I don't eat Chinese food that often, maybe a few times a year - I'm always had a decent experience at World Buffet, but this last time a week ago it was really bad - I ordered Wonton Soup cause I've always enjoyed theirs, but what I found was an apparently mix of wonton and egg drop soup I didn't ever dare try to eat - the pork egg rolls were terrible. I went to this place with my family. First of all I will say there is a wide selection of foods here at the World Buffet, this restaurant gave me an opportunity to try new foods such as squid (very good by the way) and a place where I could try all my favorites like coconut shrimp (also really good). The staff were also very nice and they gave me great service! I would definitely come back here anytime! read more

Just witnessed a cockroach walking across the cutting board where they make the sushi.. that we had just eaten 10 min prior. Immediately put the plate down. We told the lady about it and all she offered a 20% discount... HA. Absolutely disgusting! Side note: Their resolution to the problem was "we will check to see what is going on." The food was cold. The chicken was very chewy in some spots. I question if its actually chicken. Theres atleast 8 people getting food that don't have masks on, and they purposely don't put the correct of syrup in the soda machine, so they save money. That makes the pop very bland and it doesn't even taste like pop. I've had close friends that have had bad experiences here too. One saw them pouring someone's drink into anothers person, instead of a refill. There has been multiple sighting of roaches and other bugs in here. I do not recommend at all read more

This is not a bad Asian buffet... I wish it was little bit better as if there is more vegetarian/vegan options. Since I am vegan, I was disappointed that sushi was not made just vegetables but they have seafood in it. I also hoped that they would have option of tofu and they don't have any at all. I got fried rice and string beans, they weren't that bad. Hoping next time i come back they'll have more options for vegan, vegetarians people. read more

Excellent food on a large buffet. Meats and veggies cooked for you on the hot grill if you choose and there is also sushi. I always find plenty to enjoy and leave very satisfied. I often order take-out as well and love it! read more

I was in town to visit a friend for dinner. While my daughter and I waited I went over to the buffet to make a salad I noticed that the tomato's were covered mold. I didn't inspect the rest of the food, I just wanted to go. It was so disgusting I alerted the staff and the manager- their response was not an apology but telling me I need to pay for my drinks! Really?! I hope that the health inspector gets there soon! read more

World buffet is really bad Chinese food. They use cheap canned sauces instead of making from scratch. I tried most of the chicken dishes to try to find something good. All of them had small pieces of poor quality chicken. Tough meat like from retired laying birds. Birds only good for soup stock. The sweet dishes were much too sweet. The ice cream was ok. The fruit also. Salad bar was poor with only iceberg lettuce. I left hungry and very disappointed. I will never return. read more

I don't know where to begin. The chicken tasted like was reheated. It was almost like it was coated with river or something. The inside is a very big space but the food is just not worth the price. My wife and I have it a couple of tries to give them a fair chance. The rice was dry and just nasty too. I tried a few different types of the chicken and it all tasted like reheated rubber. Holy Cow! This place is AWESOME! The selection, freshness, and price are all amazing. Started with the sushi, which was above average. Mostly rolls seaweed wraps and California type rolls, but they were very good. Very fresh. Also had Lo Mein, which was a little greasy for my taste. But the vegetables were very crunchy and fresh. The kiwi and other fruit were impressive on the salad bar. Overall, an excellent presentation and content of food. A huge step up from your standard buffet at a price that you absolutely cannot beat! read more

If I could give a lower review, I absolutely would. The last time I dined there, I left after having lunch with my husband. From the moment we walked in, there was an older man walking through the restaurant yelling at one of the employees. This went on throughout the duration of our meal. They walked through the restaurant yelling at each other over the tables of people eating. Although we arrived just after they opened they didn't have all of the food out and ready, and some was on the buffet still cold from the refrigerator. I waited at the hot and ready buffet and asked two different people to help me cook my selection. Ten minutes later, the man who had been yelling came out to prepare my noodles. While cooking them he continued to yell at others across the restaurant. He prepared my noodles and sloshed them onto a plate covered in grease. He then threw the plate in my direction slopping grease all over me and the buffet...all the while ignoring me and yelling still. I left my meal and went to the front asking to speak to a manager. They refused to reimburse any part of the meal and stated that the yelling was due to the couple that owned the establishment having a dispute. Two different employees both stated that there was nothing they could do about the poor service as they would loose their jobs over it. I asked to speak to the offending individual (the man that was yelling and prepared my noodles) however he hid in the kitchen and refused to come speak to me. They must not need the business...we used to eat here regularly, however this will be the last time. I expressed this to both staff that spoke to me, however neither appeared to be concerned. If you are looking for a peaceful decent meal, Look elsewhere. read more

Seems to be a hidden gem. Wonderful food, plenty of it, and reasonable prices. Surprised the place wasn't filled. Food was fresh and held at appropriate temperatures. I went with my frinds who go to college here and they say its great for people on a budget. I agree and I agree when they said it was better than most buffets in the surrounding cities. Peoria has a good buffet but we wernt about to drive there! so we came her and had fresh/ hot food, good selections of sides, grill to order(I had that and it was okay..TIP- ask for less salt than they normally add), and a slightly disappointing sushi section. Im going back for sure, but not going to be my first pick in the town of Galesburg. read more

Awesome!!! Huge selection. We have gone twice and I have yet to make it past the seafood. Lots of expensive dishes of shrimp, crab and fish. Lot of Chinese specialties and a Sushi bar and a stir fry station to make anything up on the spot for you. Roast beef carving station, lots of salads and a self serve ice cream freezer with high quality ice cream, not soft serve. Dinner was under 10.00 for all you can eat. If you are hungry you can not find a better deal! Lots of items on a regular full serve menu as well and great prices on take out. We sure wish they had one of these in Fresno. If we are ever in Galesburg again we will definitely stop again read more

This afternoon, while eating with my husband and a close friend, I noticed a worker coming out of the back with their face covered (as if to ward off a smell) and a "wet floor" sign. I knew that what was coming couldn't be good. My husband came back from the buffet to inform us that someone had literally pooped in the floor, and we soon learned that that's why the worker had their face covered, mainly because the entire staff was having a full-blown meltdown in the process and you could also smell it over the food. While my hearts breaks and goes out to the person who suffered this humiliation, the staff very clearly DID NOT handle it properly. It was very obvious what was happening. They were yelling across the restaurant at each other, and one worker was even gagging, VIOLENTLY. It was everywhere. All over the floor back in the buffet area. Someone stepped in it tracked it all over the place. Not ONCE did they shut it down to clean and sanitize. They just kept mopping while customers were still getting their food. I am completely disgusted that they kept this from those of us who were eating, and were still seating customers through all of this. Poop...ALL OVER THE FLOOR. They needed to close up immediately and handle this situation. It wasn't packed. They wouldn't have lost that much money. However, they chose to handle it poorly and UNSAFELY, embarrassing the dear person who had the accident and exposing the rest of us to a possible contamination. I can only wonder that if they were so careless in this situation, what else have the been careless with. The food was fine, but the whole place is one big health code violation. I won't be eating be there ever again. I strongly encourage anyone considering this place for their next meal to reconsider. read more
