Jake, the owner, told me it would cost $95 for the inspection, but after failing it over a simple $5 light bulb, they said I'd need to pay a total of $180 just to get my inspection sticker. I have brought all my cars here for services. Over the years I did the regular inspections there. Sean is an incredible mechanic. Unlike other places he is not looking for "problems " that need an expensive solution. He just does a great job. The times when I actually needed work, alignment, brakes etc. he was thorough, efficient, and most importantly honest in his recommendations. I truly feel comfortable when he is working on my car. I first brought my car to these folks in 1985ish, and, many cars later, my husband and I still have no reason to go elsewhere. Better than driving away with your newly repaired car, thinking "well, that wasn't too painful. It seems fixed, and I don't feel gouged!", which, let's face it, is rare enough, you drive away smiling, but also worrying if they can stay in business with charges this low . They are conscientious, highly competent, fast, friendly, and absolutely reasonable with their labor rates. If you need better than that, you ought to buy a bike, or go marry someone who will whisk you away from such worldly concerns (i.e., you won't find better for you or your car). read more

First off Chuck ( the owner ) is a fixture in Yardley Boro. He has had this station for many decades and has a loyal following of customers. He doesn't rush the job because he knows people's time is valuable and to have you bring it back because it was rushed is a poor excuse for not getting it right. I started taking our cars there when we moved in Yardley in 1994 and have gone back ever since. I am new to the area and had yet to find a mechanic. My 04 Acura's a/c went out and soon thereafter, the car started making some pretty bad noises. I felt like it was probably fairly serious and needed to get it looked at asap. I went to Service Center of Yardley hoping to drop it off and pick it up in the next day or two. Unfortunately, they were booked up for the next week. I told them I had no idea where to go and I think they took pity on me and went ahead and took a look. Without getting into specifics, I had a serious problem that in the long run needs an expensive fix, but they were able to at least get me on the road running safely and for cheap which is exactly what I asked for. I really wish I could remember the mechanic's name, but I will say he was honest, courteous, and really went out of his way to help me out. Highly recommend! read more

I have brought my car to these guys twice now and I am very pleased with the service I have received. Granted, they haven't actually 'repaired' anything in my car yet, but that's because they gave me an honest opinion, which in my case, was that the issues with my car were nothing to worry about and no repair was necessary. To illustrate the high level of service, I'll tell about my most recent trip: I brought my VW in because the malfunction indicator lamp came on and I needed it to be diagnosed. I had previously called a nearby VW dealership to ask how much it would be to have the issue diagnosed and they told me it would be $100 (just to have it diagnosed). When I called the Service Center of Yardley, they said they would check it out for free because they said it was just a matter of plugging something into the car and scanning it for the source of the malfunction. WOW. What a difference right there. So, I brought my car by, and within a few minutes he was able to tell me what the problem was. In my case, he said it had to do with the temperature sensor in the car (which had just been replaced by a VW dealership over the summer) and that the light could just be on because the dealership forgot to reset the computer when they made the repair over the summer. He reset the computer for me, which turned off the light, and told me that if it came back on I should go back to the dealership with my receipt and they should replace it for free. I will continue to bring my car here whenever I have a problem because they really seem to be honest people. I highly recommend this place!!!! read more
