    Narudo Roll

Came here with a friend post-Pilates and honestly couldn't have picked a better spot to unwind. The yakisoba was fire, perfectly charred, great flavor. The no rice roll was simple but the fish quality spoke for itself. No notes. Service was genuinely warm and attentive without being in your face about it. Good food, good vibes, good company. We'll definitely be back.

5/5 - Absolutely Incredible Sushi Experience! I visited Yamashiro Restaurant in Redondo Beach, and I am honestly blown away. This is hands down some of the freshest, highest-quality sushi I've had in the South Bay -- maybe even in all of LA! From start to finish, every dish was beautifully presented and unbelievably delicious. The sashimi platter was perfection -- thick, buttery cuts of salmon, tuna, scallops, octopus, and more. You can literally taste how fresh everything is. The Amaebi (sweet shrimp) was so delicate, and they even served the shrimp heads crispy, which was amazing! The appetizers were just as impressive -- * Crispy baby squid with a creamy dipping sauce * Refreshing cucumber salad * Perfectly blistered shishito peppers * Fresh mixed greens with a bright dressing * And the grilled yellowtail collar... SO juicy and flavorful! The long wooden nigiri board was stunning -- every single piece was melt-in-your-mouth good. The quality, presentation, and flavors are truly next-level. You can tell the chefs take pride in every detail. If you're a sushi lover, this place is a MUST. I can't wait to come back!

Loved the Negi Toro with fresh wasabi. Had 4 of them. Hamachi (yellow tail) was good as well. I will be going back.

This is easily one of the best sushi spots in redondo beach! My boyfriend and I came for dinner once Friday night and immediately were greeted with the most friendly staff almost immediately from the moment we walked in the door! The ambiance was so cute while they were playing early 2000s music! The food its self is some of the most fresh fish I've tasted while being here! I highly recommend this place as a staple sushi spot here! I can't wait to go back already! (:

    Salmon Double Double

Delicious! The prices definitely reflect the quality. My salmon was delicious and fatty! For appetizers we got Shishito Pepper and the fried squid. I got a Salmon Double Double and my husband got a Caterpillar Rolll. I got a piece of halibut to try and it was also very tasty and fresh. Portions are small but the service is great, the food is fresh, and its easily accessible next to plenty of parking.

Not only are the sushi and other dishes fresh and delicious, the service is excellent. The beer tower and sake (they have a great selection) washes the sushi down very well!

I really enjoy coming to this sushi restaurant. The owner/host is always so kind and attentive and happy to help. And it's just a nice place to get away to for lunch, with some yummy food. I like to try different items each time I come and I've enjoyed everything I've tried thus far. I really like restaurant itself; the outdoor patio is a nice spot to eat and the booths inside are comfy.

I went for dinner with my bf at around 8 pm, and we sat down pretty quickly as it was relatively empty. This is my second time here, and the service is always fast; the servers are nice and attentive. It's a nice, cozy spot with light music playing in the background. The owner (I think was the person who spoke to us) was so sweet and informative regarding the food and drinks. We got an albacore double-double roll, which was excellent and had a nice crunch on top. The star of the show was definitely the sushi burrito! My boyfriend finally convinced me to try, and it is a must-have. It's light and flavorful, definitely recommend. Overall, always a great experience when visiting & recommend if you're in the area !

Truly one of the best sushi dining experiences I've had -- everything from the food to the service was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome and comfortable. The wait time wasn't bad at all, and we were seated quickly in a calm and cozy atmosphere that really set the tone for a great meal. The food? Incredible. Each plate was a piece of art , fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. As a vegan, I often feel limited when eating out, especially at sushi spots, but the veggie crunchy roll I had was delicious and satisfying. It didn't feel like a side option -- it felt like a thoughtfully crafted dish. I genuinely felt like I belonged, and that my dietary choices were respected and considered. That alone meant a lot to me. Now, what really made the night special was the service. Ava and Karen were our servers, and they were absolute gems. Both were so kind, attentive, and hardworking -- they made sure we were completely taken care of throughout the evening. They cleared our plates quickly, answered our questions with patience and a smile, and were always around when we needed something without ever hovering. I felt their genuine care. Their warmth and energy created such an enjoyable experience for me and my family, and it didn't go unnoticed. Cindy, the owner or manager, also came by to check on how everything was, and she was just the sweetest. You can tell she's built a team that cares as much as she does -- it really shows in every part of the experience. The quality here. from the food to the staff to the overall vibe, is outstanding, and the prices are more than fair for what you get. I'll definitely be coming back, and next time I'm bringing friends! If you're looking for a place with amazing sushi, heartwarming service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful presentation, tasty food, kind and attentive staff. Extensive menu. Staff surprised us with a few sweet extras--a nice piece of cooked ono and a desert to share

