We hired Yankee Home Improvement to replace our tired old front door. The salesperson was very professional and personable. Be careful though because they will not offer the discounts you see advertised if you don't bring it up. But they will not push other products on you (do you want fries with that?). They have lots of door options with great colors and window styles. We found just the door we wanted, ordered and had the door installed about 5 weeks later. The installation was flawless! The guys did a great job and we love our new door. However, the door was much more expensive than we thought it would be. These are not Home Depot prices, but the quality of the product and the work completed by the installation team was great. We would consider this company for future work. read more

The entire Crew was great, Being hearing impaired I missed the name of the wonderful gentleman, from Ukraine, that worked closely with us. This may be a long one, buckle up. We were in a jam with a leak behind our shower and so we were pinched for a timely repair. We didn't have much time to shop around or to wait for a more affordable general contractor to be able to come out to do the work. We agreed to a contract with Yankee Home Improvment for $19K, and they said they could be here within a week to get started. Commericals rave about "ALWAYS DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! NEVER CADDYWAMPUS!". Let me tell you the story how we now have a $19K shower that is still a bit Caddywampus after the not first, not 2nd, not 3rd.... but 6th time. Pros: -Quick -(thats about it) Cons: -Leaked -Smelled -Caulk has separated from wall within less than 3 months and proper care/cleaning on our part The day they came to do the shower install went good at first. They were moving at a great pace! There were 2 gentlemen working in the bathroom doing the demo/install and at some point a plumber stop in to do all of the plumbing work. He left before the bathroom shower/tub install was complete as his work was done. He NEVER tested his work, so when the 2 gentlemen doing the install wrapped the project up at the end of the day (I must be in the wrong business if a $19K job is done in one day btw! lol), they turned the shower on and it leaked all over into our basement and all over our firewood. Not the end of the world - it dries. The 2 install gentlemen "fixed" the plumbers work and the next day it was leaking. We called and they sent someone out timely - I believe this 2nd visit (3rd attempt at getting it done right) they re-leveled the plumbing/p-trap. That gentleman left and after work I went in the basement to look at the work and it was leaking. Here we are at 4th attempt, 3rd visit - no longer leaking but smells HORRID! (Turns out someone messed up the vent pipe and so septic gas was leaking into our house, stinking the whole place up. Brings us to the 4th visit, 5th attempt to fix it - no idea exactly what he did but left and following few days still STINKS. Call AGAIN and they tell me it has something to do with the washer and dryer. HUH?! the washer and dryer are across the basement, not in the bathroom or tied into the plumbing they worked on and never been an issue. That would be one HECK of a coincidence! Here we are at 6th attempt to fix it, 5th visit, they have now FINALLY sent their "Master Plumber" - He says WTH did they say anything about the washer and dryer?! And laughs it off. (Honestly feel like at that point they were trying to blame something existing in our home vs. standing by their work and its issues). After Master Plumber totally redoes the plumbing, admits it was the vent pipe and leaves (we are now a month and a half into our "new" $19K shower), we FINALLY have a shower that doesn't make our whole house smell like sh*t or leak. Phew! Here we are not even 3 months into our new shower and I look down today and the caulk or whatever material is used to adhere the wall of the shower to the tub part, has complete peeled itself back and if coming off. I don't have it in me for one more phone call or one more visit to fix their shotty work. Mind you, for all of this I did politely let them know I would be looking for some sort of monetary compensation for all of the hassle and smelling sh*t for a month in my house. You know what the BEST they could offer was on our $19,000 shower? A $200 Amazon Gift Card. I tried hard to refrain from this review and gave plenty of chances but this wall separating was just the last straw. Installed incorrectly, wrong color, not what I wanted from the get go..to cut cost they changed from a fiberglass door to a steel door & changed all the colors. Door had drafts as not hung correctly. Came back & corrected the type of door to fiberglass, corrected the colors, tried to correct the door so there were no drafts, but the door still creaks & squeaks & it drives me crazy!! I have used Yankee Home for several projects including windows and storm doors. They are fair and responsive, and offer a no interest payment plan that is extremely helpful. When glitches came up they were addressed quickly and efficiently. Most recently Alekcey and Vadim did a great job installing a new bay window in my kitchen. I am extremely disappointed with a recent communication between myself and Yankee Home Improvement's representative. I