Came during the weekday and enjoyed my time With Risa and Romi who were onsite. They had everything set up and were very helpful to creation of the project. I love the ambiance of the studio with all the future pieces I can do. If you haven't been, it's a MUST! read more

Love fire glass studio! First my daughter brought here as a gift for Mother's Day! Had so much I later on brought my niece. It's actually a stress reliever away from tv and calls. Everyone was so helpful and they gave ideas. They showed us how to use things so we won't get injured. Overall, I highly recommend and will return! read more

Got a few hours to spare? Get creative at Fire Glass Studio! They offer beginner classes where you can create a glass masterpiece! We took advantage of a Groupon deal for 2 people. I made a test tube vase holder and my young son made 2 sun catchers. A week later they are fused and ready to pick up. It was a great time. Thanks Michal!! read more

I took a class here with my friend, she reserved spots for us in advance (it was my birthday gift!). We're both typically artsy people and figured it would be our cup of tea. It had its challenges but was so fun. Everyone gets seated at a large working bench and given tools to work with as well as the materials needed to bond your glass to. The instructor goes over directions and explains the methods of melting the glass at the beginning of the workshop. There are trays of colorful glass pieces to choose from that you cut into smaller squares or triangles (more elaborate designs are for more advanced students) and you glue the designs onto a clear glass however you'd like. Once that's done, you write your contact info on a sheet and the instructor asks you how you'd like the design fused (the design edges soften and melt closer together, the hotter the temp). You can then pick up your finished project a week later. There are several projects and methods but this review is specifically for a plate with slightly curved edges. I would definitely do this again now that I know the process. It was challenging to come up with a design and immediately start working, so it would help to have a basic idea of what you'd like your design to look like before you begin gluing. I would definitely recommend trying any of the beginner workshops! read more

Michal is the absolute best!! I booked a 2-hour private event at Fire Glass Studios this weekend for a group of 9 people to celebrate a friend and we all had so much fun! Our workstations were all set up when we arrived so all we had to do was listen to the instructions, pick a project and start designing! Michal's instructions were very clear and easy to follow (and she's hilarious) and she was always available to help us and answer our questions throughout the class. She even put on fun music for us to enjoy while we crafted. Everyone said they'd love to come back again and we can't wait to see the results later this week when we pick up our art! read more

Been to Fire Glass Studios a couple times. If you are a glass art enthusiast this is a stop you have to make. I've done stained glass before and glass blowing. This is basically a fusion of the skills from stained glass and the 3D form from melting glass. My second visit with Jodi was amazing. She is the type of art instructor who helps you tap into your creative mind and be playful. My sister and I enjoyed the class with Jodi a lot. I love my rainbow piano and it happens to be one of my favorite glass pieces I made. read more

Did an instructor-led class with my wife. Was a wonderful time and so much fun! The glass turned out beautiful.

My friend and I took a class to see what glass fusion was all about. We fell in love with the whole process! So far, we have completed two projects and we are looking forward to making more! The shop is clean and well organized. When we arrived at class, our supplies were set up and ready for us to get to work. Michal showed us the tools, glass and how it all works then let us go to create. She is an attentive and talented artist who shared her knowledge and creativity. She was there throughout the process and offered helpful hints or ideas for our creations. Amazing class and wonderful artist. Thank you, Michal! We greatly enjoyed our glass works and are coming back for more! read more

I was initially looking for stain glass painting but I'm so glad I found this too. One of my new, never ending, list of hobbies where I get to de-stress, relax and get creative. I've done 3 projects now and have had such a wonderful time there. Michal, the owner, is so sweet and kind, she always welcomes me and makes me feel comfortable. Had the opportunity to check out this studio and let me tell you I was impressed. As an aspiring artist it was amazing to get my creative juices flowing and get to work around glass. I have never had the opportunity beforehand but Ms.Leonard was exceptional. She was extremely charismatic and made me feel as though I was michelangelo painting the Sistine chapel. My artwork turned out better than expected and let me tell you I WILL BE BACK! !!!!! read more

Yes, we had so much fun doing the class. We received good introductions and the staff was helpful and friendly.

