Another update since my last review. Chazz continues to not only provide the *best* service, but also is a really patient and truly kind and funny person. With Covid going on he bends over backwards to help customers feel comfortable. Temps are taken as you enter to ensure you aren't coming in with a fever, and masks are of course required. He religiously cleans the chair and surrounding environment after you move from the hair washing station and back to the hair cutting chair. Each time I go, I am in awe with how great his cut is--even weeks after I get it done. He listens to and remembers what his clients like and don't like. It is very impressive. I am not sure how he does it. His results are consistently "perfect", where the effort and time he puts into styling my hair, enables my new cut to be shown off after I leave the salon. Came in for first time, liking the way my hair was growing out but needing the edges trimmed & maybe a few chunky lowlights in front. Referred by Rocco to Adria, "color specialist." I spent close to 4 hours in the chair. Wrapped in bleach peroxide to remove "old color," followed by 20 minutes under hot hair dryer. TWICE. Adria then proceeded to ignore my request for a few chunky lights, & applied color all over. The "trim" I wanted ended up a very bad, lop-sided shag; cut close around one ear but left long on the other side. You might ask why I didn't speak up, which I did several times. Hard to tell when one's back is to the mirror. I was visiting Denver & am now home, but if possible, I would walk in today & show them my still blistered scalp & damaged hair that breaks every time I touch it. Nigel at XOXO is phenomenal! It's rare when you find a stylist who gives you the best cut in your life (I don't say that lightly) and also a great colorist. In my experience I have found it is usually one or the other! As a customer I did not effectively communicate what I wanted, but then end result was jaw dropping! I have never been more pleased! He truly cared about the integrity of my hair, giving amazing advice since I've never been this blonde on how to care for it. His biggest priority was the end health of my hair while giving fabulous results. Nigel is a great communicator where if while in the salon he asks first and dogs for clarity, gives feedback for female who has ever done the "well I was thinking this is what I want what do you think?" He explains what he can and can't do so transparently because certain things you can do in one session but it will RUIN your hair. If the initial appt changes to add more on he clearly explains cost BEFORE touching your hair. He is not "salesy" in trying to sell more services or product which we have experienced in a salon and I love that! He is so fabulous I am writing a yelp review (I RARELY give anything a review - good or bad). 6/5 Stars for sure!!! I purchased a Groupon deal for balayage with Nigel. Unfortunately, I was asked to leave after discussing what I wanted and service was denied. I have been getting my hair highlighted for the last 10 years and I have NEVER been asked to leave a salon. Nigel was focused on maintaining his reputation, but little confused as he is depending on Groupon discounts for clients? Additionally, Nigel did not even attempt to reach a resolution of perhaps providing other services that would equate to the Group value. Deep conditioning treatment has left my hair feeling silky soft and my stylist has a great eye for fitting stylish cuts. I am so pleased with the length and chic light style! I just had the worst experience at this salon yesterday, BUT wasn't salon's fault, it was the person who works there named Nigel King. I had never been so upset and mad for the hair appointment, he is the worst and rudest stylist I've ever met. Im from New York City, I've seen and known so many top and talented stylists from luxury salons, but never seen someone like this cocky and rude to cancel appointment right on the spot. Here's what happened, I purchased the Groupon deal because the salon is close to my place, and I followed the exact instructions to make the appointment around 3 weeks ahead. I also wanted to get there earlier to make sure everything would go smoothly, so I got there 45 mins earlier before my appointment, this was just my own decision I wouldn't say that has anything to do with the appointment or service but all I can tell is that I was totally ready and prepared. So I waited there until 3:08pm, my appointment was 3pm by the way, Nigel showed up and didn't show me where I should be seated or anything, he just said hi and said he would be back. But the salon boss was nice enough to show me where I should be seated. So when I sat down on the chair, he told me he needed to charge me extra because my hair is longer and pass the shoulder line. As a normal person would do I asked why, he said that's just what he does, if I don't wanna get the hair past the shoulder done, I could do that as option. But let me ask you, who would get their hair half way done like this, get the treatment half on your hair??? What is that means seriously?! He became impatient when I asked why, I meant is that supposed to mention/ notify your customers in advance? Or at least state clearly on the Groupon!!!!!That's basically a scam, coz he don't want people to have options when the customers wait so long to have appointment to come. I think every customer deserve the right to know what & how and why the charges are, EVERYONE