requested a quote online to have MY tub removed and replaced with a walk-in shower. I entered the time for the appointment and a representative called me to ask a few questions before sending out someone to review the project and provide a quote. I (female) am the only homeowner. I paid 100% of the closing costs on MY home. The deed is only in MY name and the mortgage is 100% MINE and I pay it every month. The sexist male representative from Yankee Home Improvement was rude and refused to send someone out to look at the project unless my fiancé (male) was also in MY home at the time. My fiancé is a very nice man and I have a lot of respect for him, but he does not own MY home. He has ZERO interest or investment in MY home and I am paying 100% of the cost of the shower makeover. He would be paying ZERO dollars towards this renovation. Which is fine. I am happy to finance this improvement to MY home. Yet the chauvinistic representative from Yankee Home Improvement refused to send someone out unless all "decision makers" were home at the time of the appointment. I am the ONLY "decision maker" as this is MY home. Again, the mortgage is 100% in MY name and the deed at town hall is 100% in my name. My fiancé was present during this call and was listening in. He confirmed for the Yankee Home Improvement representative that he has ZERO say in how the new bathroom is designed and he is contributing ZERO dollars to the project. He could not be home during the appointment time and he had no interest in being there for it. I've never been treated more rudely and unfairly in my life. I am female and I am 100% capable of owning my own home, obtaining my own mortgage and making my own decisions on the design of my own home. I didn't realize this company was so misogynistic and incapable of believing that a woman could own her own home and make decisions about her own property. I'm so disappointed and sad that this kind of bias still exists. Yankee Home Improvement should be ashamed of themselves. I contacted my local contractor and they happily came out to provide me a quote regardless of who was home at the time of their visit. And guess what, when I write them a check for the completed renovation, they'll happily take the funds from my bank account. I may even pay them extra just for not being misogynistic jerks. We decide to go with Yankee Home and couldn't have been happier with the end results. I would highly recommend them. Marc and Jess were here exactly when they said they would be here and worked non-stop. They were polite and completely cleaned up after themselves before they left. I would definitely hire Yankee Home again. Yankee Home may not have been the cheapest but I believe you get what you pay for and I would gladly trust Yankee Home Improvement in my home again. Update to my previous review 1 month ago. Yankee Home has sent at least three different people to our home to try & fix the creaking & squeaking in our $6,000 front door. My husband sprayed silicone on the threshold, hinges etc. & the door still creaks & squeaks upon opening & closing it. The 3 technicians they have sent out just spray silicone on it & leave. I have tried to tell Yankee Home several times that upon the technician leaving, the creaks & squeaks just come back. The door is not hung correctly or this would not be happening. I get nice replies from a customer service rep telling me they are sorry this is happening & know how frustrating this can be. They will let their service team know as their company never wants this to happen. However, after viewing many other reviews on Yelp, I see this is happening all the time & the response is always the same....they are sorry. We did get a phone call from them the other day. My husband may have been a little rough on the caller because he told him we were tired of this bullsh** & we just needed someone to come out & fix the problem, not just spray silicone on the threshold. After several attempts, just spraying silicone is apparently not the solution. The end result of the phone call was he would check with "his team" to see what could be done & get back to us. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!! While they strive to provide good customer service, they seem to fail to provide good installation practices. Their advertisements say it's "Done right the first time...Never Cattywampus!". BULLSH**!! We have the ultimate "Cattywampus" front door & they can't seem to figure out how to fix it. Had the original installation team had any idea what they were doing as far as hanging a door, we would not be in this situation. If the original Construction Manager, Mike, was still with the company, I'm sure this problem would have been solved & fixed by now. We need our front door to open & close properly once & for all. We could have gone with Curtis Lumber, picked out a Fiberglass door & hired experts who know how to hang a door for a total of $3,200. He showed us samples of doors, color options, storm doors and we were able to select the perfect door for our house. If I could give the a zero I would and I am submitting a complaint to the BBB and wherever else following this. On 10/11/24 at 8:03 AM, I received a text message from them saying "Thanks for reaching out!" and a number and link to schedule a consultation. Then every two