it was cooked well enough for my tastes. The leek sauce was nice and the ratatouille was okay, but I also felt the eggplant could have been cooked longer. Again, this was a very expensive experience for what it was. I think I paid about $270 for the both of us together, almost $300. I feel we could have just sat down at a really nice restaurant and ordered top of the notch steak and have had money left over. In any case, we've been wanting to take a cooking class together for a while, so we have that checked off our list. I just would not do this again with this company, with that chef, or recommend anyone else to waste their money doing it either.

My fiancée and I had an amazing experience at the blending lab…read more It was clear to us that the owners are truly passionate about their business. I had reached out via email to inquire about their late policy due to our work schedules (I wanted to try to schedule the Valentine's Day booking but felt like it would be too late). Magdalena, one of the owners, had got back to me and responded that they were flexible and recommended the booking for the day after if it would better accommodate our schedules and that the Valentine's Day snack would be available to purchase, which was very reassuring for me. Upon our arrival, not only did they remember me from our one email communication, they had already set aside the Valentine's Day snacks for us. Very thoughtful! The wine selections were either for red or white for blending and cause my fiancée and I wanted to try the best of both worlds (we both had selected white initially), they were able to accommodate the change with no hesitation. Our instructor, Dave, was amazing and the guided class was full of fun information and neat anecdotes. The guided class was very helpful in identifying things to look for in wine which can contribute to certain attributes, like taste, sweetness and such. Very light-hearted and, again, an amazing experience. Highly recommend for a date night or those who just want to learn more about wine. Oh and they also let you cork your own bottle!

My friend is a member of their Wine Club and always speaks so highly of it. When visiting LA…read morerecently I had the opportunity to come visit with her. We were treated so nicely and it was great to taste their wines and learn about their business. The location is very accessible and it was a great setup to enjoy wine with friends. I loved the passion Chris has when he speaks about the wines. I can't wait to go back and try more when I am in the area.