DOES! my guessing is because I am an Asian girl, so he thinks he can bully me over for such nonsense. This is a white race salon, everyone is white except him but how could him treat an Asian like this rude. Especially after he told me that there's extra charges I said I would do it and okay with it, he just said he don't wanna take the job anymore and cancelled the appointment right on the spot without any explanation. Nigel always did a great job on my hair (cut/keratin/color on thick, wavy hair) and if I was worried about how something looked through the process, I would ask and Nigel sometimes would just answer the question for me based on the look on my face. I had long hair when I first started seeing Nigel in October 2017 and since he had done nothing but take good care of it. When I would walk in I normally would get greeted by other stylists near the entrance and I would tell people who I was there for and they would have me take a seat and if Nigel was running a few minutes late they would let me know. read more

I don't need a certificate from a third rate beauty school to know that lopping huge chunk of someone's hair is going to look awful. I've seen groomers do a better job on my dog! When I spoke with the "manager," I was informed that if I wanted someone else to fix it I'd have to pay. Seriously? After reaching out to Nigel and sending photos he took zero responsibility and offered to fix it a week later! How is acceptable to keep my hair like this for a week? Horrible experience! Went in for cut and full highlights and asked for a shoulder-length bob (yes - tons of pictures - even photos of myself with the same haircut) and it's now barely below my ears and not even long enough to curl in the back. The stylist's answer to cutting off more of my hair than I agreed to was that it'll need to grow out some, then I'll like it (as I'm in tears). Stylist gave me an uneven boxy tomboy-looking cut that wasn't even close to what I requested. She also tried to tell me (after the fact) that my hair 'wouldn't do that' - and that she couldn't cut my hair the way I requested (even though I showed her photos of MYSELF with the EXACT SAME HAIRCUT six months ago). Stylist's hands were VISIBLY SHAKING the entire time she was cutting my hair, and she wasn't even using a comb to hold the hair - just sticking her very DULL scissors in my hair and chopping - resulting in an uneven, horrible cut. She even mentioned that she had her scissors recently sharpened but that they were dull and weren't cutting very well - but continued cutting anyway (resulting in an uneven choppy hair cut that just kept getting shorter and shorter as she tried to 'fix' it). Stylist did not have recent, clean styling tools either (disgusting curling iron covered in hair spray and other people's hair stuck to it - ewww), and straightener looked like it was very outdated, dirty, and was pulling and breaking my hair. Stylist was also very rough with brush and wash, and slightly burned my cheek with the straightener. I yelped and said, 'hey - you touched my cheek with the straightener', and she said 'sorry' - then immediately did it again! After that; I was done. Just told her to stop (the last thing I needed on top of a horrible haircut was a burn on the side of my cheek). Left in tears with my hair uneven and a wreck. I definitely wouldn't let them anywhere near me again with scissors (or dirty, out-dated) styling tools. Very difficult to book with a voucher as well - salon's phone almost always goes to voicemail and it took over 5 phone calls (and 3 weeks) just to get someone to answer the phone to set an appointment (they don't seem to return voicemails). A friend of mine recommended Sandy, and let me say she is ONE of the BEST hairstylist I've been too. I decided that it was time for me to get hair extensions and I did. Sandy explained everything in detailed for me, from my color process to my hair extensions. She was very good at telling me the dos and dont's. I don't understand where Karen was coming from. It's pretty obvious that Sandy knows what she's doing, and once you sign the contract you are responsible for maintaining the contract. Not only was everything wonderful and easy but Sandy also has a great personality! I highly recommend Sandy for your cut, color and extensions! Let me start by saying I am VERY picky about who touches my hair. I tried xoxo salon with a groupon. I went with Andi and she was very easy to work with. She helped me figure out the direction we were going to go, picked an amazing color for my complexion, and gave me more than the cut I wanted. Parking is tough around there but I noticed 2 hour street parking. My cut and color were done in enough time for that option to have worked. Andi worked quickly but did not sacrifice a great service. I expected a much longer appointment so I parked catty corner in a $2/hour lot. The other stylists seemed very friendly and everyone seemed to really enjoy their jobs. I went in to see Irene Sept 29 for highlight and trim. It was the most painful experience. I felt like my hair was being ripped from roots every time she brushed my hair. I could hear all my hair snapping and breaking every time she combed out my hair. Irene was completely oblivious to the look of pain on my face. She did not use products after putting in color, she just pulled comb thru and pulled. As for color...it was terrible. Half of my forehead had a blonde highlight, the other half a dark brown