I highly recommend Xpert. Sean is very communicative all throughout. He keeps his word on things to be done and why he does it. I am completely satisfied with their service. Keep up the good work Xpert... read more

01/30/25 - I've had a reoccurring issue w/the toilet in the basement not flushing. I had to have a plumber come out twice & rout the sewer line. Each time I couldn't believe the amount of roots that came out of the drain. Each time we cleared the drain & thought we had accomplished the task but within 2 - 3 months the toilet would back up & it became clear that we had a bigger issue than a simple routing of the lines This is when I called on Patrick from Xpert Flood Control & Seepage. I have probably been relying on Xpert Flood for all of my underground plumbing needs. They have always done right by me. When Miguel & his son Miguel Jr came out the first day & cut the floor open above the underground line to the toilet they worked small sections to avoid ripping up too much of the floor. As they worked back towards the toilet it finally became apparent that the clog was in the vertical line. When Miguel opened the line up the root mass was something I had never seen before. What came out looked like a 6" diameter mass almost 3' long of solid tanglement of roots. It looked like he caught a big root fish. Now I understand why the previous 2 routing were temporary fixes. The next day Juan came out and proceeded to remove the old drain completely clean & prep it for the new sewer line. In addition Juan also prepped the line to receive the connection from the horizontal sewer line back up to the opening for the toilet placement & the drain from the sink back to the sewer line. After of of these components were located they backfilled around the sewer drain w/gravel, soil & concrete leaving a flush surface. I watched in amazement seeing the work Juan did measuring & fitting all the components. I have used Patrick & his crew Miguel, Juan for many jobs before & will continue to as they do outstanding work (I JUST HOPE ITS NOT ANYTIME SOON LOL ) Thank all of you for an outstanding job as usual read more

We just got Xpert Flood control installed after flooding twice this summer on the southwest side of Chicago. Although it hasn't been tested yet with heavy rain, I will say the xpert flood control team are very professional and seem to really care about their work. Miguel was extremely nice and informative with everything he was doing and when they finished they left everything how it was before. Considering they dug an 8 foot huge hole in my front lawn you would think my yard would be destroyed but they kept it in perfect condition. Was recommended to use them by our next door neighbor due to them having the only house on the block that didn't get a foot of flood water in their basement during both rain storms in July and August. I will also say the owner Patrick and his son Sean are nice and easy to get a hold of with questions you may have. read more

After months of collecting 7 different estimates from various waterproofing companies in the Chicagoland area, I ended up going with Xpert Flood Control. They actually ended up being the most competitive and knowledgeable estimate. My project involved a full drain tile system installed in all of my basement so I was very selective about choosing the best company for this big job. From the moment Sean came, I felt that his knowledge and skill stood out from the rest. He explained the situation in a way that was simple to understand and also laid out all my different options. I quickly booked the job with the understanding that Xpert had a lot of jobs ahead of mine, yet they managed to get to mine ahead of schedule. The project manager Miguel was extremely helpful and patient with our questions and throughout the whole process, him and his team completed the job within the time frame they committed to. I was also pleased to see that the owner of the company Patrick, is very involved and helpful. I had a minor concern about an unrelated repair and he was extremely open minded and kindly offered to do the repair for a very reasonable and competitive price, way under market rate. I appreciate that the whole team is open to any and all questions and they are clearly problem solvers who go above and beyond. I'm so glad I found these guys. Highly recommend for any flood control/water proofing needs! read more

These guys are great. Professional, informative, on-time, and competitive pricing. Don't get me wrong -- this is not something you WANT to spend money on (and it's not cheap), but these guys do a phenomenal job. I am almost "happy" about the money I spent on this. Almost. Worth every penny! Patrick walked me through the whole process and came out to inspect the site before and throughout the job. Alex and his crew were on time, knowledgable, and did a great job. I am in awe of the work these guys can do in a few days (and I want to comment again on how meticulous and professional the actual work is--these guys are PROS). Now my home is protected from city backups (we've flooded 3 times in the last year) and I feel totally relieved. read more