days they would send a new text until I replied "STOP". The phone calls are over the top. Starting on 10/11/24 I have received no less than two calls a day and some days up to six calls - ALL from Yankee Home Improvement employees looking to assist me with my windows project. Sometimes they leave messages and sometimes they don't. Either way, I never signed up on a site and I am guessing they got the "call list" that came out that day. I did put my number on the DNC list on 10/11 (again) and I know it takes up to 30 days but whether it was that or someone took the time to put my phone number on their site (not me)...they must know that if they call 2 to 6 times a day for 26 days straight with no return call, that the person is not interested and it is a nuisance. When we are ready to install new windows, the LAST place I would call is Yankee Home Improvement solely due to this experience. read more

I contacted them via chat on their website to see about getting quotes on 3 home projects. After a discussion of the projects where I gave the details she asked if she could call on the phone. She said she was connecting me now and to let her know if it didn't go through. I waited several minutes for the call and then typed to let her know I was still waiting. They disconnected. I reached out again and even though it said it was "Kylie" again I suspect it's multiple people using that name which I find deceptive. They took my number and this time the call went through. I spoke w Adam and it started off well enough, he had Kylie's notes but I still had to go through things again. He sounded a bit inexperienced but that's ok. Where we ran into a sticking point was when he asked if all decision makers would be present. I said for now I just need the quote. He then started to go on explaining why they prefer all decision makers be present. I told hm I was the person they needed to deal with and I would just like to get a quote. As it happens I am the home owner and the only decision maker - but after I decline to give that information that should be the end of the discussion. He said they would be unable to help me without all decision makers being present and we ended the call. They will not be getting my business. read more

I decided to agree to meet with them to find out more about it. I cancelled plans to make this happen. When speaking on the phone, they wanted all people who live in the home to be present. We made the appointment. The next day they asked us to confirm the appointment which I did. The day before the appointment, they wanted confirmation again. Twenty minutes before the appointment, I receive a text that the salesperson had an emergency and there was no one else in my area. They then wanted me to reschedule but my days are busy and my time is valuable. I really don't want to cancel my plans again and risk them not showing up again. I text them asking for a quote and what the "special promotion" entails before I decided to risk another appointment. Received a quote that was far more expensive for half the job. The advertised specials, free labor up to $7,500, free shower doors. We'll after they canceled the appointment and rescheduled, all they kept saying was we are a priority, and are entered into a prize drawing. Sales man was polite, but kept redirecting to their in-stock options, and when the price came to simply replace the one piece shower/tub with a walkin shower in the same foot print, well way over priced and it didn't include the product choices/brand/material that we wanted. No free labor or shower doors as advertised, those cost were added in. Bet we're not the prize winners in their "contest" which also had the magic $7,500 amount. Shame Mr Cadywampus and Ed Carroll...your commercials are "too good to be true." Wanted to give them a chance, unfortunately, should have known all that advertising and offers were empty. DO NOT RECOMMEND. High pressure sales, with inaccurate information. Very disappointing and frustrating experience. Left with cleanup, repairs and fixes at our expense, such as stove door latch, dishwasher not reinstalled to original status, facet sprayer leaks, sink is very thin material, chips along one edge of the counter top, cabinet doors rub and are not aligned correctly, bathroom wall damaged during counter top installation, etc. Initially, we were offered some money to offset repairs but a month later we were told to pay the money back or go to Small Claims Court. Overall low quality at high prices. We were also told we were too knit picky by the Director of Production.. Just want to be done with them and their attitude. read more

It's terrible that I took this long to write this review, but the team at Yankee Home Improvement replaced around 30 windows in my house a few years ago and I was incredibly impressed with both their service/operations, as well as their work product. In terms of service and operations, they were timely, transparent, and very polite during their work. In addition to that, they went out of their way to improve areas that needed to be touched up. Final thing worth noting here is that they keep in touch with us, not because they want to sell something (at least not directly), but because they just want to stay in touch. It's a great add on to their customer service. In terms of the work, the windows are absolutely amazing. We've probably already paid them back in full just with the savings we've had from heat and cooling. In terms of the on-the-job work, the gentlemen who were in my house doing the work were incredibly careful with the property, acted appropriately with me and my family while here, and left the place spotless. The only negative thing is that i want them to do more work for me, but it's things they don't have in their tool kit! :) Keep up the good work, folks. read more

