Worst sushi I have EVER had. WinCO Sushi is 10X better. Sushi bar had not been cleaned and had crusty stuff all over it and drink rings. Waitress was nice but not properly trained and didnt know the difference between Nigiri and Sashimi. The rice was horrible and I think it was what was killing the flavor. My order was to go and I didn't get my Unagi. Everything was bland and had no flavor. Maybe I'm coming down with something, and If I am I will revise my review. I had a Spider roll and a Caterpillar roll and you cant tell the difference in taste. Uni tasted very strange, bitter aftertaste. (I hope I don't get sick from it. I have charcoal pills so wish me luck) Sorry Yamamori. You must try harder. I really hate to torpedo a new sushi restaurant, but that was really bad. I will try once more in a couple of months. This place is comically bad. The portions are ridiculously tiny, the prices are average but not great for what you get, and the food is mediocre at best. The pictures of the food are before anything was touched--the sparse plate of chicken teriyaki was $8 and bento box was $12. The "salad" in the bento was a few leaves of iceberg lettuce, the tempura was all vegetables, and the California roll had a sliver of imitation crab that looks like it was taken directly from the package to the roll. So bland. At $30 for these two meals plus a 12oz Sapporo we expected better. Would not recommend and we won't be coming back. read more

I'm pleasantly surprised to find this beautiful sushi restaurant so close to home. Very clean, nice high back booths for a little privacy. There is a big screen tv on, for sports I assume. For lunch, I tried the house sushi roll, the Yamamori, with tempura shrimp, cream cheese, avocado, and much more. Absolutely delicious! Beautiful presentation and plenty of food for a meal. Ordered a bento box and the ca roll was sitting with all of the hot food. Why not have it in a separate container? I also ordered tonkatsu ramen. The description said pork, fishcake, fried onion. I received beef instead of pork? I also didn't get fishcake or onion. It was so off. The broth was creamy yes but it lacked so much flavor. There were random pieces of veg in it and just a wet fried egg. I have never received the ramen in a to go cup like this. Just threw the whole thing away tbh. read more

I thought I would give this place a second try after having a bad meal there a few months ago. There has been no change. The quality of the food is low and the rice in the sushi is the worst bland rice I've ever eaten. The rolls are mostly rice so you would think at least it would be good. Went there for lunch and it was pretty good. They didn't seem to have their system as to who got drinks, who got the orders worked out yet. Eventually they figured it out. I got a Las Vegas roll and it was pretty good and a fair amount of food for the price. My father got a large bowl of egg noodle soup and said it was really good. Tried out this new spot today, ordered a Teriyaki Bento Box to-go. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the food. The tempura veggies were great, I was happy to see more than broccoli, there was also zucchini and sweet potato. The chicken was diced and pretty dry. Would have preferred larger pieces of chicken, but the teriyaki sauce was tasty and made up for it. CA roll was really good and there was quite a bit of food overall for the price ($10). I'm happy Dinuba has a decent sushi spot, and I'll probably go again sometime. Service was really nice. Hope to see them brush off the opening jitters and settle into a good routine. read more

Las Vegas roll was pretty good. Got bento boxes, no miso soup, the "salad" was lettuce with no dressing, the $1 extra chow mein tasted like white rice mixed with soy sauce, teriyaki beef wasn't that bad, CA rolls weren't good, and the vegetable tempura had no flavor. This is one of my top spots to visit when I'm back home. The becky roll is everything I've ever dreamed of. Everything always taste fresh and made to order. One word about the fried wontons, Delicious! I would go back for a weekend visit just for that alone. Not sure what the vibe was about those two reviews about "getting sick" food poisoning isn't instant. Maybe they ate too much, I feel that. I tend to overeat too. No complaints about the water either, I'm not going to judge a sushi place with elitist water snob vibes, to those I say, try France. In a time with such uncertainties we should hold up small businesses for trying and continuing to stay open, and for giving people in a small community the ability to still work. Remember that they are doing their best, no need to bash a place just because they didn't offer a refund. They aren't the mega-corps that one is used to. My wife and I have made this our go to place for midday dining. The food is great with beautiful plating and the happy our specials are very affordable. Their sushi is well made and the staff is polite and attentive. My only real complaint is the bathrooms. They could stand to be cleaned a bit more, and the timer for the motion sensor on the lights clicked off while I was in the stall, leaving me to do my business in the dark. Except for suddenly darkening bathrooms and the occasional bad movie on the dining area TV, the place has great atmosphere. I definitely recommend it. read more

The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and fast, but as far as a sushi restaurants goes this one does not go far. I ordered a sashimi plate just to see what kind of fish they'd put out; for $20 bucks you do not get as much as you'd expect from other sushi places. The quantity could be forgiven if only the quality exceeded it which it disappointly did not. The fish was discolored and pale and was firm from being stale, a horrible sign for any sashimi dish. I'm glad I didn't get sick the next day. Among other things, the amount of wasabi they give you is very scarce and hardly enough to put on your sushi. I haven't had the chinese food here so I really can't say how it is, but I heard mixed reviews from the people I went with for lunch. But as for Japanese food, you're better off going somewhere other than here if you want your money's worth. read more

