    Work in progress.

We had some cracks in our seven year old pool decking and I saw this company's ad pop up on Instagram. Joe was very quick to respond to me and came out within a few days to give us a quote. Wrote the $4000 contract and I paid him only $200 deposit. Everything seemed good. He said he'd get us scheduled within the next few weeks. Two weeks later I hadn't heard from him so I text him. He told me he'd most likely get is scheduled for the next week and would let me know soon. Then, his workers showed up one random morning, with no notice, as we were getting ready to go to work. We hadn't made arrangements for our dogs or moved any patio furniture. But we wanted to get it done so we quickly scrambled to let them in. They covered the pool in plastic (we didn't want to drain it) and went to work removing the old coating. Joe said it was hard to remove and they needed to rent a jack hammer. He didn't ask for more money but it felt as if he was complaining about the extra cost. (Shouldn't an experienced company expect concrete coatings to be difficult to remove and have the basic tools?) They removed the old coating and then started applying the new one the second day. On the third day, we returned home to see the plastic removed from the pool. I had to text him to see if they were finished and what the next steps were. He left no instructions. We had no idea when we could walk on it, get it wet, move furniture back, special maintenance, etc. He basically said, "Don't drag any thing heavy on it for a few days. It should be fine for light use now. Can you send me the rest of the money?" It felt very unprofessional. He didn't come to check the quality of the work or anything, but we were happy to have our pool back. I sent him the payment. The next day I messaged him asking for touch up paint. No response. A few days later we went out to use the pool and looked closer. The workers had left a huge mess around the perimeter of the pool. The coating that they had chipped off was half buried under the landscape rocks. (Photos attached) Concrete and paint overspray on the rocks. I messaged him to say I was disappointed with the mess. He said sorry and then reminded me how hard it was to remove it. I could deal with the mess and lack of communication but as we used the pool we started noticing the ground was hotter than it used to be. Hotter than the brick pavers around the area! We actually took it temperature and it was over 130°. I reached out to him about that and his only response was that the darker colors may be hotter. Wtf?! This is a pool deck that is supposed to be cooler and we can't walk on it barefoot now! Now, a crack has developed and he's not responded to me. (Text message shows he "read" my text) It's funny that his very first text to me said he covers his work with a ten year guarantee yet now he won't respond to my concerns about the temperature or crack. We are left with a patio pool deck that burns our feet, shows water stains with a tiniest amount of water, and a giant crack developing for $4000... I also find it weird that there are no reviews for him on Yelp even though he says he's been in business for years and years. He has the same photos on FB that are on here. I can't find any other reviews for him. I will update this review if Joe takes initiative to fix.

I read the previous review and got worried, but after meeting with Joe and going over the review I wanted to give him a shot. He did our pool kool decking, we got other estimates that were cheaper. When I asked about the stuff XRP was doing vs the other quote I got, I knew this guy wasn't playing. Day 1 came along, the team met with me, taped off the pool- drained 3 inches ( not the whole pool like the other quote I got) and went to work. Day 2: re grinded spots and layered the kool decking. DAY 3: Paint/ Coating Day, the guys were amazing. Cleaned up every day, and the job looks amazing!! Kool decking isn't going to be "cool" we live in the desert, so I know it will be cooler but still hot for our feet. Joe came in to inspect and tell me what I needed to do to maintain it. I'm so greatful and excited to do the garage floor next.. Thank you Joe and team XRP for a great job!

Steve and his brother lead an exceptional team--professional, on time, polite, and skilled. Our project included: Repairing our waterfall feature Replacing turf and installing a new drip system Removing 4-5 old trees and hedges, and planting new low-maintenance hedges and flowering bushes Revitalizing the dry river beds Installing new accent lighting and landscape rock Replacing backyard lampposts Installing a new security gate with privacy screen Coordinating with Sun City Anthem for privacy-screen approval along the fence line The crew worked steadily for about three weeks and completely transformed our property. Steve responded to our initial inquiry within minutes, came out quickly, and provided a detailed and accurate estimate. His communication with my husband throughout the project was outstanding. This impressed…read moreme because I contacted 5 different companies and only Rock N Block and one other one reached out to me in a timely manner. My backyard had never been done. It's been the same dirt lot since the house was built over a decade ago. We finally decided to get it done so our new dog could have a nice place to play, especially during the summers, where we can control the heat levels. JJ and associate came out quickly and made me feel really comfortable. There was no weird upselling (I wanted something really plain) and no fear mongering. I could tell immediately that we were going to go with Rock N Block so I cancelled my other appointment with a different company and put my deposit down right away. Within hours, JJ had the plans to me and I got the HOA paperwork started. Once that was done, I was scheduled immediately to have my yard worked on. The day of, the workers came, did a final measurement and got to work. It took 3 days but it came out exactly like I was promised and had envisioned myself. The workers were extremely friendly and self contained. They were responsible and trustworthy. They were also very concerned with my happiness. They asked me if things were looking good quite a few times. They literally made my yard perfect. I'm still looking for imperfections and cannot find them. If there were any complaints, the communication could be more but to be honest, they give information and don't feel the need to consistently remind you, which is also good. We did have a small hiccup where the workers didn't know they had to install a few other things but JJ made it right immediately and I can only be happy about that. I'd rather have the problem be solved immediately then get a phone call being told it would be done, although I can see how some people would want both. Pricing was fair in my opinion. I was told it should have been less expensive but I don't think so. The job is immaculate and the items are gorgeous with great quality. The craftsmanship means a lot to me and I would pay for it again. I wish I took some before pictures but I completely forgot to. Imagine a literal nothing of a yard. Now, it's gorgeous and I can't wait to accessorize!

He immediately understood what we were trying to achieve and even drew out the concept right there on the spot. Other companies took a day or even several days to get back to us, and only AFTER we followed up. Not Christian. His responsiveness and promptness was the reason we went with them. From beginning to end, Christian went above and beyond. As first-time homeowners, it was incredibly refreshing to work with a contractor who was genuinely invested in making sure we were happy. We felt like our project was in good hands and that we were getting real value for our money. Once HOA approval came through, the entire project was completed in less than a week -- only four days actually, which was impressive. Their crew was professional, fast, and detailed. Even with the quick turnaround, we didn't find any issues with the final results. Thank you Christian!!!

I spoke to Bill and described the work and he agreed to come out the following day to give us an estimate. After viewing the work that morning, Bill sent the estimate that afternoon, and said that if we all were in agreement he could have his crew out the next day bright and early. The next day the crew showed up at 6am and begun work immediately. I have the say the crew from Henderson Masonry was really the differentiator. We received excellent communication from them each step of the way, and they checked in with me a couple of times throughout the morning to ensure they hadn't missed anything. Their workmanship was also top notch; they took care not only in doing the project but also in cleaning everything up after themselves. In the end they were able to fix our brick planter, patch some stucco on our house and tuck point and reface a few broken cinder blocks in our backyard wall. I wouldn't hesitate to call Henderson Masonry for any future mason or stucco work in the future. A+