My basement flooded twice this summer after heavy rains and after many consultations with plumbers, contractors, and neighbors, I decided Xpert Flood Control system was the way to go. Several neighbors got the Xpert system installed over the years and not one of them has flooded since. It's an investment and has given me peace of mind in the last month (not striking fear in my heart whenever rain is in the forecast!). Sean came over and spent an hour with me going over in detail how the system works and I loved the illustrated easy-to-understand explanations that come in their folders. They are busy so best to get on the calendar! That being said, Alex's crew scheduled within 6-8 weeks as promised and did a great job installing the system. They even worked a full day in the pouring rain and doing so probably prevented the basement from flooding again since they got the shut off valve working that morning. Thank you!! Sean's quote was the same price I paid, no hidden fees. Shoutout to Maria too who coordinated the installation and was very professional and responsive. read more

I wanted to take the time to thank Xpert Flood Control for the amazing work they did her at our home. We suffered some flooding in our basement I was able to get a free estimate from them and took my time to get a few more estimates from other contractors! My final decision was to go with Xpert. The reason I selected Xpert was because I tell you I had so many questions about the work: *First thing was all my questions were answered with confidence *The price was great *The company lives up to their name and reputation *They have the best crew working for them *The crew were very professional, respectful and so nice But the best part was getting to meet the Father and Son duo. Sean (son) was so nice and understanding of our situation. The easiest conversation I've had in a long time dealing with contractors! Patrick (father) was so kind and understanding and I must say he is a true closer. He came to our home and helped us with some work that extended into our home in the basement dealing with some bad work performed by someone who was not a contractor. They replaced a sewer pipe the same day in our basement. I must say this experience has restored my confidence in trusting someone to do the right thing especially in these difficult times. Thank you Patrick and Sean! read more

We have been meaning to write this review for a year. This company was so professional. Our home had many problems. The biggest one was water and sewage backup into our basement during flash floods in Portage Park. The representative was very knowledgeable and really looked for solutions without trying to upsell us on unnecessary items. It is so rare anymore to find someone who knows what needs to happen. We ended up installing a flood system that blocked sewage backflow from the street. You have to do something like this in Chicago because this city doesn't care if they wreck your home. The company even installs a camera such that, if sewage ever does back up from the main line, they would have the evidence in court to make the city pay for the damage. In the past year, we have seen sewage trucks outside people's homes on our block after a storm. We have not had sewage come through since. This was money well spent. They come out once a year to check on the system and their warranty is transferrable to whoever buys our home. Knowing what we know now, that would be a major selling point. These solutions are never cheap, but this company was great to work with and totally worth it. read more

No one wants to spend money on flood control, but we had no options after the basement backed up twice in the first few months of owning the house. Sean explained everything, and Miguel and his crew were really hardworking, nice, and neat. They did the labor, explained everything, and communicated the entire process, from what they were doing that day, when it would be done, to what to expect. This is a nice, family-owned company that is local. We highly recommend them! read more

This is an excellent company who solved a long running issue at my house due to work that was done in the past. Sean and Patrick both explained in detail what needed to be done. In addition to installing a new system on the outside of the house they also tore out the defective system on the inside and returned the inside tile drain to it's original state. Miguel, Juan & Gabriel were awesome!!! they worked their tails off even though half the time they had bad weather to deal with. There was minimum downtime in the house which we really appreciated. Will highly recommend them to anyone needing help in the future... read more

Great experience working with Sean, Patrick and everyone at Xpert. Another company quoted me a much more expensive project and wanted me to detach my front porch and move it! Sean came to give me a quote and even had Patrick come to give a 2nd opinion. They figured out a way to install the flood control system cheaper, sooner and without needing to move my steps. and while their schedule was booked a few months out, when they had an opening sooner, they squeezed me in! Patrick came out personally to check on the job several times. Their crew was friendly, professional and took great care not to damage my property, including my lawn. I definitely made the right choice by hiring Xpert! read more

We contacted Xpert to install a flood control system for our house. We had looked at a handful of companies but X-pert really impressed us. I was in the market for a new flood control system for my house after the previous owner installed a terrible sump pump that was a disaster waiting to happen. After meeting with multiple companies, Xpert was clear winner. They were professional and very detailed, walking me through their recommendations and estimate. I put off installing the system for a month or two, which ended when I got water in the basement, of course. Xpert came out the next day to clear out the backed up sewer drain and then scheduled my work asap. Once they started, the crew was professional and courteous, since I was working from home the entire time. They were on time and cleaned up every day. During the instillation, they found drainage pipes that were improperly installed and causing problems and fixed those right away. In total, they installed a flood control system in the front yard and a new sump pump in the basement. All of the parts and equipment they installed are top notch and the work is impeccable. Multiple huge storms later (including one with 4" of rain!) and the basement is bone dry. I can't recommend these guys enough! read more

