Considering opening up a mobile account with Xfinity? Just for kicks, try calling to find out if your local store has a particular phone in stock. Now, a logical person would think this is a no brainer. Just give them a call and ask them. Well, not for Xfinity! I was on hold for more than half an hour and talked to three different people. The conclusion: you can only find out if you go to the store in person! And, they won't mail a phone to your billing address. Only to your service address, even though the service reps will tell you otherwise. When you get done with service, they transfer to shipping, which will inform you they can only ship to your service address. By then, you will have wasted more than an hour on the phone. Now, that's customer service at its finest. If xfinity can't handle something as simple as telling you on the phone if their store has a phone in stock, do you really have confidence that they can provide acceptable customer service once you open an account? I have experience with multiple cable companies. As a current Xfinity customer, I can say that this is the WORST cable provider out there! The rates just went up to about $140 per month (verizon is $99 per month) and the cable CONSTANTLY cuts out. I was not given a wireless router, therefore I had to purchase one separately. On top of that, the internet is extremely slow! The only reason why I do not have Fios is because the cable lines are not wired for fiber optics where I currently reside. I would even recommend Optimum over Xfinity... do not waste your time or money, trust me! read more

If you like scripted apologies from ignorant customer service people as a substitute for internet service you paid plenty of money for, Comcast is a great choice. Comcast service might not be the worst service out there but it is in strong competition for that spot. Their customer service system cannot interpret the word "Yes" so going through the voice recognition system to get a connection problem solved is pointless. It took 10 minutes for me to get through yesterday. Most of the time I do not even bother. They have sent someone to our house to "fix" it but he admitted he had no idea what the problem was and just wasted time and gave me his card for a side business he was running. That says a lot. Do not use Comcast if there are any alternatives in your area. Their "service" - when it works at all - is not nearly as fast as they claim. They do have an incredible inventory of ridiculous reasons for why it is bad in your area - and even at your house. If you want to be paid to be entertained by a middle age woman explaining how the electrons in the wire are affected by the moon (and i am not saying that's not entertaining in its own perverse way) use Comcast. I'd rather watch a bad movie, but Comcast can't handle streaming. read more

Xfinity/Comcast is the worst. I only have it because it is the only provider where I live. I have 2 tV's and I use a Tivo Romeo and a Tivo Mini. I previousely had Verizon for many years and I not once experienced any issues with the cable, wifi or internet. With Xfinity/Comcast since day 1 when the service was installed I have been having issues/problems. I call Tivo and they walk me thru the steps to bring the service back but it is always, always on Xfinity's end. When you call them you are on the phone no less than 2 hours and when you are done you are more frustrated than when you began the call. in the past week I have made 2 calls to Xfinity, the first one the tech support told me they could fix the problem remotely, which was a lie. It turnes out that they have to come to my home to install a filter of some sort which they could have done when the service was first hooked up. The 2nd call was to get an estimated time of arrival for this tech to come to the house and I was told the appointment was for a different day not the one that was set up for me the previous night. As I said before I had Verizon Fios previously, same exact setup and never had any of these issues. If Fios was available in my area I would switch in a heartbeat. read more

If negative stars were an option xfinity would get them. They are the absolute worst. They solve no problems and just put you on hold while they do who knows what and never really solve any problem. "Troubleshooting" means just turning it on and off again rather then actually sending someone to see what the problem is. Paying for a service used to mean getting what you pay for now it just means over paying and under delivering. Comcast installed faulty new equipment and then charged me for a service call to replace the broken equipment and the tech was no better as he hooked it up incorrectly. We pay over $200 a month and they would not remove the $40 charge for an issue that was blatently their fault. read more

It is hard to imagine anything could be worse than the customer service you get from Xfinity. If your problem can't be fixed by resetting your modem, you are out of luck. The representatives are for the most part incompetent or just poorly trained and unable to help with any issues that are not simple like restarting your modem. They are reluctant to allow you to speak with a supervisor and waste more of your time not fixing the problem. The last rep I spoke with would absolutely not let me speak with his supervisor so I cancelled my subscription. I have wasted at least 4 hours on the phone with them and my saga is too long to describe fully here but suffice it to say that if you have a choice don't choose Comcast or hope you never have an issue. read more

