Someone recommended this place to me, and I have no idea why. The gentleman doing my acrylics grossly over filed them, one to the point of pain. I've had my nails done for years by an amazing tech who no longer does nails, and I know how the process is supposed to feel. I've removed my nails after a few weeks, and the intense file lines are actually pretty nasty. They also didn't do the length I requested by any means, and he wasn't friendly at all while getting them done. $90+ for nails is wild, but even if the service was free, I would not return. I would also suggest they reevaluate their cleanliness/hygiene practices because they were not up to par. I guess that's what can happen when people start to slack after years.. you just go a little blind to the actual quality of what you're doing and what's going on. read more

I loved this place, I don't get my nails don't that often and i've only ever gone to this place. It's super cute and pretty inside and the nail artists did an amazing job on my nails. I had two nails artists and both did amazing, they were super gentle with my nails and nice to talk to. I was shocked and in love with how my nails turned out because i thought they weren't able to do what i wanted but when i tell you they ate this up i mean it. I expected it to be pricy and that was no problem ($115 for the nails and $55 for tip) i was just madly in love with them and loved the way they free styled some of it. They often do well with designs, but this time I got an uneven design on my nail and the nails was longer than the other making it look awkward to me. I've been going to XO Nails Bar for 4 years now. Every experience has been good except for a few in the recent years. After a negative experience last year, I started having John do my nails every three weeks. He reached out to me after I left a review. He did a great job. Unfortunately, he recently left the salon. A friend of mine mentioned that many of the other techs were great, so I decided to book an appointment. I booked online and selected "any tech." I received and automated response that said they were unable to book my appointment. It said to call the salon. I called the salon and the girl on the phone said, "John has to do your nails and he doesn't work here anymore." I said that I requested for any tech to do my nails and assured her multiple times that it was okay for another tech to do them. She just kept repeating that only John could do them. Finally I said "so you just won't do my nails?" and she said, "yes, sorry." They are denying service for no reason. I guess they don't care about their customers or getting business. I've been a loyal customer for years. I've brought many other customers to their business. Even when they didn't do their best, I still tipped 20% and stuck with them. Through price changes, tech changes, etc., I've been there. It's extremely rude and hurtful that they would deny my business. I can understand why John left. He was kind and respectful unlike any of the other employees. If you want to be treated poorly, you should go here. Right before my appointment, I had a nail bed injury (totally my own fault) on already powder-dipped nails. I called ahead to let them know, and Tommy was incredibly gentle in handling the issue. He did an amazing job giving me a fresh powder dip manicure for my upcoming bachelorette trip--something I was really nervous about with my nail injury. I had acrylic on and after seeing how thick and heavy they were, it was suggested I take them off and just do dip. This took longer, but the guy doing my nails took his time and did a perfect job! I have heard great things about this location however after trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I have had multiple poor experiences. I had one where I made a reservation for my daughter and I and we ended up waiting an excessive amount of time. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they were busy and it was two of us. I was told that time, walk in whenever, we never turn away people, you may have to wait though. So another day, I walked in and was turned away saying no way to fit in. Totally understood there could be a wait which was why I went when I did and ensured I had made time for a wait in advance but was told no walk ins. I tried one more time and made a reservation on a Monday for a 420pm appointment for nails and toes done. I got my toes done right away, then they started my nails, stopped and moved to another person. While my appointment for both at 420pm, at 550pm no one was yet working on my nails and I politely asked how much longer for my nails. I was told I could reschedule because they were short staffed or wait longer to have someone come back to my nails. It had been an hour and 30mins since my scheduled appointment. They didn't even finish taking off all the dip for my nails. No consistency and Terrible customer service. This the best nail shop in West County. I have been to so many nails shops, all up and down Olive and even some on Manchester. When I found XO Nails Bar I was so excited! The decor in the shop is beautiful! And it DOESNT have that chemical smell like some other shops have. I have been coming here for a year now and will never go to another nail shop!! This is a family run business and each of their employees are so sweet and amazing at their job. If I have a design I want they match it perfect. They understand my weird request of having "medium short" nails, or wanting a coffin nail that it's to coffin like. They never give me any attitude about the shape of length of my nails. Each and every one of the nail techs are amazing! You can't go wrong with any nail tech! The best part is, when you schedule your appointment you actually get in at your scheduled time! If they are running a couple minutes behind they let you know, and don't just leave you sitting there. My nails make me feel pretty. If I have amazing looking nails, I feel amazing. I am particular about my nails because if I am going to spend money on them I would like to be happy walking out with them. For basic nails with tips on only on one hand, didn't take the tips off fully of the first hand, it was $80. I tipped 20% still, so a total of $96 was just not right. First, She told me I could fix my nail after I pointed out how it was crooked and gave me the nail file. Second, got a Hailey Bieber glazed nail version and in order for it to get the chrome effect it needs to be rubbed in and not sit on top, which will give it a sparkle effect and not chrome. I'll start this off as it could have been better. My friend suggested the place and booked our appointments for a refill. We both had fun designs for nails, and she said she'd gone before so why not? We get there, and we're asked to wash out hands then sign in. Then we're asked multiple times what we came in for, and then we're finally seated. The work station I was at was definitely gritty, and I'm not exactly sure if it was thoroughly wiped down. My friend showed me the prices beforehand: the website looked to be $45 for a refill, and with nail art I knew it would be a little bit more expensive. So, I sit and wait while someone comes and immediately starts talking to my friend, asking what she wants and all that. She shows the design she wants and they discussed for a while before someone came over to me. Immediately after I show the person what I want, I get started while my friend is asking more and more questions about the nail design and what could and couldn't be done. I think the manager came over and brought up the price, which was a lot higher than either one of us were expecting to pay. Yes I understand nail art is more expensive, but the base pay was actually $55 instead of $45, we must have looked at the wrong part of the website. So, I'm listening into my friend's conversation, and my nail tech tells me my price would be $20 dollars higher than I was expecting. Since I was getting a way simpler design, I didn't expect the price jump. From what I understand about the pricing, here's how it was justified: My nails were almond shaped (I came in with them almond shaped and just asked for them to be shorter) so that would be extra. When I asked if I could go with a cheaper nail shape I was told my nails were too short. My designs I wanted were going to cost me per nail. It was the first time I had heard of a design per nail, but maybe I just didn't know before? Because I wanted black french-tipped nails, that too would be extra. This wasn't explained to me, but I'm assuming its due to it being a specific style? Out of all three listed, I have never heard of a nail shape costing more of less, especially a common shape. I would get it if I asked for something outlandish but I just asked to keep my same shape and was told that it would be extra. Afterwards my nail tech asked me if I was okay with these prices. They had already removed 3 out of 5 nails on my hand at this point, so it felt pointless to get up and leave. I also wanted to point out that I have paid other places a similar price, but maybe this was the first place to break it down in such a way? It was also the only place I have been to that didn't tell me what I would be looking at price wise until after we got started, which I did not like. During the appointment it was awkward, maybe because I was stunned by the price and my friend had to fight to keep her set of nails (they wanted to remove them) so it was a quiet affair. My nail tech did chime in from time to time, asking if I liked the design or the shape. She did get me the exact length I was looking for, so that was nice. However, for paying extra for the simple design felt... weird. After leaving the salon and really staring at my nails, I realized they weren't all even. In fact, some have skinny lines while the other half is thicker. The webs I wanted are perfect, but they're spiderwebs so who cares. If I hadn't had to pay extra for the design per nail, I wouldn't have minded so much. I also may have sensitive nails, and I noticed one of my thumbs is bruised. There was a lot of attention to that area with the drill, which I'm not sure why but I'm glad I got a base color to cover some of the bruising. All in all, it was just okay. Did I feel like they were trying to nickel and dime me? Yes indeed I did. Was that their intention? Maybe not, I would hope not anyways. But them trying to convince my friend to get a new set of nails both times she went, is a little suspicious seeing as her nails are rather new. And somehow her golden flakes ended up on my nails. Its faint, but I noticed it after I left. Oh, and I almost didn't mention how even after I scrubbed underneath my nails before sitting down with my nail tech, I got a comment about how nails can be dirty or sometimes nails are dirty, especially underneath. It is possible they weren't talking a out my nails, but it felt pointed nonetheless. Will I be going back? No. read more