On a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the best, I give Xpert Flood Control and Seepage, inc. (Xpert) in Chicago a rating of a 1,000! This rating applies to the following categories: knowledge and expertise, responsiveness, follow-up, quality of work, cleanliness of worksite during /after installation, professionalism, customer service and overall good cheer - just to name a few! Having a basement flood is a daunting and frustrating experience. One can feel overwhelmed, helpless and at an impasse as to what to do and how to handle such a situation. That is until you call Xpert! When my newly renovated basement flooded, I made a list of several flood control companies to call. Each company I spoke with was helpful and informative. However, upon calling Xpert, I knew within minutes of our call, this was the company to work with and that there was no need to make further calls to any other flood control company. Patrick (company owner) took a great deal of time to explain all aspects of flood control to me in manner that was understandable and clear. He was very patient with me and my many questions and painstakingly explained the entire process of the flood control installation process to me. Talking with Patrick was like talking with an old friend. After the initial consultation, Sean, met with me in person (taking great COVID related precautions throughout our visit) to go over the particulars of the flood control equipment and what I should expect during every phase of the installation. Sean gave me his undivided attention throughout our entire visit. It was evident that he wanted me to have a very clear understanding of how the flood control system worked and what the installation process would involve. Sean provided me with detailed demonstrations of flood control systems (he even drew pictures that proved to be very helpful to further clarify what he was explaining.) Sean went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable and clearly understood how the flood control system would work. It was/remains an absolute pleasure to work with both Patrick and Sean! The crew assigned to do the installation of the flood control system was fantastic! They consistently showed up on time, were beyond polite and professional and always left the worksite in better condition than when they arrived! The crew was faced with a unique situation - my sewer line was buried further down than usual which meant additional digging and hard work. They approached this additional work willingly and with great attitudes. The crew consistently kept me up-to-date on progress and explained every step they were taking towards the completion of the flood control installation. Patrick and Sean are always available to address questions or concerns. In the year 2021, it's refreshing to call a company and actually receive a live voice on the other end. The entire office staff is very helpful and actually returns phone calls when they say they will do so. Also, Patrick and Sean were extremely flexible working with my challenges around scheduling this installation - which was further reassurance and validation of the Xpert team's commitment to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and accommodation. This huge and potentially overwhelming project was made a wonderful and educational experience by Patrick, Sean and their colleagues. I remain very appreciative and grateful for everything they did to ensure that this work and project went smoothly and efficiently. Reading this review, it must be evident that I am a very, very, very, very satisfied customer and fan of Xpert! I say with extreme confidence that if you need a flood control system installed in your home, look no further! Call Xpert, they will not disappoint! read more

Had some water during recent storms and I called to see what other solutions could be done to help with my problem. Basically they told me to find someone else. We are brand new homeowners who unfortunately bought a home and then 3 weeks in, had 6 inches of sewer water in our basement. We were at a loss and really didn't know how and why this had happened. I frantically did research and after reading many reviews, I chose to call Xpert. They are a local company which I always strive to support (especially during Covid-19). Sean came out the day after the flood even though he told us they were swamped. He quickly diagnosed the problem and said since it was sewer water, they would put in an emergency permit and begin the work in a few days. The 3 man crew showed up at the same time each day. Miguel (who is truly wonderful & has been an employee for many years) gave me a run-down of what had been done each day and what they would do the following day. Xpert quoted us the exact amount we paid and got the work done in the amount of time they stated. After the work was complete, Pat, the owner sent us photos and a write-up of the problem and work that was done for us to be able to go back to our insurance company after initially being told if it was sump pump issue, that our insurance wouldn't cover it. These guys are expensive, but they do good work. And in all honesty, with how often Chicagoland floods, you should definitely consider giving them a call if you have any water or flooding issues. read more

