Tried to use the company through State Farm. Ended up escalating to customer service through insurance because the times kept changing and never saw a truck dispatched through the link they send to keep you updated on your tow truck coming. I would believe the other reviews about how long this company takes and the lack of communication. State Farm should cancel their contract with this service provider. I can't say anything about the service because they failed to dispatch a driver after updating the system but clearly had no intention of following through. read more

Assigned this company through my insurance, was told the wait would be 30 minutes multiple times. Once it hit 3 hours, I just chanced it and drove to the shop with all my electric alerts on in a car that wouldn't accelerate above 20 mph. Once there, got a message that my tow was "no longer able to be provided by this service." This was after a 12 hour shift on a Saturday so also limited on sleep and how much time is available to fix my car before Monday. Everyone working here has an IQ under 75. The guy that picked it up didn't speak English and said the car was going to my house. So I drive to my house and wait for 30 minutes. Call agin, as it turns out it's going 30 minutes away in the opposite direction. No communication whatsoever. Nobody had any idea what was even happening. I am a State Farm Insurance policyholder and this towing company refused to do the request twice! I understand the distance they may have had to travel, but if you're going to work for an insurance company, you should be willing to go the extra mile pun intended! Not only that, the person I had spoken to over. The phone was short and unfriendly with me considering I was stranded in the middle of a farm town 20 miles away from home! I spent five hours trying to get a tow truck to go get my Jeep and all I got was silence on the second attempt. Called for a tow. I specifically asked if the key needed to be present 2x. The dispatcher even placed me on hold to check. I had kids in the car & wanted to leave b/c the car wasn't in a safe neighborhood. So I stayed clearly the key will NOT be present. The tow bed arriving after a hr+ wait & stated we needed to give the key. The dispatcher then calls me, the driver jumped back in the car said his "cousin would be coming" & pulled off & the dispatcher hung up on me. first of all, they came out super quick even though they likely had a very busy few days with the 10 inches of snow we got. Second, they were very gentle with my car. Third, the driver, Moe, was super friendly and even called me to tell me my car got there OK. Yaffo Towing STL is by far the WORST towing service offered in this city! The tow was ordered at 9:30PM on July 26th, The company let us know that it was going to be about a 30-45 minute wait. Which is fine since it was a busy Saturday. An hour and 30 minutes pass by and we give the company a call back. They responded with that it'll be 35-75 minutes for the tow to be there, at this point me and my wife were furious! It was almost 90 degrees out AT NIGHT and we were in a stuffy car with no AC at the time. Luckily we were picked up by our father in law. Even then we called them again and they stated that it will be another 45 minutes for the tow truck to pick up the car. We took off our brand new temp plates and hit the road back to our house. Once we got home I loaded up and decided to watch the car while waiting on the driver to get there, keep in mind once I got to the car it was 2AM THE FOLLOWING DAY!!!! I called back and they said that it was going to be a 15-20 minute wait for the driver to get there. I waited another hour and the tow truck got there at 3:01AM on the dot. I had so many words that I wanted to say but at this point I couldn't risk loosing the tow. If you're needing a tow in a pinch or a tow in general, DO NOT COUNT ON Yaffo Towing! My Tesla had a drained battery and was unable to open car. Tesla advised I had to get it towed in. My insurance company assigned a tow company (I will not mention) that showed up 4 hours late and brought wrong truck and could not help me. Waisted day. I wanted a different tow company. They assigned me Yaffo Towing. Fantastic, awesome job! They showed up 30 minutes early. Mo assessed the situation and with his professional attitude and knowledge of the car was able to start, access car without having to tow it in. So very pleased with this company! Five stars! One of their trucks door dinged my car and taking the paint off completely and being super noticeable and now they don't want to take responsibility!! The tow truck 107 driver saw when he hit it. I have 2 witnesses and they don't want to fix it. The fact that he hit it and left is the frustrating part. I take care of my car so that someone else can come and ding it damaging the paint and not want to take responsibility for it. Super frustrating. Exttemely horrible experience!!!! My son's car stopped on the expressway near 55th and the Dan Ryan. I get it: not a great neighborhood. The eta was 60-90 min. After 90 min, we called and they said it would be 25 more minutes. After 30 min, we called back was told they woukd call us in 15 min with an eta. We never got a callback. We called roadside again ans Yaffo said there was a traffic jam at 4am and they were 25 min away. After 25 min, you guessed it! Still no tow company! Called roadside again. The lie Yaffo told: the 1st truck broke down, the second truck has been stuck in 4am traffic for nearly an hour. At 2pm, I tried to schedule a tow for 4pm. They called me and said they could get there in 16-19 minutes so I said yes and let my ride go. 30 minutes later they still had not arrived. I sat on hold for 60 minutes without them answering. I contacted insurance company who had arranged tow to complain. 