Great cozy little spot with very tasty authentic Raman and Saki. Very friendly staff helpful.

Tonkatsue spicy ramen

Great spicy tonkatsu and nice cold salad to start. Good beer selection and fun. Shrimp appetizer was also good.

Yama Ramen in Killington, Vermont is a decent ramen spot (probably only) if you're craving ramen. Presentation was great, but that was it. The broth was not that flavorful, the noodles were pretty generic, and the soft boiled egg, was just a soft boiled egg. Not marinated. The slice of chashu belly was spot on. Honestly, other than the chashu and it's about a step up from the packaged ramen at a grocery store and or cup of noodles from college. The demographic of the area suits the people they attract, which made sense as the menu was more like a "Asian restaurant" that just happen to serve Ramen. The place had an identity crisis as menu had all other countries like Vietnamese Sandwiches, Chinese Bao, and Thai inspired appetizers... but again, the people there wouldn't know the difference, so the location is perfect. The seating can get pretty cramped, as traditional ramen seating: people would eat, finish, and leave. I observed a lot of people still sitting and chatting after finishing their meal. Unfortunately we had to sit in another room just to enjoy the meal right by the entrance and even after we finished, the table was still fully occupied. You would think from a business standpoint, the restaurant would be more efficient so they can bring in more customers.

Friendly service. Delicious ramen. Furikake fries were really good. We love it. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Service today was super pleasant and really fast. The restaurant has cool artwork and good music vibes. The food was exactly what we needed on a rainy day!

We love it here! We are local for a good part of the year and also have traveled / eaten our way throughout the US... this is really good ramen. You can customize your options with pork broth + tofu; there are also purely vegan / vegetarian options to choose from also. Service is great - you place your order at the register and then get your number and bring it to one of the ~20+ or so seats they have for dine in. Edamame is fresh and well seasoned. They have sake too! Complimentary tea is available as soon as you walk in a great for warming up after chilly leaf peeping or skiing / snowboarding. Thank you Yama for being part of our community!

Pork broth Ramen with only veggies

First of all, I was quite impressed by the Japanese inspired decor, welcome tea and the fun animation on the big screen. Than, I received the warmest welcome and got to personalize my Ramen (I get pork broth with veggies only.) My order was made to go but when I got to my place, I literally almost called them to say OMG! They nailed it! Everything was fresh and tasty! Don't miss a visit to this restaurant. Tell them Jae sent you!

Wow, this place was AMAZING. The ramen and broth had so much flavor! The employees were very friendly and I enjoyed a nice cider. The ramen is on the pricier side but worth it in my opinion.

I absolutely love ramen. Now that that's out of the way let me start by saying Yama Ramen is fantastic! As a travel nurse I'm blessed to get to explore the country and indulge in all varieties of amazing food but good ramen is and always will be my favorite. When coming to Vermont didn't expect to find a great ramen spot. The staff is awesome and always super friendly. I usually start out with the gang gang shrimp and an order of their bao buns. The shrimp is super crunchy with the perfect amount of spice. I normally learn towards pork bao buns but holy crap the chicken is the way to go. Perfectly seasoned super crunchy prince of fried chicken with cucumber and a some spicy sauce. Perfection. The Tonkonsu ramen is my go to here. Delicious broth with roasted corn, wood ear mushrooms egg and a hearty piece of pork. Delicious. I recommend getting an additional order of ramen noodles because with the shrimp and boa you'll definitely have enough for a left over meal. Thanks for all the great food.

The food at Yama ramen is excellent! Went with 4 other people and everyone really enjoyed their food, however, the queue was a big mess. I get it, it's so close to Killington and who doesn't want ramen after a long day on the mountain but I do think there could be improvements such as offering menus outside of the main dining area so people could be prepared to order their food and thereby reduce the overall wait. I also feel that the seating arrangement was kind of a mess. It's counter service so you just have to hope and pray there's a spot for you to sit and eat. I noticed so many patrons were just sitting on their phones for long periods of time after finishing their food- something kind of unfair where there were literally so many people waiting for tables. And to be honest- ramen REALLY needs to be eaten at a table. I think with some thoughtful redesign of the space to accommodate more patrons (who are there because the food rocks!) it would be a place I'd visit again. But I wouldn't recommend it just because of the headache to find a seat, unless you have a good back up plan to take your food to go.

A food is ok but on salty side. Price seems to bit also on a bit pricey side considering it's ramen.