lowlight. So there was no way to wear hair pulled back. Also the highlights, they were straight from 1990 choppy era. Each highlight area was about 1/4" thick. Nothing natural about my look at all. Plus the "close" to scalp caused major bleeding on other highlights causing circles. I looked like I had cheetah spots. I went in with ashy blonde, beautiful blonde...came out with gold, rusty, brown. I even asked her why she made half my forehead blond, half brown. She said that's how the foils came out and she didn't want to make me too blond in front. On to cut. I had been growing my hair for years, it was finally thick and the way I liked it (yes, it was uneven, but just uneven) . It is in the middle of my back with very little layers. Irene, she hacked it. There are pieces that are about 4" that should be 12" (literally). They spring out around my head, from under, from all over. So now in ponytail I have strays everywhere. She literally cut out about 1/2 of my thickness of my hair. It get a big sick feeling every time I touch it now, knowing it will take YEARS to grow back. In conclusion, worst cut and color I have ever had. Four days later I had to go to another salon, and get a color correction highlight. It took them 4 hours to fix. They even used my head for a trainee. Its still not right, I have to go back in 8 weeks. They wouldn't even touch my cut. They said to leave it for several months. I didn't want to write a review, but after reading a few others having the same experience. I had to share. I should have known, when talking to Irene and when she said she can color and cut my hair in an hour. The bells went off. It always takes about 2-3 hours. Note on Review: I had known Irene from years ago, and she said she would do my hair. She offered to do this for free, but I paid her for this....and still paying. read more

I first tried this salon with a Groupon, and was set up with Cheryl for a cut and highlight. She did an awesome job (and I'm picky!). I just went back for a second time and made sure to have Cheryl, who again did beautiful blonde highlights and a great, layered cut while still keeping most of my length. She is very pleasant to chat with, gives me good advice about my hair, and never tries to pressure me into buying additional products (like some salons I have visited). Cheryl is my new go-to girl :) The atmosphere here is nice and relaxing, right in the heart of cherry creek, and the prices are reasonable. Cheryl has been cutting my hair for several years and I have tremendous respect and trust in her. My needs have changed over the years and she gives me what I ask for every time. My hair is naturally curly and she will first cut it dry to make sure the curls are stacked and the layers fall evenly. She also consults and offers tip to me so that my style stays current. When I need a different look, Cheryl does a great blowout and takes the time to get it right! I often make a Saturday of it and get my hair cut and styled and then spend some time window shopping in Cherry Creek North or the mall. I feel spoiled at this salon, especially at a reasonable price and surrounded by the same friendly faces of other stylists that have also been there for several years. read more

Needed an emergency highlight and cut when my hairdresser cancelled on me before a trip. Adria, the manager, was so sweet to squeeze me in, even if I were to pay with their groupon. She worked on my hair for over two hours and was amazing. She did such a great job and I am so happy with their level of customer service! I love how the owners and other stylists interacted with the other customers in the salon, even when they were with someone. The environment was very friendly and welcoming, even for being in Cherry Creek. Other reviews said they had a hard time with their groupings and getting appointments scheduled, I had no such problem. They were completely booked and when I told her that it was a mini hair emergency for my trip they got me an appointment and wanted to genuinely help! Thank you for a great experience! Also I spoke to Nigel about having a Keratin treatment done via a groupon prior to buying the groupon. He said they only charge extra for really long hair or extra thick hair. However once I purchased the groupon and showed up, his story changed. Desiree is the best colorist I have had in Denver, will follow her anywhere. After living in Denver for 5 years, I was fed up how colorists were treating/coloring my blonde hair. I had people put black in , colorists not get to my roots, make it brassy, and just an over all bad experience with colorists in Denver. I used to fly home to Arizona to have my girl there color it......that is until I came to Rebelle and found Desiree. She actually took the time to talk to me, to find out what I liked & what I didn't. She formatted my blonde hair color so it looks good with my skin tone and always works with me in the winter so I can "go darker" but still feel like I am blonde. She does glazes, cares about the health of your hair, and really knows what looks good on everyone. I really cant say enough good things about Desiree. For the past year Desiree has been putting streaks of fun color in the underneath part of my hair and I LOVE IT. She made sure this was something I really wanted before we attempted to put the first fun color ( hot pink) in my hair and from that it has grown. Red, Purple...its really the best! She knows right where to place and what shade to