5 minutes later tow service took me off hold and said driver was on another call and would arrive in 30 minutes. In 30 minutes it will be 4pm the original time I tried to schedule. I have been stuck in the car in 100 degree temperatures for 2 hours while they squeeze other calls In before me. It took almost 3 hours to get a truck after using Stellantis roadside assistance. Driver was speeding through my neighborhood, 40+ in 25 mph zones, then ignored a red light to turn. Upon arrival at service, driver was incredibly rude, telling me to get out then scolding me to "you have to say thank you!" As I stood outside not sure what next step was! ***ZERO STARS*** This is by far the most inept, deceptive towing business in Chicago. Yaffo was dispatched by my insurance company's roadside service provider after I got a flat tire. I made the request at 7:45 pm and was told the wait would be between 60-75 minutes. After an hour with no updates I called them and was told it would be another 30-45 minutes. This cycle repeated itself over and over until I gave up at 11:30 and called the police for assistance in changing my tire. It got to the point that I was pleading for them to be honest about their arrival time as I had my 84 yr old Mother and daughters in the car with me. They did nothing but lie and would never provide a straight answer as to where their driver was which is impossible since the trucks are equipped with GPS. When the police arrived to assist us he insisted on speaking with Yaffo's because he couldn't believe that a roadside assistance request could drag out for this long considering I had young kids with me, the temperature (25 degrees), my concerns about our safety, etc. The woman the police officer spoke with was so rude and dismissive that he was nearly speechless. If your insurance company ever dispatches this company REFUSE to use them!! Yaffo's has no business being in an insurance company's network of reputable roadside providers. read more

However I can't help but wonder if American Family Insurance reserves their services for their customers that live within certain zip codes and continue to allow them to act as their agent after receiving such horrible reviews. American Family needs to drop them. They are a menace. They are very disrespectful. They ignored all of my correspondence and they do not even belong to Better Business. That's telling. American Family should Stop letting them act as their roadside assistance agents. I thought that road service could offer me some assurance when I'm in need of a tow. This company scheduled a pick-up between 8 and 9 AM, but they showed up at 11:30 AM with the wrong equipment to tow my vehicle. They then proceeded to try to jumpstart my car, knowing there was a kill switch on my keyfob. I hope they did not destroy a $600.00 battery I had just purchased. The guys at Yaffo were, by far, the best, quickest, and most professional roadside service I have ever received. My wife's Mercedes broke down around 7:30 AM in the middle of a side street. I put in the call to State Farm, and I was told that Yaffo would provide the service. Moe showed up on time, and called 10 minutes before he arrived. He pushed the car out, hauled it on the flatbed, and delivered the car to my mechanic with absolutely no issues. Absolutely first class service on all counts. I don't think that I've ever had a roadside response time any less than a couple hours in the past - even when my vehicle was on the side of the Eisenhower. However, I know that these AAA/insurance calls are not on the top of any towing company's priority list. It sucks for the customers, but I understand it. So for Yaffo to come out during the early-morning rush hour, and arrive on time, makes them all the more impressive. Well done, and thank you. Edit: I have read some of the past negative reviews, but I can only speak to my own experience. Requested service through our insurance company and was originally given a 60-90 minute eta. They would not update us unless we complained through our insurance provider, and even then would give us 30 min eta update each time we asked. We ended up being stranded for 5 hours. Got a tow through my insurance because of a broken ball joint. The two guys that showed up had no idea what they were doing I don't even think one of them worked for the company because they both had the same name on their shirt.... Broke my trans axel because they winched the car on it even though we explicitly told them not to do that. Did it anyway. Then sped 45+ to my house over the railroad to where my car was going airborne on the tow bed.... Then pulled it off and exploded my oil pan because they broke my front axle...told me "your car was already fucked up" wouldn't give me their names or a number to the supervisor, I called the police and am making a n insurance claim. DO NOT CALL THEM. they turned a $350 fix into quite literally totalling my car...oh and once the oil started spilling out of my car that they caused they tried to book it out of my driveway and I had to call the police. One star is being generous! Tow was ordered through State Farm at 7:30pm, waited with the car until 10:30pm. Called to find out that no one had been dispatched, was told driver would be there in 30 minutes, 12:15 am still no driver called back again and was told the driver was 10 minutes away, waited another 45 minutes. Car was finally picked up at 1:10am. I was given a different timeframe every time I called and was also told I would get text and email updates, never received any communication regarding the tow. When I called at 12:15am I was told I would get a phone call when the car was picked up, that also never happened I had to call back and was placed on hold for 20 minutes. Customer service and communication is absolutely awful and extremely stressful especially after being in an accident which is already stressful enough. read more
