Yacky Shack is fantastic. What a gem. We had the bulgogi tacos: served with warm tortillas, a bowl of seasoned steak strips, kimchi, cilantro and a little flavorful dumpling on the side....ahhhhhhhh. Delish. Assemble the tacos yourself, and add any of the awesome sauces: Yacky sauce, hot honey mustard or a sweet-spicy creamy aioli. Tasty and tender. The beef was fantastic and plentiful. The egg roll was crispy and light, and filled with flavor. The "Yackys" are dumplings of various fillings, chicken, beef and pork. Fried or steamed and with the various sauces, these were lovely, tasty and perfect. I highly recommend the pork, and fried if you want to indulge. Perfect. High praise also for their fried rice. Nice, tender chunks of chicken, and ordered "medium" spice was a perfect bite. Nothing was greasy despite being fried, and the ingredients were of excellent quality. Nice tea selection and self serve drinks and extra sauces (plus containers available for taking home leftovers). There were a lot of lunch patrons present, and the food was coming out quickly. The Chinese dishes looked really good as well, so that leaves me something to get back for. And preferably sooner than later. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful as well as prompt. The place appears brand new and impeccably clean. Simple but clean and bright. This place is a total win. Completely worth the short drive to Muscatine from the QC. I'll be back as this is a new local favorite.

Good food, both their Chinese and Korean options are good. I would suggest the kimchi fried rice if you stop in.

Fresh and hot. The Yacky's are well worth the visit. Suggest you poke around the menu for a bunch of visits. It's all great.

Clueless staff, unwelcoming decor, and overall cringeworthy atmosphere. Food tasted pretty gross and it felt microwaved. Very unsatisfactory

Located in a mall, it looks unassuming. There were about 7 tables inside and many more tables on the outside in the mall. I ordered the jjampbong (seafood noodle soup), which is a common dish in Korean owned Chinese restaurants. It was delicious and spicy. I really liked how you could still taste some of the char from some of the ingredients being flash cooked in a wok before being added to the soup. I have to say this might have been my favorite experience of eating jjampbong, and I've had some really good ones in Los Angeles. I came back the following day for lunch again. This time I ordered the baby clam thin noodle soup. Another hit! The flavor of the soup base was spot on, and the clams were already taken out of the shell, which made it more convenient to eat. I would definitely order both again if I visit Iowa City again. The food and service were excellent. The owner checked up on me to make sure everything was good. I highly recommend this Korean restaurant. Who knew Korean food could be this good in Iowa?!

We tried their snow-aged sake this time (yes, aged in snow for three years!) and it was incredible--smooth, clean, and unlike anything else you'll find around here. As always, the sashimi was fresh, beautifully plated, and melt-in-your-mouth good. We mentioned we were celebrating a special event, and they surprised us with the cutest orange "bear" fruit carving. It's that kind of thoughtful, personal touch that makes this place unforgettable. I can never resist their Taiwanese popcorn chicken--crispy, tender, and packed with flavor--and the Three Cup Chicken tasted incredibly authentic. You can really tell this place is run by owners who care about getting it right, both in taste and presentation. Warm ambiance, kind service, and dishes that actually taste like home--Sushiya is a rare gem in the Midwest.

I only visit this area…read morewhen I'm seeing my best friend, and she usually takes me to Red Ginger--which I find subpar and overpriced for what you get. Sushiya, on the other hand, is the go-to spot. The flavors here are superior in every way. The seating inside is limited, but you can watch the sushi chefs working on the line, which is fun to see. It's clear they handle a lot of online orders because they were constantly busy. There's also a kitchen in the back for cooked dishes, though it's not visible from the dining area. Everything we tried was delicious, and I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. I especially enjoyed the lunch portion of the Katsu Don--it had a lot of onions, but I didn't mind. I did ask for extra spicy mayo for my two deep-fried sushi rolls, as they were a bit bland on their own. The spicy mayo seemed house-made, with far more spices than I've seen at other sushi restaurants, and it was genuinely spicy, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant itself was quiet, aside from my best friend's child having a little meltdown at the end of the meal when his food wasn't coming fast enough. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd happily return.
