Really impressed with the drink menu & tase! I ordered the Mocha De Valle and it was a unique blend of coffee and chocolate! My bf ordered the Prehispanico drink and it was sooo good! This drink was the perfect blend of coffee and salt! We also ordered a hot chocolate and that was fun, tasted like authentic hc would taste like, gave hint of real cacao being used. The shop alone is worth going in to check it out, it's has a cool and modern vibe to it with a hint of traditional culture. Also, the employees were amazing, they were super knowledgeable, helpful, and welcoming!
Delicious latte! Stopped in Ensenada for our cruise and happened to find this place on google maps a few minutes away from the main street where our ship docked and was very glad we did! Interior was cutely decorated with many different plants being rooted, quaint. Very friendly barista who spoke english. Latte was full bodied, smooth, roasty, just yum.
Saturday, September 7 Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas 85℉ / 55% Humidity Coffee shop that's a short (ish) walk from the port. I spent most of my day at La Bufadora, and did not have much time to venture far when I came back. Xcaanda was in my bookmarks and I needed a drink. They are located near Avenida Blancarte and Carretera Federal 3. Between an Italian restaurant and a clothing store. Some of the parking spots in front are exclusively for neighboring businesses, but I don't know if they enforce it. Adequate amount of seating inside and out. It wasn't too busy when I visited on a weekend afternoon. Pesos and credit cards accepted. Communicating in English was a breeze. The barista was able to provide helpful drink explanations and recommendations. The menu has your usual espressos, lattes, and teas. Not in the mood for caffeine, I ordered their Naax copijcha. It's 100% Oaxacan chocolate with agave, with your choice of milk or water. The drink has a rustic texture to it, you can taste the earthiness of the cacao beans they used. If you're looking for a good cup of specialty coffee in Ensenada, this is your place. Yael served up an EXCELLENT experimental pour over, explaining the hybrid process and tasting notes. My wife (who is not the coffee nerd I am) got an espresso and tonic that was also great! I came on a cruise and this was just a short walk from the port. Couldn't recommend enough!
The coffee miel y canela is super yummy and refreshing. We will definitely come back again. The dirty chai aka chai sucio was full of flavor and had a great kick of espresso. The service was friendly and patient with my Spanish since I wanted to practice. The ambiance is my ideal cafe culture, naturally lit and green.
If you're going to spend 60-90 Mexican Pesos, their hot/cold latte/coffee/expresso beverages are high quality and very local in taste here. Easy walk from the cruise port and through Ensenada's old district. They are used to serving American tourists, so yes, they can speak English here. I prefer using Spanish in Baja California. Staffs are experienced, welcoming, and knowledgeable. This is a very tiny cafe storefront, but you can find seats and tables inside or outside. Upkeep is very modern with good branding and modern decorations. People come here to chat or relax most of the time. Positive atmosphere next to small retail stores. We came here first before deciding where to go next in Ensenada since we've been to this city three times. Staff was helpful and surprisingly brought over two cups of water to our table after we got coffee/expresso. Good people. Prehispanico expresso with spicy salt flavor was excellent. Hot mocha del valle was excellent in taste too. It's definitely a very different cafe experience here with uniquely branded coffee. Just let the staffs know exactly how you'd like your beverage. They do a great job customizing for you and making you feel special during the visit. It's much better than any Starbucks locations in my opinion. Strong flavors with excellent ingredients in the coffee blends. Xcaanda stands out. We will definitely come back next time. High quality taste. Delicious beverages.
So I decided to take a day trip to Ensenada the other day. After making the 3-hour drive from LA, I was famished. I stopped by Victor's for food, then I walked half a block to this fine coffee shop. I walked in and proceeded to ask the barista for recommendations. He informed me that this was a Oaxacan coffee shop, and he recommends any drink with chocolate. Since I had coffee at Victors, I opted for the Naax Copijcha, which is made of pure cocoa, milk, and a touch of honey. The drink was amazingly smooth, and had the nice chocolate flavor without the artificial additives nor the excess sugar that I encounter at most other coffee shops. I noticed that they had pastries here, and I opted for the Dona de Chocolate Oscuro y Nuez, which is a doughnut made with pure cocoa and other ingredients. I actually took the doughnut for a family member back in LA, so I will have to try it the next time I'm in town. The staff here is efficient, friendly, and helpful. The ambience is relaxed, and I overall had a great time relaxing here a bit before hitting the road again. This is a nice, new coffee shop. If you find yourself in the tourist area of Ensenada, come give them a try.
If I could pack this coffee shop and take it home with me, I would. This coffee shop, located right off the main road in Ensenada, and not difficult to find, is GOLD. Small but quaint, love that it opens up to the street for people watching. I ordered a variation of an iced Mexican mocha (my usual at any coffee shop) and it hit the spot. The espresso is strong but delicious. They have a good selection of drinks to tickle anyone's fancy. A friend of mine and I happened to stop by Xcaanda when they were celebrating their 5th year anniversary of being open; the owner had samples of molé (Oaxacan staple) as a "thank you" to his customers. Let me tell you, I tried all three different kind of samples and ALL were amazing. I'm secretly hoping they open a molé restaurant. Anyways, back to the coffee. Delicious. Try it out. Family owned. Quality. You won't be disappointed.