After having been with Verizon for 7+ years we moved to Comcast, October 10th. We had Comcast around the year 2000 or so. They were terrible. Because of cost we went back to Comcast. The Xfinity service was surprisingly good, DVR, adaptor boxes and overall service was great. In 7+ years with Verizon I never had phone service out for more than 1-2 days. I lost phone service on Friday the 13th and my wife was told we will have someone out to you the 25th. Oh heck no. Had to call and have a "nice" conversation and finally today they showed. Well I have been a Yankees fan since 1966. While the tech is here he notices all my Yankees memorabilia and says you realize we have dropped the YES network? WTH are you talking about? As of November 15th, they dropped the Yankees network. No notice, no email, no nothing. I IMMEDIATELY got on the phone and cancelled my service. The agents I spoke to had "a don't give a crap attitude". No apologies, nothing. What I felt was deceiving was in October I specifically asked do you have the YES network? Yes they did. What they didn't tell me is that they had already been in heated negotiations with YES for a new contract. The tech showed me an internal email basically stating they felt YES was asking too much money to keep them. COMCAST why didn't you let the customers decide? Terrible customer service and this was after I spoke to 3 different agents today. Back to Verizon I went. read more

If i could give zero stars I would. I had an OK experience with comcast up until this week. Their service leaves a lot to be desired but their customer service was always ok. i called to inquire about cancelling my current service and possibly opening new service at my new apt in about a month. THIS WAS ONLY AN INQUIRY or so I thought. I had to run to a meeting while talking the the customer service rep so she asked me to call her back. i told her i would if i was interested in moving forward. she told me she would be working until 9pm. As the day went on i decided I wanted to get a quote from the other service providers in my area so i DID NOT call the representative named Deborah back. Well at 9:05 (five minutes after she was off work for the night) I get an email telling me my account has been created and here are the last 4 digits of the account number. WHAT!!!!!!!!! I didn't open an account, the representative Deborah took it upon herself to open the account. she had all my info from the current account i had with Comcast. When i brought this to Comcast's attention they acted appalled. that sentiment was given over and over as i talked to manager after manager trying to cancel this fraudulent account. each step of the way asking them to pull the tapes. mind you i had already spent an hour on the phone with them the day before doing my research (i chose to call them to get this info so this is time i spent freely of my own free will) However in order to finally get the account closed (an account their representative fraudulently opened in my name ) I spent at least 4 hours during my work day on the phone with them trying to get it closed right away being passed from person to person each one appalled at what happened but no one really helping in any way. so when i inquired about being compensated for my time (normally i don't think this would be appropriate accept for the fact that they committed fraud and the only reason i needed to make the call to begin with was because they committed a crime) they said they don't do that. I said well i missed out on 4 hours of work because i needed to close this fraudulent account right away and that's your fault. they again said they didn't know i was looking to be compensated for the issue. I wasnt looking to be compensated just for the issue i was looking to be compensated for the hours i now was not going to get paid at my actual job. They refused to do anything. this is a company that will give you a credit for being ten minutes late for an appointment or if you had a minor disagreement with a rep or installer but one of their employees commits FRAUD and break and actual law and they don't think anything needs to be done to compensate me for the hassle i went through. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! I will never make an inquiry about service with this company ever again since according to the supervisor i spoke to in corporate "sometime reps do that and then close the account the next day" i said that's illegal you cant open an account without someones permission. she then said "yeah I know" WTF!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME. she just openly agreed that as a company Comcast is aware that they commit fraud on a regular basis without consequence. well not today ... I'm fighting back, getting the BBB involved as well as my lawyer. of their own admission (on a recorded call i might add) this higher level corporate representative actually said this. when i brought up that regardless of it being highly illegal that wasn't even the case in this instance. I had to call and cancel the account and none of them knew how to do it. if you're thinking about dealing with this company DO NOT!!!!! they are fraudulent and will do nothing when you are defrauded except act really surprised like it never happened before. unfortunately due to their own arrogance in needing to explain themselves they openly admitted that they do this on a daily basis. so thank you five different comcast managers who finally called me back and said