I have known Michal and the Fire Glass Studios team now for several years. I always enjoyed my time there learning new things in the various classes and open lab time I've had there. Unfortunately I've had to take most of the last year off as I have been traveling out of state monthly to help my family with an elderly parent. Soon I can't wait to get back to the studio to learn and experiment with some ideas I have. There are several other classes I would like to take to learn other techniques. Michal and the other instructors are amazing. Very kind, patient and full of knowledge. It has been a joy spending time with them and other students and Artists there. I consider them all good friends. I highly recommend Fire Glass Studios and love this unique, beautiful, fun and wonderful type of glass art. Give it a try and discover the Artist in you! read more

This was so much fun. Only down side is that it's a bit far away from the 626 area. My friend and I did the coral bowl and it was fun putting the pieces together. The instructor even cut out other colored glassed piece for us when we asked if there were any other colors. There are small patterned/shiny pieces you can purchase for another $6-10 to add to your bowl. We did that and are so glad we did. They really made the bowls even more special. Our bowls were really to pick up 1 week after the class. Parking is just street parking on the small side street. read more

I have been going to this studio for over a year, having waited until it was safe to be in groups again. I've taken four or five classes, and I've gone to open studio at least 20 times. Everyone from the owner to a student who is there working on his or her own project, has generously helped me whenever I asked. Open studio is supposed to be a time for individuals to do their own work. There is not supposed to be any instruction and we don't pay for instruction. Just for access to all of the great equipment in the studio. Nevertheless, whenever I asked, the owner or one of the other people attending the open studio have generously helped me to understand what I needed to do to fix a project, or how I could make a project. Not surprisingly, there have been projects that didn't come out the way I wanted them to; some could be fixed and some couldn't. But when I first started going to the studio I barely knew how to cut glass, let alone figure out how to clean up a project that had my fingerprints all over it, or how to fix a large plate that came out of the kiln with a huge bubble in the middle because I had not dried the glass properly or because I'd used too much glue. And although I was supposed to be working on my own, everyone I asked would stop what they were doing and patiently explain what I needed to know, even to the point where one woman went home, measured what she had done to make something, then gave me the exact instructions - in writing - the next time I saw her. Every class I've taken there has taught me how to do something special or unique, and everything I've made in those classes have come out beautifully or Michal, the owner, has helped me fix it so the end result was beautiful. I have spent many hours there and most of those hours Michal was there. I have never heard her even raise her voice in anger. In fact, sometimes I wonder how she can remain as patient and even-tempered as she does since all day long - even during open studio - someone is constantly asking her questions and asking her for help. She never turns them down. She might ask the person to wait a few minutes, but she always comes over and answers our questions or helps with our problem. I have come to really love glass fusing and I've attached a few pictures of my projects. I made all of these in the last eight months, and I plan to take on some even more advanced work going forward, always at FireGlassStudio. read more

Found this place on groupon but didn't get the groupon just ended up calling directly and making a reservation for a private party of 8 for our daughters birthday. We wanted to do something different for her birthday that was memorable. When hubby first called to make the reservations he ended up talking to the owner of the place and she was a really nice lady. She explained that we had a window of 48 hours to cancel if we needed to and We put a small deposit down. Our reservations were for sept 1 for a party of 8. They had called 3 days prior to our reservation to remind us and to collect the rest of the payment. Day of the reservation they called to confirm again to make sure we were good to go and that there wasn't any changes. I love that they are very accommodating here. We didn't know what to expect when we were Getting there. We walked in with our party and walked into the office into the studio. We were greeted by our instructor Dawn. She was super friendly and very welcoming. She sat us all down and started to go through all the instructions of what it is and then what to do next and the rest of the process. We had a upgrade package which allowed us to choose from a plate, tea light candle holder, 4 magnets, a picture frame, 2 garden decorations, 2 coaster, pencil holder, jewelry box with 2 small pendants or a small wall art. We all choose different projects to do. You can either have the final piece flat or have it at a lower temperature to do texture. Dawn was uber helpful walking around helping each of us with so many questions. Lol we weren't the easiest group cause we needed up adding 2 more projects and also upgrading one of the projects to a spoon holder. Dawn also shared some of her stories as we did as well. She was an amazing instructor over all and really cool to work with. Definitely a great activity do with a group of friends or even family like we did and at the end of it all you get a beautiful piece of artwork that you made yourself. We can't wait to see how the final stages of our projects will look like we will definitely be back again next time we are in LA. read more

Michal and the Fire Glass Studio are both a wonderful escape from the chaos that is unrelenting around us. As she stated frequently while we worked "this is a forgiving art" and while I probably should forgive myself for cutting glass too small, the warmth from the kiln and the host made me eager to come back and try my hand again at the wonderful work adorning the space. Not too difficult to grasp, but still a worthy challenge we decided to try our hand at the coral bowl. I've seen a few around in the space and if mine comes out even a quarter of the quality, I'll be happy. Thank you Fire Glass Studio for giving us something to do in these uncertain times. Your kindness and welcoming art form is a wonderful change of pace. read more

