I was brand new to the position and I had come into it with Kimball being put on as the property maintenance company so I didn't really know what to look for until I read our contract after about a year in the position. Upon doing so, Kimball was wasn't fulfilling their contract by: 1) not scheduling our irrigation system at all. I'd usually have to remind them to turn it on even. As a result of this, we had to replace about a third of our native grasses, shrubs, and ground cover. 2) they never checked the health of our irrigation lines. Again, they'd just turn our drip system on for the summer and that was it. The contract said they'd inspect it after every lawn mow, which was 1x weekly. As far as I could tell, that rarely, if ever, happened. 3) at first they were doing a great job of a now removal but by the end our ~2.5 year stint, they'd come out to plow our small private driveway about 2 days after a storm, which the snow would generally be melted by then. One time they even backed into our trash & recycling gate, broke it, and I had to call them about it for them to come clean. Only reason I found out was because one of the neighbors caught them in the act. On top of all the contractual troubles occurring during the first two years, I received the third year contract two months after our previous contract had expired and they tried raising our price by $100/mo. the third year. I talked to the project manager about it and we agreed that we should have a buffer year before raising the price. He sent me contract and I sent it back within the month. About 2-3 months later when I noticed I hadn't received a bill, I reached out to Kimball to find out that they had stopped servicing our property because they "did not receive a signed contract on time." This is all to say that from 2.5 years experience with them, I would avoid Kimball (and their parent company Brightview) at all costs. They did not honor their contract and because of this I constantly had to babysit them to honor their contract with us.

I looked around on Yelp and Google and called a few places for quotes. These guys got back to me immediately, said they could come out the same day, and gave me a quote and a few options for repair or replacement. This is incredible-- another local place I called wanted me to wait 2 weeks and pay $175 just for someone to come out and give a quote. They showed up that same afternoon, did great work, charged a reasonable price, and even adjusted two sprinkler heads for me for free. I was impressed. The next morning I noticed some wet ground near where they worked and thought maybe they had accidentally left something leaking. Ben came right back to check it out. But it wasn't related to their work-- it was a different sprinkler problem of mine that I hadn't previously noticed. Ben fixed that problem also and again charged me a really reasonable amount. Consider me doubly impressed. Overall, these guys blew away any expectations I had for sprinkler repair. They were responsive, fast, honest, did great work, and charged a reasonable amount. They even were equipped to do some more complicated work on a backflow prevention system. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

We're all human, so we can understand why the natural human instinct is to seek revenge whenever we feel that "we were done wrong!" People also tend to write positive reviews when lots of $$$ is put into incentivizing customers to "Like" their page, or "Follow" them, or whatever else they do to give a perception that they are better by all the glowing reviews than they really are. That's just the way the world operates right now and I'm sure most would agree. It's unfortunate that people aren't driven to write reviews when a service like this does an excellent job. It's all about $$$, isn't it? Do we ever question our intent before writing a negative review? I hope most people do, but reality is, they don't. Those who question their intent before submitting their blown out of perspective negative review are able to get a better perspective and find positivity towards others. Maybe the sales guy that "over-promised and under-delivered" was having a bad streak of "No Deals!" and real needed to make a deal so his kids can eat, Or maybe the owner of the company isn't aware of this happening and loses customers to the companies that invest the $$$ to make the world see how great they are, but really not, or amber people just work their 40 hours week-to-week because that's what they feel they "Have to!" Ken used some excuse that they were running behind schedule because of the SNOW we had this year. Are you kidding me, REALLY!!! Last year they did 7 applications this is what my lawn looks like.