Don't let the 5-star reviews fool you. These guys are chronic no-shows. I was looking for someone to do a power rodding in my sewer line from the garage to the street. They were going to come July 23rd. The night before, the Chicago area had the massive flooding rains, so they called to cancel since they had numerous emergency calls. OK, I understand. I had no flooding, so it could be worse. They set it up for Aug. 6th instead, a Saturday morning. So when it was close to noon, I was wondering where they were. I called the guy in the office and he said he lost touch with his crew. He was going to call me back once he got in touch. No callback and nobody showed up. Perhaps aliens abducted them... Just to be sure, I called again. This time they said they'd come Sept. 13th, offering no reason for the prior no-show. I called them the day before and they said someone is coming between 12 and 5:30 PM. So it's 10:30 PM now as I write this, and nobody came, called or offered to reschedule. If they are flood control experts, they're certainly not sticklers for punctuality or even showing up unless you got a $$$$ plumbing job for them. read more

Our basement used to take on water whenever we had heavy rain falls. 2 years ago, we contacted our city sewer in inspector (from Des Plaines) and he recommended Xpert Flood Control highly. We've now had our Xpert Flood Control for almost 2 years. It's worked perfectly. Last weekend, we had a record rainfall of more than 7 inches of rain in less than 1 hour! I figured, OK, this is the litmus test. If it holds the sewage back this time, it was worth the money we invested! Almost ALL of my neighbors got at least 12" of flooding. Us? NOT A DROP! I would say if you go with this system, make sure you get the maintenance package with it. It's worth it just for the piece of mind. Tim D. Des Plaines, IL read more

12/15/15 This is my second time using Xpert Flood Control. They had originally repaired a deteriorating foundation from the outside. My family wanted to use the basement as a living space, so we needed a dry basement. When I started to get water in three different areas Patrick recommended I do a complete drain tile system on the inside of my basement foundation, that it would eliminate any chances of water getting into the living areas. Patrick's team started on Monday and finished on Friday afternoon. Each evening, they cleaned up and organized the work area. The workers and foreman were polite and very clean. The Friday they ended, it was raining and rained all weekend, sometimes down pouring. All of the problem areas that I had noted in the past were bone dry as was the rest of the basement foundation. Great service! read more

We purchase our home in May 2012 that was built in 1952....In April 2013 we flooded along with most of our NIles neighbors...18" total in the basement. Never in life did I imagine this could happen! My inlaws told us about a system that could be installed to prevent this from happening in the future, they did the legwork.....about a dozen companies came out to their house with estimates and proposals and they gave their business to Xpert Flood , and Angelica was there go to person.....We watched the install and about a month after their install we had another flooding rain which once again flooded our basement...BUT their basement was dry this time.....Perfectly DRY !! The first storm they had 12", now none... We called Angelica and set up an apt and she made her proposal which we thought was thorough and we were given a written proposal for the price including everything, NO hidden fee's... We did have a few more proposals , just because , and we cam back to Angelica and Flood Experts.....We decided on Xpert for a few reasons...1 - My inlaws and their due dillegence on the history of many companies and products offered, 2- the product, we were very impressed with their flood system over some of the other ones that are being used and 3 they even offer a guarantee on their product.....Angelica was great...she answered every question and was very courteous with every call we had to her asking even more questions concerning in stall and information. A couple months later we were installed, July 2013. The hottest weekend of the summer so it seemed...their crews were unreal! The equipment was delivered the day before, the precautions that they took to protect the grass areas and existing landscapes and concrete were spot on......They were in and out in 2 days! Some of neighbors that used other companies had the mess for a week or more. Our lawn was pristine after wards....unlike some of our neighbors who had mounds of dirt with landscapers needed after the fact to clean the mess that was left behind.....The day after Xpert left....you would never know they were installing this huge system under our front lawn!!! It looked great....the only addition a manhole cover, for we chose that instead of the concealed lawn topper..... That fall, another large rainfall...we were DRY !! The following spring...DRY......some of our neighbors with out systems are still getting water.... I could NOT BE ANY HAPPIER than I am with Xpert Flood Control...They were very courteous to our needs and scheduling...They were dependable and they ran the business end as they should...without problem.. I am very confident giving a 5 star ratting based on our experience with Angelica and Xpert as well as with My in laws and many neighbors that also used them... Very Happy!! Definetly would use them AGAIN !!! read more
