    Pork belly with rice
    Stacy V.

Great food choices. Hmong food on the go or dine in. Kapoon was really good, broth had enough coconut and lots of meat, noodles were perfectly cooked. Pork belly was tasty and Hmong sausage was ok. We will definitely come back while traveling through OK.

Addicted to this fried pork belly! Just the right flavor and crispy outside and juicy tender inside. It is a fatty cut, but you can pick your piece of meat. Love the spicy sauce they serve with it! I could eat this everyday if it didn't go straight to my hips! Stuffed chicken wing is a fav as well! Has the clear glass noodle like the eggrolls with this bread like stuffing. It is also cooked to perfection and don't forget the sticky purple rice. They do have fish as well and fried duck but I haven't tried. Once they sell out, that's it that's all. Small dining area but you can always order ahead or to-go. Fast and friendly service!!!!

UPDATED REVIEW!! I'm still in love with this place. This restaurant is a Hmong restaurant that HITS THE HMONG CRAVINGS!! This has to be my number one spot to go to when I want Hmong food. This place never disappoints and keeps all the dishes consistent, making them so reliable on how delicious they are. I love the sticky rice!! Who wants regular rice when you can get sticky rice for less than $5?! It goes so well with their papaya salad (which is not shredded with a shredder but with a hand and knife because a it thick). The pork belly hits sooo good too! BUT it is oily so don't overdo it! I'm warning y'all! I do recommended the pork belly with the papaya salad because it mixes well together since the papaya salad cuts off the oiliness from the pork belly. Craving for soup? Get the kapoon if you're wanting it to be spicy. IT ACTUALLY TASTES GOOD. I would say it's more on the creamier side than the spicy side. The khao piek is the UPGRADED CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP!! She's thick, she's got fresh chicken & broth! Add some lime from their self service bar and it's PERFECT.

Wow! The food is really good! A friend had recommended this place. There's not much to the atmosphere but we didn't care. We had the pork belly and fried rice, the stuffed chicken wing and the sausage and rice. So authentic! We had some great leftovers. We will be back!

After trying out this restaurant again, I have no choice but to update my review to 5 stars! It gets very busy during lunch time so expect a wait time unless you're there when they open. Great variety of foods that taste great! Service is also good and they haven't messed up my order. Pork belly: crisp and tasty! Stuffed chicken wing: yummm! KAPOON: yes, more please! All in all, great place for lunch or dinner. This place is a must try! I must've been mistaken about the sausages last time. There were two of them in there and looked smaller when they were cut.

I just can't drink the Kool-Aid with the other reviewers on this one. It ain't that good. I know where to find better Hmong/Laotian food. Up to the counter to order one of Yang's signature menu items, Stuffed Wings. I had spent an hour convincing my wife that the restaurant was worth a try for this item alone. I had coerced her with promised pastries from Pancho Anaya Bakery (across the street) to take home after the meal. Well, no stuffed chicken wings. Only a few of the regular chicken wings abandoned in the heated tray. Noticeably picked through leaving the losers behind, like the nerds that get picked last for high school dodge ball. The sausage situation was similar. No egg rolls. Lots of mystery fish, wrapped in grilled stained foil, stacked high in the tray. Obviously not a desirable protein of choice by the patrons. Plenty of pork belly. It looked good, but pork fat and rice, just doesn't make my mouth water. My wife wanted to try the purple rice. That narrowed her selection down to the remaining sausage logs with purple sticky rice. I admit that the sausage looked deceivingly good, so I got one and a small beef Pho. Serve yourself tableware and condiments for the Pho were in the corner. Problem, no spoons, forks, etc. were available. Our food came out. I informed the server that there was none available. She went back to the kitchen and after a suspiciously long wait, brings freshly washed dining utensils. The sausage casings are stuffed with a coarsely chopped meat of some type. ??? It tasted good. Nicely seasoned. The first bite surprises with the unusual firm and coarse texture of the filling, and another surprise. Every bite comes with a "no chew 'em." Gristle, cartilage, unchewable bits of something that you tolerate during the first few bites. And then you decide that whatever these disgusting animal pieces are, need to be located and removed from your mouth. Enough of the sausage. The Pho had similar low-quality meat. The broth was flavorful and the basil, jalapeno slices, and onion made it even better. It was fair. There are very few reviewers that have written updated reviews, confirming that for most folks like me, it is a one and done visit. If you like lots of rice and pork belly this is your place.

    Standing in line.

If you are looking for a hole in the wall type place, this is for you. They have a deli with delicious fried foods, pork belly, crispy duck, egg rolls, ect... It's good! I am anxious to go back and try something new. Remember I said "hole in the wall" meaning the atmosphere is underwhelming but the food meet all expectations.