Despite the packed house, servers were friendly and reasonably attentive, and while the food came out slow, that's to be expected. I wouldn't say it was unreasonable at all considering the volume, AND they were churning out a ton of to-go orders. No televisions in here, which I loved, and a great vibe. Tons of people just having a great time. Great non-alcoholic drink menu. About to celebrate three years of sobriety, and I truly appreciate that. The food was good-great, depending. My wife got a salad with pulled pork and I got the brisket. Both were just "fine" and the meats desperately needed sauce. The brisket was pretty dry, which was disappointing. We also split a side of the smoked mushrooms, which we thought were good, and the pasta salad, which was unfortunately quite bland and not very noteworthy at all despite using pasta from the acclaimed Gallus. Now here's the sleeper: the dry rub wings were incredible. Some of the best I've ever had! Don't miss out on these just because they're on the appetizer menú. If I came back I'd just get a double order of these bad boys. Sweet and smoky and cooked to perfection. Absolute 10/10.

Our waiter was super attentive and even though it took some time for the food to come out, I think given the quality of everything we ate, it was worth it. I got the raspberry mint mojito cocktail which was delicious and I pinched a sip or two of kid's lemonade made from fresh lemons, perfect level of sweetness. We tried the sweet potato pakoras and lumpia and the trio of house made dips (we liked the green mint-e one best). Everything was tasty, including the sauces that came up with them. Our kids shared the ramen which they split into two large bowls that didn't even look like a split dish given how much it was. My wife got the spare ribs which melted off the bones and had great flavor. The scallop dish I ordered came with six scallops that were a good size and also came with some gnocci, a delicious and unique sauce, and an unusual lobster with veggie type of ceviche salad accoutrement. I have the sense that the menu changes regularly here. The chef/owner came out and greeted us after the meal to ask how everything was and we could honestly respond that it was our best meal of the week. Subsequently we tried to sample many items from their desert menu and again Bastard did not disappoint. Surprisingly the "S'Mores," a more adult take on the kid's classic, was one of our favorites. Given the unique take on a variety of globally inspired dishes and great attention to detail, I would love to try Bastard again the next time I'm in the area.

We followed it to the 18th century farmhouse in Londonderry, VT. When we got there, it was not open so I took out my phone and made a reservation on the spot for dinner in two days. Since this was the week before our anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves to this experience. The menu left us guessing at first. There was no delineation of appetizers and entrees. When it was explained to us that items at the top of the menu were considered appetizers because of the portion size, it was a little clearer. But we were still left guessing what was the portion size of these items. We thought we would start with the sourdough rye. It came piping warm with smoked butter. The smoked butter had a bolder taste than your typical sweet cream butter. He wanted the House Made Orecchiette which was a duck sausage but our server said it had a bit of spice but would be manageable. Thankfully, she asked the chef and reported back that it really was spicy so he changed his order to match mine which was the Seared Labelle Farm Duck Breast. Labelle Farm is where they sourced the duck. I love that they know where their food comes from! We both enjoyed the duck immensely. It came with Solo's very own farm fresh vegetables. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake with blueberry compote. Someone brought it with a candle and said, "happy birthday or anniversary." Nice that they put a candle on the cheesecake but I did say it was our anniversary on the reservation. I guess that kinda ruined it for me that she didn't bother to look what special event we were celebrating. The meal was lovely. The farmhouse setting was quaint. You hear all the footsteps of the hardwood floors whenever someone walked. My only critique was that it was VERY warm inside. There was one window that was slightly cracked open but no breeze was felt. It was so warm that we had to ask for ice in our water. I think our meal would have been more enjoyable if we weren't sweating our way through dinner. I guess 18th century farmhouses didn't have air conditioning.

Dining here was an experience of being nourished in every aspect, including the food that was mouthwatering, delicious, and fresh from the land that the charming old home sits on. Chloe stopped to chat with us at the end of our meal, giving our already memorable meal an even more personal and heart-warming experience. We felt so lucky to have enjoyed a meal at this very special place atop the hill in South Londonderry!

I skeptically thought "how good could sushi be in New Hampshire and especially if not run by Japanese folks?" I was glad to be proven wrong! We ordered a variety of different kinds of sushi rolls and sashimi and everything was super fresh and delicious, including the following types of rolls: avocado, california, shrimp tempura, tuna. We also ordered the bi bim bap in the hot stone bowl which was good, not the very best I've ever had (comparing to eating dolsot bibimbap in Seoul, HMarket food markets), but we ate almost all of it and took the rest for leftovers which were polished off the next day, so perhaps even very good! The meals all came with complimentary banchan (small side dishes) of cold bean sprouts, broccoli, pickled spicy zucchini, flavored boiled peanuts (my least favorite banchan), and miso soup. Loved the bean sprouts and broccoli and they brought us more when we finished the first round. Next time we're in Hanover we'll visit Sushiya again for sure!