It was smooth and delicious! The coffee shop had a chill vibe and the staff was very welcoming. Definitely recommend this spot for a cup of Joe!
Excellent coffee shop who also is a coffee roaster setting them apart for others. Coffee is very smooth and sweet. Staff is very kind and atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. I had pour over on this day, and enjoyed black brewed the day prior. Can't go wrong with either. Highly recommended visiting this spot.

If you're looking for the best coffee in Ensenada, Xcaanda is a must. Warm, welcoming service and seriously high-quality coffee. Their specialty lattes stand out, especially the Prehispánico with hoja santa and sal de guano unique and memorable. You can tell there's real intention behind everything they do. I had the chance to meet Yael and Alberto, who shared the story behind the shop and their coffee their great hospitality that takes the experience to another level. Highly recommend. I was looking for a cool coffee shop in the area to sit and relax in, and luckily I found Xcaanda! The staff speak both English and Spanish, care about their customers, and are super friendly. I ordered the Mocha del Valle, which was rich and flavorful. The latte art was also beautiful! Highly recommend! There are a few tables inside and outside for customers to sit in, and the interior is trendy and airy. This is a perfect spot to unwind and get caffeinated! read more

Come in and enjoy a delicious cup of bliss. Early in the morning or later in the afternoon. It is a quaint place with delightful staff. They speak English, so do not worry, just walk in with confidence and place an order. Keep in mind- do not expect Starbucks. Expect a new flavor and better quality. This place has great coffee and this is our second time in a few months. We found this the first time walking back to the cruise ship and smelled the wonderful coffee aroma. The staff has changed ownership since our last visit in August but still great service and coffee. I ordered the cold brew and it was delicious as before. read more

Amazing coffee! Located near Downtown Ensenada and a great pick me up after shopping in the area. We stumbled across Xcaanda walking along the streets - as a coffee enthusiast, I had to stop and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a Matcha Latte and the Mocha de Valle (espresso/artisan chocolate), per recommendation of the barista. Mocha de Valle was amazing and came with little pieces of the artisan chocolate at the bottom, slightly sweetening each sip of espresso with a subtle hint of bittersweet notes. I loved it so much I ordered one for the road to-go. Baristas (at least the one I ordered with) spoke fluent English and was very helpful. Love their aesthetics and the vibe. They have a few small tables lined up against the wall if you want to sit; otherwise, they'll make it to-go for you. Slightly expensive for the area but still cheaper than Starbucks. Highly recommend if you're in the area and a coffee lover. read more
