Hours on website are wrong. Drove 45 min and had friends do the same for nothing. In the middle of nowhere. Disappointing & inconvenient.

I love this restaurant! And it's favorite spot to visit when I'm in Houston…read more The food is always fabulous, and I enjoy the libation. My last dish was étouffée with gold tile filet - delicious! TV screens in the background don't interfere with the table conversations. There's street parking.

We started by sharing a couple of appetizers - the smoked redfish dip and the biscuits. I'm weird about smells and aftertastes - and was hesitant to try the smoked redfish dip. The dip was flavorful and very smoky - the crackers it is served with were amazing. The aftertaste was tolerable, but a little fishy for me. The biscuits - I could write poems about them. I'd go back to eat baskets of just those biscuits. Highly recommend. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter - it was amazing. The catfish nuggets were crunchy and HOT (temperature), the fries were perfectly seasoned and the hush puppy was a crunch heard around the globe. Sadly, the shrimp and grits arrived to the table at room temp. The flavor was really good, but I was worried to mention the temp issue and have the kitchen nuke them in the microwave. The red beans and rice were similarly room temp and congealed. The restaurant atmosphere was lovely, the service was solid, and on a Tuesday evening we could have walked in and been seated quickly. Overall, it was a nice evening with our friends. Sometimes the company makes up for small disappointments.

In a great way!! Exceptional service, Hannah was our amazing server and has great recommendations :) We ordered oysters (all the Texas ones) to start. We were recommended the Big Tree by Hannah, and it ended up being our favorite! 10/10. The other Texan ones were also great. In terms of drinks, loved the paloma and espresso martini we ordered. Mixed perfectly for both. Loved the zest on the paloma glass. My husband loved his smoked octopus entree. I loved my crab cake. Not much or any filler, just pure crab and maybe a binding agent (egg?). Different from the east coast crab cakes I've had that use a loooot of bread crumbs and the cake can sometimes be dry as a result. This cake was moist and flavorful and paired with a perfectly made hollandaise. For dessert we got the basque cake, which is like a crispy pound cake surrounded by cherry preserves and crushed almonds. It was topped with a wonderfully decadent yet light cream cheese ice-cream. 11/10 will come back (and bring friends)!

Had a variety of east coast oysters. They offer you a list of what they bring you and they identify them for you. Then had their mussel and clams bowl, cooked perfectly and The broth was awesome. Service was quick and attentive so 5/5 all around for those "categories" Now the food? Matched everything else! For my appetizer I got the crab hush puppies. I expected something different (I thought it was going to be filled with crap) but it was more so just hush puppies topped with crab. It was good but it didn't blow me away, I think the crab cake would've been a better option I also got the shrimp scampi and steak. The shrimp scampi was flavorful and the steak was absolutely phenomenal, seasoned beautifully, tender, everything you could ask. For desert I got the bread pudding which was solid but nothing super spectacular. Drinks were good, the peach strawberry lemonade cocktail was really good and I highly recommend All in all this was a wonderful dinner and I highly recommend!

The beef carpaccio was decent as well as the salad we had im not sure what salad it was- it was on a separate menu and it doesn't fit the description of any of the salads on the main menu. But good nonetheless - the dressing they used on it was yummy and had a nice bite to it. The veggies were fresh. For entree I had the steak frites and I wish I would've gotten the shrimp scampi instead. My friend got the scampi and the shrimp were huge and the sauce was very tasty. The steak however was mid at best. It was cold by the time it came out. The chimichurri was definitely not the best I've have. The fries and aioli were the best part of it. The best dish out of everything we had was the dessert- it was a bread pudding with a bourbon sauce. Super yummy and nice and warm. Overall it wasnt the worst but was not the best.