I've ordered Mapo tofu on several different occasions and literally every single time it's made differently with different vegetables....there's no consistency at this place. Also the sushi isn't well tasting either it doesn't seem as fresh as it should be. I went here once to try it out. I ordered a simple teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies. It was not very appetizing. The chicken was chunks of dried chicken breast drenched in soy sauce. The rice was also drenched in soy sauce and the broccoli had no flavor. I could have made something better myself as the dish was too salty. I've definitely had much better Japanese food. The restaurant was very well put and aesthetically pleasing to the eye and the music they played was very modern and inviting for younger age groups but not too crazy for older age groups. We brought my mother in law for her birthday last night and she loved it. Upon entering, there is this cute little hallway with a fountain on the way and a gorgeous door. We were greeted promptly by waitresses who told us to choose anywhere to sit. We decided to sit in a booth. Our waitress brought us the menus and we ordered baked mussels for appetizers way before we ordered our sushi, but we didn't get it until after they brought out our sushi. I ordered the spiro roll which had tempura crab, tempura shrimp, cucumber and avocado and raw salmon on top. I had them deep fry it, they did leave the salmon raw on top, but I didn't mind. It wasn't one of the best deep fried rolls I had, kind of bland for me, but you can tell that they made it to order because it practically burned my mouth. My husband ordered the Mexican roll which blew me away. I ate it and it just tasted like me. It was all the elements of my personality all wrapped up in a sushi. It had the perfect taste and the perfect amount of spice. He was surprised that I did not order the Mexican roll, but it is definitely something I would order next time I am in Dinuba. The baked mussels were absolutely delicious. I did have to ask for wasabi because they didn't provide it like other sushi restaurants. My mother in law had a steak terryaki bowl and loved it. My mother in law is very picky, but she kept saying this is her new favorite place and that she will definitely be returning. We also ordered tempura and it was so good and fresh. We had to wait for the food to cool down. Another thing we had to cap off our night was sake. My mother in law never tried sake before and she loved it. I like to inebriate her on her bday, lol. She didn't take it like shots though. She sipped on it and loved it. We got the nigori sake which was creamy and fruity at the same time and for all the food and all three of us, the price was fair! The waitresses were nice, I did have to flag ours down for a refill even though it was slow. The grey brick wall bar area is so cute. They have tons of sake and beer to choose from. They also were able to take care of everything in a timely manner because my husband and his mom were in a hurry to go back and watch the final episode of The Middle. You can't mess with their shows. Overall, good experience. Just some little tweaks here and there and I wish they served coca cola instead of pepsi. I'm glad that Dinuba has something like this and hope that that this place has longevity. I will definitely return! read more

I've ate here 3 times, all 3 times have been terrible. The orange chicken was horrid, the teriyaki chicken was extremely dry and tasted like something made in a microwave, and the amount of fish in their sushi rolls is a joke. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that my server was very attentive. I know it's the only sushi place in town, but I would steer away. read more

Very poor on service. Went there on Valentine's Day evening.Restaurant was 1/3 full. Was greeted and said will be with you in a minute. Four minutes goes bye and another waitress says, I will be with you in a minute. Three more minutes goes by. By now there is another couple waiting to be seated behind us. Two more minutes goes by and I get another waitress says will be with us in a minute. A third party arrives with kids, and not waiting they just go ahead and see themselves in a booth and a waitress attends to them. The couple behind us walks out and leaves, so we walk out and left and ended up having a delicious dinner at the golf course. I have no intentions on going there ever again! read more

This place is not what is seems. The owners are Chinese. The lunch and dinner selection are limited. My father ordered sweet and sour chicken dinner and only received the chicken on plate with no rice or chow main. I ordered the unagi bowl and the portions were small. The seaweed salad was only a teaspoon portion and the unagi was only five thin slices and not a lot of texture and flavor. read more

3rd day of opening: went to grab lunch with the coworkers. We arrive a little after 11:30 to avoid the rush crowd. We were greeted and seated. The place wasn't so packed yet. A few seconds of sitting down, our waitress asked for drinks. I didn't have time to look at their drink menu but I always get water anyways so it wasn't a biggie. After 10 min of lookin thought the menu, we've decided and our waitress returned. We waited almost half an hour for our food. I ordered their house roll, the Yomamori Roll. It was ok. I've had better..... they also delivered with no wasabi and ginger so had to ask for it. I tried the fried rice and the tepanyaki beef my coworker ordered. It def was not authentic Japanese food. Our waitress never came back to check up on us nor refill our drinks (I know they're busy). By the time we were done with our food, place was packed and people were waiting in lines at the front. We got our tab but it wasn't split. So we had to go to the front and pay. We waited for another 10 min to pay. I understand they're new and everything is not altogether yet but overall the food was ok, not the best, and the service def has room for improvement.
