Called the number on their van and the person clearly thinking it funny to speak non-sensically and impersonate a different languages then claiming only to speak Spanish, then laughing and hanging up the phone. this happened twice. From what I can see they have mix reviews on here but anyone should think twice hiring a company that's lets their employees trespass, urinate on private property and laugh on the phone about it when you call. read more

They explained it before i authorized the work but I had thought that the work would include putting in new drywall and patching things up...considering the name is Xact "restoration." Between 2-3 stars. The cost was pretty high at 1800 bucks to clean up a small section of the wall. Maybe that's the going rate but they were recommended by our plumber and we basically just wanted to get it done as it was the holidays. Small leak in the wall caused some mold to grow. They came and cut open a 4x8 section of drywall, sprayed some sanitizer solution, built a little plastic sheet "containment" area and left their dehumifying machine. A couple of days later they took everything down and sprayed some paint primer? onto the dead mold and called it a day. The guys were friendly but were late every time they came out and relatively hard to reach by phone. Guess not, went to home depot to pick up some drywall and patched it up ourselves afterwards. read more

Was recommended Xact restoration from our plumbers after a pipe burst inside our walls. We had a very mixed experience. While Mike, our technician, was good on first impression when he came out the next day, the remainder of the services were subpar. It took almost 2 weeks for the work to be completed although the actual hours were closer to 8-10 working hours. There were a variety of excuses, between health issues and scheduling issues. On the date of the insurance agent visit, the technician showed up without any equipment to measure humidity levels. A couple times we were told they would be here the next day to do work, and at 4pm I would have to call the office and get the runaround to find out there's some last minute scheduling changes that I was not informed of. For some reason it was impossible to get a different team assigned. Whenever we called into the office trying to get ahold of the technician, the office manager would say "let me find out and call you back". I never got a call back, but they would make the technician responsible call me back. If I'm calling to complain about not being able to get ahold of someone, don't you think it would be important to call me back directly? When they did do the work, the floor was thrown out the window into the side of our yard and not hauled away. We had to call the office a month later for the trash to be hauled away. Obviously nobody wants to have to use a restoration company. Ideally damages wouldn't happen. But if they do happen, I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

They were referred by the emergency plumber who came to fix the flooding in our house. These people were responsive and fast so it seemed promising, but they're truly predatory scam artists. They came in immediately with fans stating there was no commitment. We decided to work with them but they kept bringing fans despite the fans causing the electricity in the house to trip. They brought in 12 fans, we could only run 9 simultaneously or else the outlets would trip. They charged insurance for 19. The fans took up the entire downstairs area, we hardly had space to walk and they were so noisy! We asked them to take some fans back and they refused. They told us the insurance will pay for everything. But when i checked the fine print on the contract, it stated that the homeowner is responsible if insurance doesn't pay. Nowhere does it state that they won't do or charge us for work that insurance hasn't or won't approve. They'll try to rack up your bill and if insurance doesn't pay, they'll come looking for you. And these people became REALLY AGGRESSIVE when I told them we no longer wanted to work with them. This was especially concerning to me since one of the guys went around my property and took pictures and video of things not related to the flood - from my cars, to my yard layout, to my dogs. So be careful with these people and read the contract they give you if you wish to work with them. read more

When we decided to not to repair the damage and asked them to come back and get their equipment, they gave us an invoice for $780!!!! What a ripoff! I was referred to this company by my plumber. Darrell came first and he was really responsive even by text message. It was really difficult to reach someone to schedule someone to come out the week of Thanksgiving and I left a few messages before he intervened. He said that if I can match the price he would honor that and also give another 15% off. Roger was the one that came out and he was also very responsive and reachable by text or phone call. He was very friendly and gave me an honest estimate. they were very quick with the work and where able to work with in my schedule. It was a pleasure working with this company during a stressful time involving water damage. It was about $1700 to open up the ceiling, clean out the damage, dry out the water, and take out the debris. My insurance unfortunately did not cover most of it. It was a two part session where the second-half involved leaving the heater and dryer for a few days before they picked it up. read more

