I worked for Dish One as a sales rep. The team I went with was not put together very well…read more Everything was last minute. Obviously they sell Dish Network and personally I like Dish more than DirecTV. Usually they can save you money but it only lasts for a year or 2. Pros: All installations are performed by Dish Network Corporate which is nice. Personally I like the idea of the company but did not feel like all promises were met for me as an employee. I was cheated out of $1,000 because one of the VP's of the accompany assumed he knew what was going on with my life and that because the manager who brought me on quit I had quit too. So he kept the back end of my holdback check. Pay scale for sales reps is tipped in favor of the company more than the reps. The reps very rarely will get payed the full value of what they are shown when signing up. There are always bad people in sales but there are also always good people. You just have to feel it out. Personally....I feel you might as well go through Dish Network Corporate. They won't charge you an extra $50 fee. Reps with this company have to charge that to make money.

He arrived in a sedan- no work van or ladders so I was immediately suspicious. Wanted to know when our equipment had last been replaced. Was asking for model numbers, etc. I think he thought I'd just say "Oh I don't know, let's go inside and look." At first he presented himself like he was working for DirecTV, it was only when I asked him outright "Who do you work for?" he admitted it was a company called Caliber. I told him he was not going into my house so then he switched to a high-pressure fear mongering tactic and told me this fantastic story that DirecTV had been sold to some investment group who planned to raise prices $50 to $100 per month over our current rate. And that they wanted to eliminate local channels and force all the customers over to streaming only. That DirecTV was in legal trouble and owed billions of dollars. But it was okay, because he could get me a "better deal." I finally got him to leave and called DirecTV to find out everything he said was a complete lie. Then I did a bit of research on this company called Caliber and it seems they go-between between consumers and Dish Network? If I wanted Dish I'd call them directly, no one needs a third party company involved. The fact that he was lying and putting a scammy high pressure fear-based sales pitch on me proves that this company is not trustworthy. So Logan from Caliber, let's not meet again.

Trust me: ask for Carlos…read more I spoke with two reps and was on the phone for 2+ hours each. They said there was NOTHING they could do to get my wifi on. Ridiculous. I waited 3 days for a callback. Never got the call. I called in, really upset and Carlos answered. He helped me log in and simple turn my wifi switch to "on" lol. Why the other reps could not figure this out and left me wifi-less with no solution? No idea. Horrible experience until Carlos.

Installation crews have destroyed my yard and run through two different sprinkler lines, left the…read morerock and soil in the street and gutter. When I called to file a claim I was told 10-14 days, I cant leave the soil and rock in the street for 10-14 days or it will be gone? I told them I would have to go take care of that part myself, which I did I cleaned up the mess had to dig the hole back up because they buried my decorative rock in the hole and left the dirt on top. I spent hours sorting rock out of dirt and garbage and making the area look right again. I asked that they call before they come, last time they came they left my gate open and I have a dog also I stated I want to be home when they are at my house. Two weeks later no word I am fed up so I dig up the two broken sprinkler lines, again see they have buried my rock. I spend a few hours repairing sprinkler lines and sorting out the landscape, with the sprinkler damage I cant level as the soil has washed away so I need to go buy more material. The next day I call to check on the claim and the agent informs me they are notes that the local contractor came out two days previous and fixed the issue. Said there was pictures. They had come out, without calling, saw that I cleaned up the street and the initial damage at their box took pictures and said it was done. Not even an attempt at fixing the sprinklers. when google first came into the area and ran the initial cable in the road and boxes they did the same thing, dup up the same rocks and buried them, broke through sprinkler pipe and set the box in the middle of the broken pipe. I never got anyone to be accountable and fixed it myself then as well. I swore I would never be a customer, 2 years later I needed a new provider and gave it a shot. I could not believe that this is how they still operate, this is google. this is what they do every day and this is how bad they are at it. I told the agent they had not fixed anything I had done it all, that I will need to go buy more material. Ok i will note that, keep your receipts. Ok well who reimburses me? The same local contractor that did the damage and came out and didnt fix it, I bet that wont happen. And of course my time is worth nothing. I suggested maybe one free month of service to make me feel like I didnt make a huge mistake, to make me feel like my time and effort was compensated. I was told no we dont do that.

I too am a DirecTV customer and signed up through New Star. I had a very different experience with…read moreboth DirecTv and NewStar. I was having trouble with getting my elderly V.A uncle used to where his channels were at (we get so many more than DISH! and channels we actually watch). I lost my paperwork and couldn't find the number for NewStar and just searched for the DirecTv number online. I called into DiredTv wanting some help with figuring out what to do and I could barely understand the agent on the line (language barrier) and they basically said they would have to send a technician out to me and it would cost me $40-$99. I declined, because I just don't have the money for that. Thought I was just stuck and very dissapointed. One week later I got a follow up call from NewStar just to see how I was liking my New DirecTv sytem. Let me say I am pretty embarrassed at how I treated the young lady on the phone. I vented and was very upset and she didn't interrupt me even once! She listen ACTUALLY LISTENED. Then she fixed it all right over the phone, I didn't even need a technician and that saved me time and money right there! She went through step by step with my uncle of making a favorites list and with the protection plan I had got from them they were able to send me out a remote that fit my uncles needs even better, for free ($15 plus shipping if I didn't have that protection plan). Remote got to us in 2 days and they had already setup a favorites list with my uncle and he was happier than he had ever been in his 80 years of different tv services (he is now deceased). I wish I had the name of that young lady and I hope she sees this review. To that agent if you do see this review I want to thank you and apologize again for how poorly I treated you on the phone. The main thing I have learned through this experience is to go through a authorized dealer for anything I can! Even when I didn't know it they had my back, THANK YOU New Star!!!!!
