They worked with our property throughout 2019 and 2020 and transformed our space into a gorgeous oasis - a place to sit and relax, a place to learn how to grow food, bees to enjoy, and a water feature to add not only ambiance but wildlife and ecosystems. They are experts at their craft, so kind, and incredibly hard working. They even added gorgeous detailed finishes in the patterned bricks and stonework in our patio spaces. I'm grateful for all they've taught us and all the work they've done. And continue to do as they help us maintain this beautiful space. Thank you so much John and your team - we LOVE our space.

John and his team are very nice people and know their plants well. That said, please do not get…read morethem to build you anything because this is what you end up with: we had a fence put in two years ago and please see the attached picture of what the fence looks like now. They used the cheapest wood imaginable, used nails that rusted when wet and didn't put a clear coat after building the fence. We had to get them to come back to put in support posts because the fence was so flimsy that it buckled and warped. They ended up charging us extra even for the support posts. In the two years since this fence was built, we had to reattached several boards, and fix a gate that was falling down. Just all around shoddy workmanship and they weren't cheap either. Always beware when the pictures in portfolio are from years before (the fences on their website are from when Scott and Ethan were the owners).

* HIGHLY RECOMMENDED * if you want to save time and money! :)…read more I sent out a service request with a few pictures for bids on leaf raking (front yard, back yard, side walk, driveway) around my mom's house. A&M was one of the first who responded and with a very competitive quote. There are providers who would only do in-person quotes which would waste a lot of my time if I were to have to drive there just for a bid. Some quotes are straight-up dishonest and overpriced. Compared to these, A&M stands out as the best option, and I've have no regrets hiring them! His crew came out and did a fantastic job without supervision! To summarize, A&M were able to deliver service that I'd consider efficient without wasting time going back-and-forth. - quote accurately and competitively based on pictures and details - quick and easy scheduling - effective messaging and communication - getting the job done - legit invoicing (through Intuit) I am definitely bookmarking A&M Landscape for my future needs.

Nothing for a week so I reached out and said they'll schedule the following week and they'll get back to me with a firm date. The week they were supposed to arrive, got nothing so I reached back out. Got another response saying she would get back to me first thing the following morning to confirm the date. Crickets... Wasted over 2 weeks waiting but, in the end, I guess they didn't want the work. I gave up and moved onto a more competent and professional company to do the work. Very frustrating.

I paid extra for what, at the time, were called 25 year (asphalt) shingles instead of what were (at the time) called 20 year shingles. My roof still looked OK, and I was confident that it would go through at least one more winter without leaking. There was a certain amount of low-level stress, though, whenever I thought about my old roof, so I decided to get a new roof. I got two estimates, but I liked the idea of A Better Roofing doing the new roof 32 years after they did my first new roof. I also liked what I read on the A Better Roofing website on their "About Us" webpage https://www.abetterroofing.com/about-us/ and their estimate was lower than the other contractor's estimate. The A Better Roofing crew removed the old roof then installed the new roof, all in one day. Since I got good results/value paying extra for upgraded shingles in 1994, I paid extra for upgraded shingles in 2026. :) After my new roof was installed and I had paid, I told Christian that A Better Roofing had installed my previous new roof in 1994. He told me that more than half of their business is referrals (a new roof owner recommending A Better Roofing to someone else who is ready for a new roof) and repeat customers (like me). Look at me: I repeated and now I'm referring. :)

From start to finish, the experience was smooth, professional, and stress-free. They offered a very fair and competitive price--definitely one of the best quotes I received--and the quality of their work exceeded expectations. The crew was thorough, efficient, and clearly took pride in what they do. The planting strip went from overgrown and neglected to clean, tidy, and eye-catching in just a short time. They were easy to communicate with, had prompt responses to my messages via yelp, and kept me in the loop for each step of the process. I left the plant choices up to them and they selected a nice collection of plants to go replace what we had to remove. It started by replacing the decking on all 3 levels with new PVC decking. Next they replace the rails with new, modern wire railing. Next they added artificial doggie turf and then added beautiful stonework to replace old pavers. When I asked if they could add a pond feature, they literally built the most beautiful pond in less than 24 hours! No exaggeration. Less than 24 hours. Then they added a bench with hidden storage for our deck. Let me assure you that this is the best landscaping and construction company in Washington State. There is no team better. Ommy did a wonderful job on my backyard landscaping. However, he said that I didn't need a building…read morepermit and now a friend told me that I likely did need one and I don't know what to do. But even if I didn't need one, a good friend of mine had Ommy build a retaining wall for her and told her that she didn't need a permit. Well, she did, and Ommy didn't help her. It all fell on her shoulders to have the wall he installed removed, get the permits (which required engineering work), and have it installed again. It was extremely stressful and costly for her. The thing is that Ommy is a very nice and creative person. But I have a bad taste in my mouth because of my friend's experience and now because I don't know if my lack of having a building permit will haunt me. The fear, uncertainty, and doubt already is. Following up to Danielle's comment... Danielle, Two things: 1) I was never aware that my water feature isn't "permanent", and that therefore, a permit wasn't required. Ommy told me verbally that a permit wasn't needed and I trusted him. Yes, I am responsible for the electrical. 2) About my friend's honesty: She is part of a very tight cohort of friends including me. I have known her well for almost ten years, and we heard the entire story (from her perspective, it's true) for the last year. I believe her. My suggestion to you is that in the future you explicitly state in your contract whether a building permit is necessary or not, and have the owner initial the clause. Avoid "he said, she said" arguments. That's what good contracts are for.
