Then it took over a year to get copies of the loan papers, and when we did, they were not all there. Is anyone aware of this FTC buyers guide that is required by law to be on every used vehicle? It's supposed to protect us consumers and must be displayed and then signed by the buyer and given a copy of. If seller does not comply with this, the fines are from $1000-$11000 per violation! I know I didn't get a copy of this document. Anyway, just be careful of western motors, the one in los Banos is closed and the number for the salesman Sal is not in service. Suspicious!

We bought a new Coachman travel trailer this month from John. After a year of research and dialing…read morein exactly the trailer that met our needs, we found inventory in Los Banos and set up an appointment to see the trailer. First meeting was good, friendly, and confirmed what we were hoping to find with the trailer we had researched. John was courteous during this interaction and drove us around the lot answering questions. We appreciated that he didn't try to upsell us on other inventory that didn't meet the specifications we had been looking for. By the time we left, we placed a deposit on the trailer to go home and sleep on it. John handled some of the DMV paperwork over the phone and via text to streamline the process when we arrived for pickup. We agreed on final configuration including a lithium battery to be able to dry camp for multiple days running our fridge and basic power. Assuming the vendor whose sole purpose is selling RVs to people knew exactly how to outfit an RV electrical system, we didn't ask a lot of questions or do the electrical homework ourselves before delivery. Looking back, this was a huge error. Our first night home the trailer had no battery power. Hours later and many phone calls to Forest River roadside assistance, we discovered the tech who had inspected our trailer when we picked it up blew a fuse and never verified that the battery actually worked. Strike one. A quick trip to an auto store got us replacement fuses and we were able to charge up at home before our first trip. Much later, John finally texted back "XXXX showed you the battery disconnect switch?" Irrelevant and too late. First day we take the trailer out, we noticed the toilet bowl was full. That was a fun find. Dirty footprints all over the toilet and flush pedal, and a bowl full of pee? Strike two. By the second day of our trip, we had lost battery power and the fridge turned off while we were out hiking. Coming back to spoiled food and a thawed freezer at a remote site in the mountains was unpleasant. We diagnosed the entire electrical system to learn that they sold us a 100Ah battery at 100% price markup to run a fridge, which was never going to be possible. Strike three.

Amazing service! My…read moreson was driving to So. Cal to spend a week with his brother before the brother got married. Just a carefree week of bachelor brothers hanging out. He was supposed to drive there on Saturday and get to So. Cal before dark. However, he left after dark. He passed Los Banos (Route 33 exit) close to midnight and his engine started running really rough and it was losing power. He limped to the next exit, at less than 25 mph, turn around, and come back to Los Banos. We picked him up around 1:30 and got back home at 3AM. At 8AM (Easter morning), we started calling mechanics in Los Banos. Of course, we used Yelp and sorted by ratings. We went down the list and left messages for everyone. We just prayed that someone would be willing to work on a holiday. Jesse was the only one who answered the phone. We explained our predicament. He agreed to help if we could get there by 10. He had a family picnic planned. My son's car was parked about 2 miles from Jesse's shop. We were able to get it running and over to the shop before 10AM. Jesse found the problem, was able to obtain the necessary parts, and had the car fixed in about 3 hours. He charged a very reasonable amount. My son made it to So. Cal before dark (a day late), and Jesse still got to spend the rest of the day with his family.
