An older lady with long straight grey/white seemed to have been following me. I was in several parts of the store, and no matter how long I was in an area she kept popping up and "working" right around and even behind me. Once I started noticing I would start browsing at a new area of the store and then poof! There she was again! Made it very uncomfortable, and being a POC I hate that it had to feel like this was racially-charged. NOT ONCE did she ask how everything was doing or if me or my partner needed help. This is a much smaller REI than usual, so they don't have as much of a selection. It's REI, so a lot of their inventory is higher priced. They can have some good promo deals, but their customer service is terrible.

You can also find basketball jerseys, football, soccer and baseball. I mainly came here to sell 3 football jerseys that I had originally planned to giveaway to goodwill, but after my son told me he sold his Air Jordan jacket here; well it was a no brainer to bring the jersey's here to sell. I honestly don't have a clue as to how much the jerseys would of sold for online and I didn't care to research it, but I will say the price I sold them for was reasonable. In todays economy anything helps! Plus I felt good helping a local store make their profit and being able to add the jerseys to their store so they could be sold. My kids, my wife, even my 80 year old parents spent 30 minutes and $300+ dollars in here. It's a fantastic store. It's a bit of an interesting location being next to the beach but if I lived in Santa Barbara I'd be here once a month. Most Staff were friendly, some were young and not too social but helpful. It was one of those things that would make a person never want to go there again. I felt bad for my grandson. I realize the cashier was probably just following company policy, but I felt like the 'policy' should change a little to keep a customer who would potentially come back in again and again.