The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it has a really nice, cozy decor with cool Japanese characters on the walls. We went with their popular tempura combo paired with cold udon, and also grabbed a shrimp tempura roll. Everything was amazing! These guys absolutely know what they are doing when it comes to tempura, it's always perfectly light, crispy, and delicious. The service was also fantastic, super efficient, quick, and friendly from start to finish. Plus, having a parking lot in the back makes coming here totally stress-free. People talk about waiting 45 minutes to over an hour just to get a table, especially on weekends, so I decided to come during lunch instead. Luckily, the place was almost empty, which made for an easy visit. Going in, my expectations were high. Since I'm allergic to shrimp, I let the staff know and ordered the beef bowl and tempura combo instead. At around $20, I wasn't expecting cheap fast food, but I was expecting something that justified the price. The tempura was easily the highlight of the meal. It was light, crispy, and fried well, especially paired with the dipping sauce. If there's one reason I'd give this place any credit, it's the tempura sauce. The chicken tempura, however, was a different story. The coating was crispy, but the chicken itself was incredibly bland. It tasted like plain boiled chicken that happened to get dipped in tempura batter. The beef bowl was even more disappointing. Honestly, it reminded me of a Yoshinoya beef bowl--except it cost more than twice as much and came with a noticeably smaller portion. That's a comparison I never expected to make at a restaurant with this kind of reputation. The service didn't do much to elevate the experience either. Considering how slow it was during lunch, I expected a little more attentiveness, but it felt pretty average from start to finish. As for the atmosphere...it was fine. Nothing particularly memorable, nothing that made me think, "I need to come back." Maybe I ordered the wrong items. That's always possible. But based on this visit, I just don't understand the hype. The food was decent--not terrible--but nowhere near worth the long waits, the price, or the reputation it seems to have built. If you happen to be nearby and there's no line, sure, give it a try. But if you're planning to wait an hour because everyone says it's a must-visit, I honestly think you can skip it and won't feel like you missed out. Buyer please be aware.

What would have made this a top notch experience would be once of those semi-private booths with the lower seating that some places have, but this felt like some places we've been to in Japan as well. The only thing I didn't love was that I spent around $400 here (LOL), but we all had a great time so that was fine. Food-wise, we tried the following - Gobo Chips - a friend recommended these to us. He said eating these when drinking will prevent hangovers, headaches, any negative effects, etc. I thought it was cap, but all that beer and sake, I felt great the rest of the evening and morning despite just a few hours of sleep. Large serving of these chips, nicely seasoned, thin sliced, great texture. Even my daughter enjoyed these. Uni & US Wagyu Beef Sashimi - how decadent! Very flavorful. A bit too much sauce for me, but otherwise good. Salmon Truffle Carpaccio - this was one of my fave small plates. Fresh sashimi with ikura. YUM!! Chicken & Green Onion Skewers - Pretty good chicken. My daughter even ate the onions without realizing. Amazing. Chicken Karaage - the daughter's favorite! Goes very well with the beer too. Assorted Tempura - nice assortment of shrimp and veggies, with the tempura dipping sauce. Ribeye Ponzu Steak - beautifully cooked and flavorful. We started with the above, and the food came at various times, but the waits weren't long so we appreciated that. We were still hungry, so we ordered some more stuff - Premium Sashimi - min of 2 orders so we did that. It was good, but I expected a lot more for premium sashimi. It looked more of a single portion, but beautifully presented. Chazuke - we got some for us all - both salmon and mentaiko. Best dish to end a meal at an izakaya. Warm dashi with the riceball in there, seaweed, topped with either the salmon or mentaiko. Subtle flavors, but really delicious. We then looked at a dessert menu and decided to go elsewhere for some sweets. Would def come back to try their pressed sushi, and if we weren't all picky eaters, we'd try their set meal as well.
