This place is amazing. Great service and delicious food…read more Finally a place with good chinese food. Beef & broccoli = very tender beef Kung pao prawns = these were cooked perfectly. An excessive amount of peanuts though. Shanghai noodles = best I've ever had Chili oil wontons = perfect. Also best I've ever had. We will definitely be returning.

This place has been here since I was a kid. Glad to see it's still here and I'm visiting again…read moreafter 20+ years. All I remember was that I liked their hot and sour soup. Not really an authentic Szechuan restaurant. 30 years ago, most chinese cuisines were cooked by hong kongers or south chinese people. So, most of these dishes are going to be a southern take on it. Hot and sour soup - price is awesome. $11 enough for at least 6 bowls. Souo base is missing a bit of flavor but it is jam packed with ingredients. Drunken chicken - it was ok. Little on the salty side. Shanghainese pan fried pork buns - these were probably the worst I've had. Not made in house and not properly pan fried. No juice, super dry, no fried bottom crust. Bean curd wrapped pork dim sum - surprisingly this came out last. At least 20 min has passed. This is a steamed dish but it came out with dried edges like it was sitting on a dry heater. Taste was ok. Mapo tofu - asked for extra spicy and extra numbing. Numbing was there but nowhere near real szechuan numbing. Was not spicy at all. Sauce was more oily than saucey. The price point reflects the quality. Things are either mediocre or a complete miss. Would come again to try only the better stuff. Staff was friendly. Came to try to refill the tea way more times than normal. The iron goddess tea tastes much better than a lot of dim sum places elsewhere.

Came here again because I am craving stir fried crystal noodles called chencun noodle 陳村粉. I just…read morehad it at lee garden and it was amazing and was looking for more places that have it Stir fried chencun noodle with pork riblets - good wok hei. Has lots of different ingredients. A little bit on the saltier side. Definitely a solid dish. Phoenix claws - the naming says it's their house special sauce which tasted different than normal spicy black bean sauce. Was not a fan. Salt and pepper deep fried squid tentacles - still delicious and portions still the same - smaller side. They don't have any discounts for early morning dimsum. They don't charge for tea here though.

We were first customers to enter, and be greeted, but joined by others before seated, and by a good many more, soon after - the restaurant was more than half full in a very short time. We chose a table by the long window - all window seatings were 4-seat tables, so perfect for us. The larger, mostly round tables, were located throughout the central area of the restaurant. Table service was friendly, quick, and very efficient. We had a dim sum menu at our table, and an additional lunch menu was brought with tea service once we were seated. Our food order was taken as soon as we indicated a desire to order. Food arrived from kitchen to table rather quickly, and the dishes nicely sequenced. Presentations looked good, and definitely tickled our senses. Preparations were all nice and hot (yeah .. the way they should be!), and provided some very interesting and distinctive flavours and tastes. Dishes ordered as shown in the photos. Overall dining experience -- quality service, with good food preparations -- a much-enjoyed dining experience.

I have been to Legend House several times in the past and it was decent, but it has gone down hill…read morerecently. I would say sometime after mid 2024 the quality has dropped significantly. The hot and sour soup was excessively sour, the fried rice cakes was too sweet and the Dan Dan noodles was excessively salty. The buns (Xiao Long Bao and san ji Bao) were okay but the wrapping was on the thick side. Furthermore, the ingredients don't taste fresh and dishes such as the Dan Dan noodles are missing key ingredients like cucumbers and carrots. Service is good, and there are robots as well. Price is cheap, but the taste is just not good.

We decided to try Legend House again and order different items. It's still more expensive than our…read moreother Chinese restos but at least they're open later. For the good news: very generous portion of the thick and flavourful Sweet Corn & Chicken Soup; the wonderful surprise of biting into the dumplings and getting both the authentic taste of the pork filling and the burst of the well seasoned broth Shanghai "Xiao Long Bao" Soup Dumplings; the properly cooked with the right amount of garlic and spice Salt & Pepper Squid and; the ever reliable FR "Yang-Zhou" Style. Unfortunately, we didn't fare so well with the rest of our meal. I've always wanted to try the Dan-Dan Noodles and I even opted for the Blade-Sheared Noodles. The noodles were overdone and so soft and slimy. It also didn't help that the extremely oily peanut sauce tasted like melted store-bought peanut butter with a smattering of minced pork. It wasn't even spicy as described. We also ordered the ironically dry and plain Green Onion Beef with Black Pepper Sauce. Not sure if the sauce spilled or evaporated but the container was devoid of any liquid. If it wasn't for the wonderful baos, my revised rating would have been 2 stars. If we ever go back to Legend House, it's probably just for the dim sums otherwise I'll pass.