the same thing as if they had done it on their own. The worst - Literally gave away our phone number recently with no notification. Our home number has been the same for over 35 years. This number is my mothers business number. Her clients couldn't call her and she had no idea! It took over two weeks to re-connect the phone number once we realized there was a problem. Not to mention the painful, time wasting phone calls to clueless customer service representatives requiring us to explain and explain again - while IT WAS THEM who should be EXPLAINING how they could do this to a long time customer! Comcast did not even disclose (or know) why this happened. They pretty much said that our number can be given away at will. We have had to spend hours and hours on the phone with them over problems like this. They are THE WORST. If there were choices in the area, we would drop them in no time flat. We hate their cyustomer service and business practices. This week we are calling the Better Business Bureau on this company. If you happen to have things go smoothly, good for you, but they have no clue how inconsiderate AND DAMAGING their business is to their customers. Comcast is an incredible lousy company. I live in Princeton Manor, Kendall Park, NJ- and there are Comcast towers in front of every 2nd house. Those towers are ~3 feet high and they are ugly (very big) and cleaning over and are croocked. The beauty of the neighborhood is disturbed by Comcast !!! Most neighbors have already switched to Verizon FIOS. We (our Homeowners Association) called the Comcast Service many times and complained about those ugly leaning towers and there never was any response and never was any answer (i.e., customer service does not exist with Comcast). BY FAR THE WORST CABLE COMPANY!! I just paid my October bill and I have no idea why the money hasn't been posted on my account yet and now they're stating that I owe DOUBLE of what I originally paid. They shut off my services and shortly after I called them and they told me it was a mistake on THEIR end. This was on Thursday 10/11/18. THREE days later which is today, they have shut off my services AGAIN for whatever reason this time around. Now, the representative is stating that they never got the money and I owe around $473. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?! I asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me "it's taking a while since it's a Sunday". Hmm. not a surprise there. Then when I asked if I could end my contract, they told me I would have to call back tomorrow. Seriously? I'm completely over this company. AND what gets me more upset is that for a couple of years, I JUST had their internet services because I didn't want to switch to another company (I really liked the speed of the internet). A couple of years later I decided to get their cable services as well and ever since then, I've been having issues with this company. They LOVE to get your money but once they have it, they screw you over. This company is very sneaky and will say and do anything to take the money out of your wallet and BOOM your hit with so much disappointment. I'm going to be canceling my services tomorrow morning. I wish I could give a 0. I was a loyal Verizon Fios customer but unfortunately had to move to a building where Fios wasn't available. Setting up an account was super easy and I thought the switch wouldn't be so bad. After having no available appointments during my initial move in, (which was annoying in itself), I made an appointment for that following week. I called to double check of the pricing a couple days before our schedule installment appointment and the guy I spoke to on the phone was completely unreliable. He instructed me to look online for my billing and pricing questions since what he was looking at might not be accurate. Okay, strike 1. How are you in customer service but are telling me to find the billing information that you should have readily available for customers? So now it's the day of my appointment. I had a standard waiting window where the technicians would show up and of course, no one did. When I call to see if perhaps there was a mix up, the woman stated that no there wasn't a mix up but a system difficulty and that probably no one would be arriving today but "I may or may not get a phone at 6 PM with good news". Mind you my appointment was between 12-2. I was confused about this system glitch since I explained to the woman that I received several phone call reminders regarding the appointment. The woman explained that the messages I received were from the automated system. So let me get this straight, the automated system has a better way or tracking appointment than actual humans? And the actual humans can't place a phone call to new and old customers regarding appointments to explain the situation? So not only did I take off work, but I also waited around for the better part of the day for a 'maybe or a maybe not' if I would end up hearing from someone. I didn't. Strike 2. Of course there was no available appointments after the system glitch, so I had to wait another 3 days for an install appointment. Okay, so now we're at 9 days without internet or cable in my new apartment. Finally, my new appointment rolls around. I had an appointment window. The technician arrives 40 minutes late. Strike 3!!! The install took forever and I'm completely unsatisfied with the whole provider and company as a whole. Get your shit together Comcast. read more

