My 2009 Mazda 5 mini van had a radio that was slowly dying and in any case didn't support bluetooth and had no screen for CarPlay. My goal was not to get thumping bass, but to get a couple more years with this car. Hands-free phone calls and a screen for navigation were must haves. Xtreme Sounds installed a Sony unit that does everything I needed. While I was getting the upgrade, I had them add a rear camera. It cost more than I originally budgeted, but I'm very happy with it all. I didn't have to rip the dash apart myself and they took care of little custom touches so the head unit works with my steering controls, etc. I consider it an investment that will allow me to wait a few more years before I need to shop for a new car. read more

Bought a "new to me" Jeep that already had an aftermarket head unit. Speakers didn't sound quite right though. Took it to one shop, left it with them to tint my windows, and asked them to look into the system and work up a price if the speakers needed to be replaced. Their quote was $3500!!! Said no thank you. Took it to Xtreme Sounds for a second opinion. Come to find out, the speakers were fine. Problem was too much "noise" turned on in the head unit with effects and not enough juice. Turned off effects, sound immediately improved, now more power! Wanted that extra punch in your back too. So, went with an awesome Kicker sub box set up that is designed for Jeep and allows you to still use cargo space. Amazing!!! Final price was less than half the other shop. These guys didn't seek out making the most off one transaction but making a customer happy. They were open and willing to help even before I had spent a dime. That's amazing customer service and that's why they earned my business. If we weren't moving across the country, they would do every vehicle I own now and every vehicle in the future. Sandy, you rock man! You handled me and my Jeep like you owned the shop. I was shocked when you said no. However owns this place, you got a great guy in Sandy. Give that man a raise!!! Talk about a terrific experience from beginning to end. If I ever need any more work done on my car's sound system, or if I know anyone who does, I will recommend Xtreme Sounds on Highway 92 in Woodstock. The two technicians I met, Sandy and Benji, were both professional, courteous, knowledgeable and easily available by phone. I needed to replace my car's original radio/CD player, so, after making the appointment, I dropped the car off in the morning when they opened, and by mid-afternoon they had it ready. At that time, Sandy was kind enough to sit down and show me the many functions and features on the new device before I headed out. Since then, I've had a couple of people comment on how professional-looking the installation is, despite the new unit being half the size of the original (they seamlessly installed an open "storage compartment" in the dash underneath the unit to make up for the size difference). Everything sounds brilliant, looks great, and I ended up spending way less than I thought I would. Excellent job. I was in need of a tune up from a stereo previously installed by a friend that was fading in and out, and also an XM radio install to an existing head unit. The staff (I believe the owner) was able to get me in on the same day as the call. He also did a great job on the install, and let me know where the previous install had failed and why. I would give zero stars if I could. Staff was rude and argumentative from the moment we walked in their door. I'd rather drive out of my way and spend more money than to be disrespected the way I was here today. This guy walked away from us 3 times while we were trying to talk to him. And to top it all off, after speaking to us like we were idiots, all but straight out calling us stupid, he sold us something that DOES NOT WORK FOR MY CAR. Excellent experience with Xtreme sounds. Dealt with Sandy directly, told him what I needed and he delivered. I had a Pioneer aftermarket double din stereo installed as well as upgrading my 2 rear deck lid speakers to a JBL set. At pickup my car was delivered with a flush screen install, USB port wired to a pocket directly under the stereo for easy access, microphone tucked up and away out of sight, and steering wheel controls retained. They even tuned my system to get the ultimate sound quality from my new setup. I've had it all in for a couple weeks now and no complaints. Pricing was as expected for good work, but definitely didn't break the bank. I'm sure you can find cheaper places, but you'll probably suffer on quality. Like they say, "Skilled work isn't cheap, and cheap work isn't skilled." Highly recommend Xtreme Sounds. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of totaling my car 200+ miles from my home and it was sent to a collision place close to Xtreme Sounds. I cold-called them with my desperate plea to remove my aftermarket stereo in about a 48 hour window before insurance claimed my car. The staff here agreed to take time from their competely-booked day, went to the collision place and removed my aftermarket stereo and all the parts from my car. They called me with updates and kept it safe until a relative came to get it and pay them. Thanks to Eric in particular and the whole Xtreme Sounds staff for making an already-stressful situation a little less difficult. read more