I really liked the way the girl did my dip nails. when I went back the 2 nd time I had a young guy who was more interested in his phone than in doing my nails. I went on vacation and the 4 th day my thumb nail broke in half. I have never had a dip nail break off or peel off EVER! After 2 weeks I had 6 nails broken off or peeled off. Don't waste your time. They take "appointments" but like all the bad nail shops, appointments mean nothing. I showed up at 1 o'clock for a 1 o'clock appointment and sat in a chair for 15 minutes, I must've asked five different times if anyone was available for my appointment and finally at 1:40, I left. There are too many nail shops to tolerate these places that cram as many appointments as possible in to the detriment of their customers. There's never a straight answer. The place was packed with high school girls, which seems like those are the people they want to cater to. Save your time and your money and go to just about anywhere else. read more

Went for a relaxing girls day with my sister for her birthday. The atmosphere is more club-like than spa-like. They have techno club music playing pretty loud. Love that they have a full bar and drink menu, but we were hardly able to look at the menu and enjoy our drink because they were doing our nails at the same time as our toes, which was extremely uncomfortable and not relaxing at all. We couldn't talk, with our bodies all twisted while two people were working on us at the same time. I've had my nails soaked off many times while I received a pedicure, but not the full dip and everything right there in the chair. We felt like they rushed us out - the nails should have been done separately, especially since they were not that busy. Prices were high, and they even charged to take off my previous dip polish. The pedicure they charged for callous removal as well. Next time, we'll check out somewhere else. read more

The workers all are nice to your face speaking English but trust me, they all talk shit behind your back. They don't apologize even when you call them out on their behavior and one of them even had the audacity to roll her eyes and laugh, pretending like she didn't say anything when I know 100% she did. I speak and understand Vietnamese fluently, by the way. But it's ok I believe in karma and what comes around goes around and I feel sorry for them and not the other way around. I have nothing but good things to say about XO Nails Bar! I came in a few days ago after breaking two nails after getting acrylics at a different salon that did not have a thick enough layer of acrylic, leading to two nails breaking, causing excruciating pain (if you've ever broken a nail plate, you know what I'm talking about). I made an appointment at XO Nails Bar after a friend recommended it, and my experience could not have been better. Not only did they get the acrylics off my two broken nails, but they also took great care in cleaning in and putting on a new acrylic to splint my nail (for lack of a better term) so that it could grow out without being completely torn off. I was incredibly impressed with their professionalism, the time and care they took to repair my nails, and my experience as a whole. I also need to state that the salon is gorgeous and incredibly clean. While it's not exactly in my neighborhood, I will definitely be returning in the future! read more