Let me start by saying, I had Xfinity back when they were still Comcast (several years ago). I switched to WOW, for many years WOW seemed to be better. Over the past couple years I had WOW they upped their prices for no apparent reason while service diminished. I was tired of paying $170 for basic cable and internet. I made the switch back to Comcast or as they are now none as Xfinity. While originally I received a lower rate for the same thing it wouldn't take long for their true colors to show. Service was great until the beginning of 2019. I began noticing interruptions in the internet, which they could never detect and seem to only happen on occasion. Most recently I noticed 2 channels that I watch frequently start saying I am no longer authorized to watch. I finally got time to call and inquire about it and was told the channels were removed from my package. I was never notified and my bill amount has not changed. When I asked about this I was told the fine print states channels are subject to change without notice or without pricing changes. Further I was told there is absolutely nothing they can or will do about this. My price will stay the same, minus two channels I truly enjoyed. Unfortunately I am locked into a contract until October 2019, but I assured the guy that at that time I would most likely be looking for a new provider. I was foolish to think they have changed. The main and only goal of Comcast/Xfinity is to get new customers. Once you are a customer they don't care about you anymore. I moved to xfinity from AT&T after moving to an area that did not have AT&T - the Internet options, speed, service is horrible. I have called several times. we have wireless and can not even connect 15 feet away the house is only 1700sq, with AT&T our house was 3000 sq ft and we could connect anywhere. I have been taking Company meetings over the web for over 10 years, in out other 2 homes, hotels etc.. and with xfinity It always stopps and hour glasses throughout the whole meeting. I am in a 2 year contract, it has been 6 months and I am looking to get out of it and find another provider. read more

Thanks for nothing as usual Xfinity (Comcast). You sent a postcard that we should upgrade our box to X1. We have had nooooo problem with the current box, but the new voice activation was a novel idea, so we thought we would try it. Box come and we follow the instructions. Nothing. We call the 800 number and after talking to someone overseas for some time, we are told to unplug and replug and see what happens. Really troubleshooting technician, that is your solution? After 2 tries we are told that at our signal strength is not strong enough. Although it is fine for the box we currently have, and we will need to have a technician come out and we may or may not be charged. And the soonest they can come is the next day. Great lack of service as usual. At this point we have to work the next day like most people and won't be home between 11 and 1 pm on a Monday, which is the soonest a tech can come out. So, I am beyond irritated and asked a couple of times to be transferred to someone in the US. Worth a shot at getting some kind of resolution, but the lady on the phone kept saying she tried her best to help me. So I hung up. She called back, and said she would transfer me to someone in the US but I am irritated that we may have no cable now until a tech comes out. So I call today to schedule for the weekend. Then I am told they can't just schedule a technician,they need to trouble shoot. I was never asked if I was at home in front of the tv, or told that I need to have the box that does not work plugged in to schedule this appointment. The person I was speaking to just assumed that and started sending signals. To what I am not sure since the new box they sent is unplugged. And I still cannot schedule an appointment until I go home and retry this whole process that clearly doesn't work. At this point I will simply return the new box back, and hope that the old one works when I get home. So thanks for nothing comcast/xfinity. read more

Roberto didn't know what a modem was, told me he would call me back in 24. 40 hours later, I called them and told Melita that I wanted to cancel my "ticket order" and wanted to speak to a supervisor about the poor customer service. she rudely stated "well you didn't talk to me, ill transfer you!", spoke to Mike in tech dept, (wrong dept, nice guy) transferred me to Devonte in sales (again wrong dept) transferred me to Alicia/Felicia who was a Customer Svc Supervisor who kept talking over me, so I asked her if she was going to let me tell her my experience, "go ahead" she stated and then I gave her the update of my experience. she was not at all interested in my business or salvaging the relationship. then she flatly states "We don't have service in your area." I said well good luck breaking into this market with this level of customer service.