Terrible customer service. I needed to reschedule our appointment because my daughter got the flu. I reached out two days before our class to let him know, but I was told there was a 72 hour cancelation policy. I did not know about this policy because I purchased a groupon certificate and had trouble signing up for the class online, so Michal scheduled us via email but never informed me of the cancelation policy. In spite of my repeated attempts to communicate that to him he refused to reschedule our appointment and sent me an email with the subject line reading "my last respond" to which he just sent me the language that apparently is on the website but was not communicated to me in advance. It was rude to say the least. I am a business owner and I understand cancelation policies. However, I would never expect a client to abide by a policy I did not communicate to them. In addition, people get sick sometimes. I wasn't asking for a refund. I was asking for a different day so my children and I could still enjoy the gift I had purchased for them for the holidays. It was a terrible way to treat a customer. read more

I found this studio randomly through groupon and am so happy we tried it! We got to our class a little early and got to look around at all the amazing projects other people had created. Our teacher was so friendly and explained the processes that went into each piece we were curious about. It also gave us a chance to get inspired about what we'd try for our own projects so I'd recommend arriving a little early! I had this idea that I wanted to make little soy sauce plates for sushi so I asked if that was possible. There was an extra $8 fee for that which was totally reasonable since they'd have to fire it twice to shape it. I just picked up my final product today (took about a week from the night we had the class) and I am so in love with my new plates! Thanks for a cool creative experience! read more

If you're looking for a fun activity with a nice takeaway, fire glass studio is a good options! We got off on the wrong foot because it was difficult to book an appointment with our Groupon. Beware that the hours don't align with Yelp, and that the class schedule isn't 100% accurate. We had the coral bowls but in our group there was a variety of people working on different things. Nonetheless, the actual activity and results were awesome! This was easier than we expected, and they turned out great. I would definitely do this again even though the beginning was a bit difficult. My Girls and I decided to try this place for our Ladies Night Out. We found the glass fusion + wine event on Groupon and decided to give it a try. Initially I thought the event included Wine with the deal; however, after reading the description a bit more clearly I realized that it's bring your own wine, wine glasses, and snack. With that said, if you bring your own drinks and snacks... be sure to also bring your wine opener, wine glasses, utensils and small plates as needed. The studio is at the end of the building (corner of Canoga Avenue and Chase Street). The parking is street parking. The class began with a brief overview of the glass cutting process, materials, and project options. All of us decided to do the 2 pendants and 1 plaque package. Once you decide which project you will work on, the rest of the class session is pretty much self paced. Overall, the experience was great. The reasons why I rated it 4 are due to the following reasons: 1. Parking wasn't easy to find 2. The marketing and Event Title "Glass Fusion + Wine" is deceiving considering you would have to BYOD read more

Something different and so much fun! I stumbled on this studio and its classes while searching for activities to relieve my Covid retirement boredom. I'd never thought about glass work before, didn't even know classes in glass fusing existed, but decided it looked like fun so why not give it whirl? First class, an introductory session, and seeing the results a week later were such a kick that I soon signed up for a different one. Haven't seen those results yet, but the class itself was so much fun that I've already signed up for a third. Owner Michal is so enthusiastic and helpful, she may have spoiled me for any other instructors. We shall see, because I'm planning to keep taking classes! I went back and forth on how to rate my experience here...there are some great things I want to highlight about experience and some that could have been much better. I booked through a Groupon for my husband and I to attend a class. The class itself was a lot of fun and our pieces turned out great. Once booked we were told that studio would be closed on this date and offered for us to go to much further location from our residence. I appreciate that they were responsive and quick to change the date of the class, but the reason that we could not do original date was because their one studio was closed during this time. However, did not see this anywhere on the website and website allowed us to book even though they would be closed... The person leading our class was very kind and clearly loved the job, but made us wait for others to show up who were late and did not instruct us on everything we needed to put on our check out sheet so we had to call numerous times to get in touch with someone so that they would fire our pieces. When I finally got in touch with owner she was incredibly kind and responsive to my feedback which made me change my mind for the better regarding the studio/my experience. I appreciate staff who is willing to hear you out, take criticism, and not make excuses for service that was less than you expected. I would recommend as the class was a lot of fun and owner was responsive and polite when spoke with her about our experience!!! Just hope you do not have the same issues I had with booking and picking things up. read more