The plumber and workers were very courteous and professional. The staff at Yankee Home Improvement have been very helpful and fantastic as the thermostat stopped working and with the warranty on the product they didn't hesitate to send someone out to have it fixed quickly. This company contacted me after I inquired about window installation on Home Adviser. The man on the phone ( I think his next is Scott) told me it takes about an hour because they show you different windows and measurements. Within 60 seconds, the salesman said " the first thing we need to do is run your credit and see how much of a loan you can get. I thi k they get kickbacks from wherever they get the financing from. I told the man he could leave. I wasnt intrested. I called Scott back immediately and he said thats not how they do business and asked if he could send someone else out. I declined. I looked on their website and there is a picture of the salesman who came out getting an award for highest sales. That is BS, they only want to get people to get loans. read more

I am a 71 year old widow that contacted Yankee home improvement to replace windows in my home. The work that was done was not done correctly. What the salesperson promised was not delivered. After a somewhat acknowledgment of the lack of proper trim finish and a broken screen, etc; they agreed to come back and fix the windows. After five trips the windows are still not fixed correctly. There is permanent damage caused by them to my window sills. They reneged on their promise to come back for a final visit and they (Joe and Matt) are now are ghosting me. Decided to call the number, received a female operator ; she proceeded to state YH would come to my home and provide a quote (virtually) bc I would rather stay safe. The roofers did an excellent job putting beautiful new shingles on moldy, warped plywood. The crew had everything done in one day accept the clean-up., that took a few days. I do feel comforted, however, knowing I paid for all new plywood that probably went on somebody else's roof. Way over priced. WAY. It's one thing to use a high pressure sales in a showroom or place of business. But it is inappropriate for the salesman to refuse to take no for an answer when he is sitting at your kitchen table and you are a single woman alone in the house. I said I would like to think about it before applying for credit or agreeing to the project for more that 45 minutes. I had to start bringing up that my father (who is dead btw) needed to approve big expenses. Then the guy still wouldn't take no for an answer and asked what my dad would know, where he worked, and where he lived. He was getting visibly upset that I kept saying no. Very alarming. Finally I said "it's 9pm, I can't agree to anything this late at night" and he left. I locked all my doors as soon as he walked out the door. I would not recommend Yankee Home Improvement to anyone. They use high pressure sales tactics and mark up their services to ridiculous levels. I gave them my business because it was the middle January 2021, and I had a serious leak from an old tub that needed to be addressed immediately. Yankee Home Improvement was very eager to tell me how they could do a complete remodel of the tub, with demo, in one day. They quoted me just shy of $16,000, which also included replacing the bathroom window. I knew that the entire job should have cost around $8,000 or less but I wanted the convenience of one-day service. I figured that was where the intense mark-up came into play. I was wrong. Yankee Home Improvement failed to deliver from the moment I signed the contract. They assigned some idiot who called himself a project manager and sent out two installation technicians who were still clearly learning the business. The project was completed in a half-ass manner two days later. They did a marginal job at best and damaged tiles outside of the bath/shower area. The technician actually glued back a broken tile with silicon and said that was the best that he could do. They caused water to leak inside of the wall by forcing things into place during the installation. This was confirmed by the plumber who had to come back out three days later. He told me that there was nothing wrong with how the plumbing was installed, the leak was a direct result of the installation. On top of all of that, the shower doors were not properly installed. It took multiple technicians, on multiple trips, to finally fix that problem. They did ultimately fix the broken tile that had been glued back onto the wall in a really pathetic manner, but this was only done after several phone conversations and an admission from one of their senior people that the broken tile should not have been handled in the way that it was. I paid premium money for a third-rate experience. read more
