Initially got my windows tinted , only for my back glass to shatter due to the cold weather and wet solution. They said they've never had that happen to a customer before. They claimed a lifetime warranty on their tint but still wanted a "security deposit" to replace it after arguing back and forth with me. A couple years later, I gave them the benefit of the doubt to help me with an audio issue. They charged me $105 for 35 minutes of "labor" and told me my subs were blown and that they needed to redo my whole sound system (Upwards of $600). I told them no thanks so they just threw my subs back in the backseat without rewiring them and also stripped a screw on my amp. I ended up finding the issue myself which was just a disconnection in the wiring under my carpet. Do not go here Unless you like wasting time and money. read more

You get what you pay for when it comes to electronics and installation and Xclusive auto sounds will do it right. Went to get an Estimate for a job two months ago, and was quote $100.00 to complete the entire job. So I just left this place again since I found time to go back, and they quote me $120.00 per hour, and that it might be longer and more money then the $120.00. I told they guy sent out they quote a100.00 flat charge and he started walking to the back service area. I told him don't bother as they a crooked! If I could make this ZERO stars I would!!! Cars that this shop has worked on. 1996 Corolla, Installed a new CD player and speakers that I bought. No problem at all, nice clean job. 1991 Acura Integra. The previous owner had installed an alarm system himself and it screwed up electrical system. The owner is courteous and polite and I don't mean to sound like a disgruntled customer so I'll write exactly what happened and why I was so dissatisfied: I have an old car (99 CRV) - driver side power window wasn't working; I replaced the front panel, that wasn't the problem. I take my car to the shop, ask the owner about the window, told them it's not the ignition/electrical panel, ask what it could be + request that they replace the motor . Owner says "it HAS to be the motor..Yes, I can definitely fix it..parts (just the motor) $150 and labor is $70" (including military discount supposedly). I get a call next day "there's a lot of work, it wasn't the motor; could be the regulator... $250 ADDITIONAL if you want to get that replaced". I told them it wasn't worth it for me and I just want to pick up the car since they can't fix it. I go to pick up the car and get charged another $45 because they "spent a lot of time troubleshooting". I understand the difference between a quote and the actual cost - but this one missed the mark significantly. So in the end, I paid $265 and nothing was fixed. I also happened to find out that the power window motor with or without the regulator is the same price. Either way, I don't claim to know too much about cars or auto-shop but this just seemed like I got the shitty end of a deal. I just felt swindled and felt cheated. Realizing that he just charged me $220 for NOT fixing the problem I came in for, he shouldn't have charged me the additional $45 for "troubleshooting". Would be happy to post pictures of the actual receipts. (1st one shows "Motor for $135 / labor $75, plus tax). Second one: $45 for "troubleshooting" ??? What exactly was trouble-shot if nothing was fixed? Power motor costs WITH the regulator costs $38 online btw; Perhaps they shouldn't try to fix power windows if they are "sound" guys. I did not get my sound system replaced so I can't comment on that. read more

Xclusive is located next door to St. Louis Chrome in Belleville close by the Dairy Queen at Lebanon Road and Old Collinsville. I had new wheels installed at St. Louis Chrome and visited Xclusive to see about replacing the radio in my 1999 Corvette. The owner assisted me. He is very knowledgeable and conscientious and is a degreed electrical engineer. He recommended an Alpine system and we scheduled the installation. He did the install himself and did a great job, finishing the work earlier than promised. Had no worries about the work at all. He also advised me about some future enhancements involving speaker replacement. He provided me a full demonstration of the new system and everything works as expected. I prefer to do business with small merchants instead of large chains. I will return here again when I need audio work performed. Great job! read more

He has done all my custom work on all my cars, from audio, lighting, emblems and so much more. At times i came to him looking do a high end install, and he would talk me out of it. Telling me its gonna be issues for me in the future. He could have easily done the work and made his money, but instead.......He cared! I trust this guy totally. He stands behind his work and has always given good advice! He gives you want you want, but he doesnt bullshit you! Amazing service and knowledgeable technician. I went to have a Compustar remote starter put in my car (12 Avenger) in August. He got me in the next day, earlier than my appointment, and got it done about 90 minutes. Joe was very knowledgeable about the systems he installed. He didn't try to sell me on extra features. When I asked him how much something would cost (an auxillary connection to control the rear defrost), he told me outright it would be more expensive to the point that it wasn't worth the extra cost and I would be just as well off to turn the heat on max and the vent on high. Watching him interact with another customer (the store can be busy at times) I saw him talking to a customer wanting to have "waterproof" speakers for his motorcycle. He told the customer there is no such thing as waterproof speakers and someone might argue that they can be water resistant to a point but eventually moisture will get in and damage the speakers. He just said he was more concerned with making sure a customer got what they wanted along with the information about it. You;d be hard pressed to find any business that would lose a sale because they want to be honest with the customer. Once the system was installed, he showed me how everything worked-which button combinations do what, the car will run for 15 minutes and then shut off unless the key turns the car on, tapping the brake without the key in the ignition will turn the engine off, it has a safety so you can't accidentally over crank the engine when you put the key in, the system will not interfere with the factory keyless entry controls. It has other features as options but I told him my main concern was range and structural interference. I got the 9000 remote. It claims a mile of range. He told me that's "middle of a corn field, no interference" range. I told him I work in a prison so there will be structural and radio interference. He told me outright that might take a lot of the range away. I haven't found the maximum range yet but it will work from every assignment I've worked so far as long as I step outside. During a heat wave last month, it was nice to have the car started and cooled off when I got out there. This winter it will be nice to be able to have the car warmed up and not have to fight to scrape ice off while the car warms up like I did last winter. Parts, tax, and labor, the system cost $540. A lot of people thought it was expensive but I asked them if it would be too expensive when it's -10 like last winter and they get mandated and end up having to scrape ice off windows (not being able to use windshield fluid for deicer because it's so cold, it freezes when it gets spread thin by the wipers) after working a triple shift (I did it) because everyone calls in. They didn't really have a response to that. If you want a system put in, this is the place to go. read more