Let's start off by saying I'm JEALOUS little Hmong gems like this don't exist around the Kansas City area... To the Hmong community down in Tulsa, DON'T take this place for granted! I came down to Tulsa on a business for my job. Knowing there's a prominent Hmong community down here compared to KC, I searched up Hmong food and this is what popped up. Just 10 minutes away from my hotel, I got in my car and SPED the entire way here! xD The food is fantastic! It definitely hit cravings that I had and it was very well priced! Everything was fresh and hot! There were also a good amount of items to choose from as well, which I'll definitely have to try if I'm ever back in OK! I recommend the Pork Belly w/ Sticky Rice combo and you HAVE try a Naab Vam (Hmong Tapioca Milk Drink)!!! Not to mention, the young lady behind the counter was also super friendly and helpful! She was able to put up with all my questions so props to her, haha! As I mentioned, this place is a GEM, for the Hmong community in Tulsa, and the city of Tulsa in general! I'd definitely recommend this place to anybody in the surrounding areas! You WON'T regret it!

OMG! What a gem! Mind blown at how tasty and delicious the food was. I was on the road with my partner, and driving through Tulsa I looked for Thai food. This placed popped up with glowing reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. It was ABSOLUTELY worth our time!! We got the purple sticky rice with pork belly and sausage. Mouth watering! We were so full but could not stop eating. We also got some drinks we have never tried before. I had a white gourd drink that was a soft tasting very yummy flavor. Partner got a roasted coconut water quite good too. The price is reasonable and they serve a good amount of food. It can easily be two portions. My partner liked the pork belly so much that he ordered pork belly to go. The nice servers even let him pick which piece he wanted! It is also quite close to the freeway, so a must have if you are driving near/in Tulsa.

They have a number of lunch special options, but also offer a wide variety of popular appetizers and entrés that should please everyone. I have eaten here at least three times, and have brought co-workers as well. All are impressed by the range of options, the quality, and hospitality. The restaurant isn't beautiful inside, but you can tell it's legit Thai food. It's a bit stormy and rainy today so we figured something spicy, warm, and flavorful would be good. We ordered a small Tom Yum soup, Green Curry, and Drunken Noodles. The food came out quickly, and our server as well as all staff were attentive and friendly. The portion size on all our entrees was more than enough. I bodied my drunken noodle, and my girlfriend took half of her Green Curry home. We shared the Tom Yum soup and got the Thai Hot spice level. It is a bit spicy but not unbearable. It makes the flavor much tastier. The small was a perfect size to share if you're looking to try lots of things. The bathrooms are clean and tidy, if you're curious about that kind of thing. We also ordered a Thai Tea to go, which was yummy. I highly recommend this place here in Tulsa! Our total (before the Thai tea) was only $38 for our three items. PLENTY of food. You could also share and eat family style. Drunken Noodle 10/10 Tom Yum 10/10 Green Curry 10/10 Thai Tea 10/10

There's plenty of parking in back. Their menu was a little confusing. Beside the dishes that are commonly served with rice such as curry, there was a hand written notation of the price of rice. We thought this meant that rice didn't come with the dish and you had to pay extra for it. We ordered a noodle dish so we wouldn't have to pay extra. The owner contacted me and explained that the curries came with rice. The notations of cost of rice was in case someone wanted to order extra rice. Now that we know rice comes with entrees such as curries, we will go back and try some of their other dishes such as Korean. I would recommend adding adding "extra rice" to the notation to avoid confusion. The Pad Thai was okay. It wasn't the best Pad Thai I've had, but it wasn't the worst, either. It was $11.99 and did not come with anything else such as soup, salad, or egg roll. The portion was fairly small. The noodles were a little more done than we like. I imagine if one were to order the noodles al dente, that they would accomodate. I would offer 2 suggestions. First just add the word "extra" to the notations about the cost of rice to let people know the price is only in case someone wants to order an extra serving of rice. Also, there was a hand written note on the door stating that restrooms are only for customers. I don't know if that was done because they've had a problem with non-customers using their restaurant or just preventative measures, but we found that off putting. My husband commented, "cranky owners," when he saw it. If they feel they must have such a notice on their door, perhaps they could make it smaller and more professional. It was hand written on a sheet of typing paper and taped to the door crooked. I look forward to trying one of their other dishes.

My favorite aspect of the soup was the pho noodles, just soft enough to maintain that springy texture that's so difficult to achieve. The fresh spring rolls were also excellent. Kai does not shy from giving customers jumbo size spring rolls. I also love the hot tea served at this restaurant which uses dried tea leaves. If there's a criticism with Kai, it would be the lack of variety of meats in their combination pho which only had 3 different meats, far fewer than what's standard for this dish.