make it. In my opinion Desiree is the best colorist for blondes, funky color, and all the in between! I've never been so anxious to get out of a hairstylist's chair as I was today at my Brazilian blowout. It was a most unpleasant, painful experience, as Irene yanked at my hair throughout the entire service, and if the pain she was already giving me wasn't enough, she burned my head with the straightener (which until now I didn't even know was possible.) I normally try to think the best of people, but the way Irene treated me and the interaction I had with her made me wonder if she was a bit high or suffering from early dementia. She repeatedly asked me questions I had already answered and couldn't even tell me exactly what a Brazilian blowout was when I first came in; she just kept telling me that it didn't have formaldehyde, that Jennifer Aniston's hair just got burnt off from one and that it took frizz away. Then when I asked what the product used for the service actually had in it, she just handed me the bottle, which doesn't even have any ingredients listed. I would NEVER even think about going back to this place simply because they pay someone this rough, unknowledgeable, and ditzy/high/whatever to work for them. I got a Weekly Plus cut, color, and style and I felt like I was not treated right. I had gotten a phone call explaining that my stylist was going to be late to my appointment, and I let that slide. I arrived thirty minutes later to wait another fifteen for my stylist to even arrive to the salon. I received my color (which came out poorly) and a mere trim by the time I was done. My Weekly Plus' description was not honored. I was released from the chair with no full cut, blow dried hair, and style. I felt cheated out of a wonderful hair style and I have to reach out to others to fix the damage done to my hair. I went to the salon on 5/10/2014 to have my tape in extensions taken out and put back in and to get color with Irene Mayster. An appointment like that should take 3 hours max, it took 6 because she had no idea what to do with the extensions. The color she did was good however she lacked knowledge in tape in extensions. Less than 1 hour after I walked out the extensions started coming out. Over half were out 2 hours later. When I immediately informed Irene her response was "I did my best go see my sister" she never offered to fix them or refund me. The other stylists at the salon seemed very nice. Today I received a message from the lovely Irene Mayster wishing me the worst Mothers Day ever. I will post the message. I showed up for an appointment with Irene at this salon after purchasing a groupon. It was for color, cut, and cond. treatment for $80. I sat down after a cheerful hello to find out she it gong to charge another $40 since I have long hair. I only needed my roots done so I don't see how this would increase the price. I went to SANDY, And everything was fine for about six months, then we talked about extensions , OMG DO NOT LET SANDY DO YOUR EXTENTIONS! What a mess! She told me that she knew what she was doing, and I trusted her, SHE DID NOT! I was in the chair for over 5 hours, and when I walked out I looked like I had a mullet! My hair was not blended, the color didn't match, she knew I was leaving town that night, I had to find someone to fix the mess. The worst part was she charged $800 dollars for this mess. I called her and wanted $250.00 back, she wouldn't do anything, she would not take responsibility for the mess she left my hair in. Despite some of the reviews I decided I should give XOXO Salon a try and I'm glad I did. I have to be in this area for a couple of different reasons and finding a good hairstylist was a huge bonus. I give my hairstylist Misty *****(5 Stars) hands down, but the overall XOXO Salon experience well it gets *** (3 Stars). Lets start with the positives about XOXO Salon. The location is awesome! There is free street parking right on its block with ease of getting a spot, which is always a BONUS in my book in Cherry Creek. The décor in XOXO Salon is very nice and bright with a great big window in the front to glance out of as your getting your hair done. Now to the negatives, lets just start with walking in to an empty salon with no receptionist, a wallet and keys on the top of the desk, and no one around. After a few minutes finally a couple of employees walked in, I greeted them I will add, and they just walked by me. The lady rudely asked if she could help me I said I had an appointment, she was then what you could call helpful and called for my hairstylist rudely. I just felt like the customer service should have been better. I shouldn't have had to wait an in empty salon waiting to be helped, I feel like someone should be taking care of the desk and surely not leaving keys and wallets up for grabs. I also felt like the employees that came in were short, too busy, and for lack of a better term rude. Hopefully my next visit will be much better! Once my hairstylist Misty came out and welcomed me things really turned around. I'm glad I didn't walk out, because I'm huge on customer service and thus far I was not impressed. Misty was polite and professional. She asked what I wanted and I of course gave her a lame explanation of what I wanted done with my hair. Misty took what I said and turned into a masterpiece. It's simple and she didn't take too much off, which I am always grateful for when I get my hair done because I am trying to grow it out.