NOTE that these guys are here to help set up and make the environment as safe as possible for plumbers and leak detection groups prior to any work. The technicians that came out were very patient and professional when explaining things to me and my family about why they need to do certain procedures and the purpose of their set up. They set up their equipment to dry out the problem areas and dehumidify the wall to make sure that no further water damage is happening while we set up appointments with a leak detection group and a plumber. Immediately, we saw how much water was being pulled away from the problem walls and how much moisture had collected behind the walls. A pinhole leak appeared in the crawl space under my house over the weekend and had been shooting a fine stream of hot water upwards on to my living room floor joists and sub floor (why does it seem these leaks rarely point down to the ground!). By the time I'd discovered the issue, my solid wood mahogany floors were beginning to swell and buckle in a 2'-3' radius. Kyle Bermel and his team were at my house within an hour of my call and were able to investigate immediately. He was friendly and personable and eased my nerves as I'd feared I might lose my floors costing thousands of dollars and making a mess of my house and business (work full-time from home) for weeks. We came to an agreement on price--which was much less than I'd feared it might be--and inside of a few minutes they were at work. So fast and efficient. Kyle explained everything he was doing in detail and why it needed to be done. All the noise and activity made my two dogs nervous and agitated but Kyle is a pet owner himself and knew how to work around animals and how to approach as a stranger (which so many people have not a clue) on their turf. Result? He and his team got along famously with my dogs and that is rare with most plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. who work private residences in this city. Kyle came back as promised in 3 days to check on the progress of moisture damage and all was well. The bowed edges of my hardwood floors flattened back down and the sub-floor and joists underneath were, once again, dry and stable. No need for further treatment and they tore down fans, dehumidifier and closed up cleaning up after themselves throughout the entire process. About a month a go, I received a call from my tenant to let me know of some plumbing problem, when I arrived there were BIG mess in both bathrooms: the toilets, bathtubs, carpert. I realized that there must be something wrong with he sewage line, I called out my plumber who confirmed and then he referred me to Xact restoration. I met with Carlos who helped me with the process as well as calling my insurance company to report this loss. The following day we had Sam the Xact technician who did the whole process of cleaning, disinfecting and, anything that has been touched by the sewage needed to be demolished. It saddened me to see a bathroom that were remodeled about 5 years had to be gutted out (the granite, beautiful tiles etc..) Sam did an excellent job explaining to us the process and he always come in to work with a positive attitude. My tenants needed to be evacuated from the house and they had to stay at a hotel, needless to say there were not happy, but because of Sam sense of humor, politeness and showing an attitude of "I am here to do my job with the least amount of interuption for your daily life", my tenants were less angry of the situation. They installed professional size fans in both bathrooms suck out the humidity and therefore prevent molding from happening), Sam worked from morning to late evenings to make the process go as fast as possible. It was early morning that my wife and i discovered a leak coming from the ceiling in-between our two stories of the house. The plumber who I use (and have used for years and trust) had Xact call me. They sent Kirk out to our house right away. Kirk showed up and was professional and courteous and was quick to check and determine exactly what needed to be done. They setup the machines to dry out the wall where the leak was occurring, coordinated the asbestos/lead testing because my house was built in 1977, and then once cleared to do so (no asbestos thank God), Kirk came back and made the cut and we were able to identify the leak. These guys came out to give me an estimate on a clean up of some sewage that had leaked from a plumbing problem at my house. They gave me an estimate of over $1200 to clean up a small pile of poop with a shovel. I told them they are crazy. I called the owner and asked for an explanation. Carlos began to explain to me that there is a "Blue book" of standard prices for clean up. I asked him where I could see this magical blue book, but he said he could not locate it and did not know how I could get access to see it. I asked him to explain more and he just started stuttering. I told him I would post this on Yelp unless he cleared up the confusion but I never heard back from him. I ended up paying a laborer $50 to shovel it up and put some lime down to dry up the spill. I am glad I did not buy into their fairy tales. Beware of these guys as they will take advantage of you when you are in a sticky situation. Its fine if they want to charge what they want, but Carlos don't start making up s$#% just to justify your loco prices. read more

Sorry, but our experience with Roger of XACT was a huge disappointment. After a pipe burst in our house we called XACT on a referral. While appearing to be knowledgeable, holes were drilled in our cabinets that the insurance company later viewed as unnecessary and adding to the costs of repairs. Roger's inability to deal with our insurance company regarding XACT's compensation caused delays in our repairs, false starts for the removal of damaged materials , and slowed the process of my family being able to return home.
