Eric was a great help in solving my problems and tried to save money throughout the process. I would recommend them to anyone.

Its good to have an independent Dish provider. I don't like the Dish company much because they are so opaque.

I am surprised that I am one of the 2 anomalies that have experienced good service. But then again,…read moremost people will write the "not great" reviews over the "positive" reviews especially since this is a customer service based as opposed to food service. This Spectrum Store is located on the other side of the Trader Joe's on Imperial, and is across from the Sit 'n Sleep Mattress Store. With any Trader Joe's locations, the parking is always not great so it also translates into limited parking for Spectrum Store customers as well. Most of the time, unless urgent, I always make a reservation because then I know that I will hopefully be helped within a certain time frame. There is a tablet for customers to check-in for their reservations, right as one steps into the store. There is a monitor (to the right) that will show where the reserved party is, or where the walk-ins are. The employees will call your name and one will head to their kiosk. Most of the time I go, I do not have to wait too long (maybe 30 mins max one time on the weekend with a reservation), which makes sense since most people will be stopping by when they are not working. We've always had our questions answered and treated with respect. Yes, they are busy and people come in with questions in regards to their multitude of services (internet, mobile, cable, and phone). Yes, some customers ahead of you may ask many questions, or may not know how to ask their question for the answer they are looking for, and the wait time does take a bit longer. For certain things, I find it easier to stop by a Spectrum store to get my answers (sometimes) than to call their help line, which is not bad also because it is always a U.S. based customer service representative who answers.

Prepare to wait an hour. Employees are rude and the manager is a moron. They don't care. This store…read moreis poorly ran.

He is so patient and kind in his explanation (not all of us are tech savvy) he also went 100% above and beyond for us in helping to ensure our event had the connectivity we needed to be successful. I will recommend this company to all of our contacts! Chris, you are an awesome human being, and btw it was a pleasure meeting your son today as well. Thank you kind sir, for all of your hard work. May your business flourish!

I'm usually willing to give people a benefit of the doubt, but honestly, I should trust my gut more…read morewhen there are multiple red flags from the start. I reached out to Empire Satellites Inc after looking online for someone to install my new Starlink dish. Chris responded promptly via text from a different number (red flag number one). Quoted a price for the install - $349, which I thought was reasonable. Set up an appointment for the same day at 2:30pm. At 3:00 get a text that he we will be "couple of hours late" (red flag number two). OK, no problem. Finally shows up at 6:10pm. Started to look around the house to find a good location to mount the dish. Settle on a tall side gable (single story house), but his ladder is only 18', so he says that that's as high as he can mount it, not at the gable apex. Not ideal, but OK. Casually mentions that he charges an extra $100 for the "attic work" (major red flag number three). As if most people expect to have wires hanging on their exterior walls? I don't argue, but at this point I am really expecting to see stellar work quality, above and beyond attention to detail. This is where things really go to shit. Chris gets up to the facia and starts mounting the dish in a mount that I provided. I am looking from below and clearly can see that the mount is not plumb and is wobbling, as he puts three lugnut screws through the facia. He assures me that it is plenty stable. Red flag number four. Drills a hole through the wall for the cable and goes inside the house to fish for it in the attic. In the meantime, I get up the ladder and take a picture of the mount. It is clearly not fully bolted to the facia, with one of the bolts screwed at a 45 degree angle. The thing wobbles like crazy. Thirty minutes later, and two more holes in the ceiling plate from the attic, the cable is still not down to the final location, despite the fact that 5 extra ethernet cables were routed through the same wall from the attic by my electrician a few weeks before. Chris offers to surface mount the wire to the wall in the finished pantry room - ugliest, laziest install ever. Red flag number five. This is when I say "that's enough" and kick him out of my house. He is genuinely surprised when I offer to pay him only $250 for the horrendous job he did, and not the full $450 he was expecting. Before he leaves, he blames me for providing a bad mount for the dish, and tries to upsell his own mount for $100. Unbelievable. I have worked with dozens of subs int he last two years while building my house, and know my way around tools and trades. This was one of the worst experiences. The guy has the worst work ethic and zero integrity.

Wow, customer service still exists in this country, and Mihai at Direct Hi Def is living proof…read more Matter of fact, I hope this review does not get flagged for being too positive. First off, let me confess that I have ten thumbs when it comes to electronics and gadgets. So, when the cleaning crew I hired yanked my TV, DVD player, speakers and FIOS cables all to hell, I was up a creek without a paddle. Nothing worked except the DVD, and that was now all pixilated. Damn it! Was I going to lose my unwatched episodes of Wilfred and the season premiere of Sons of Anarchy??? Ahh to hell with that! So I found Direct Hi Def off Yelp and give them a call around Sept 5 to explain my problem. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, since I was heading to Italy for vacation) I was not able to schedule Mihai until I returned. When I returned to work on Thursday, he was the first person I called. He remembered my dilemma and worked on scheduling me asap. Now anyone in the L.A./OC/IE area knows what a pain the commute can be, so we had difficulty setting up an evening appointment during the week. I am in Chino Hills, and their office is in Irvine. No problem, Mihai offers to come out on Saturday. We are in touch back and forth the past few days (great communication by phone and text), and he shows up as scheduled today Saturday as agreed. Mihai goes to work, and less than 90 minutes later, my FIOS is back up, my speakers work, the DVD looks sharper than ever, and now I have a iPOD outlet for my receiver. All at a more than fair price, mind you. It was only in talking to Minhai that I come to find out that he is committing to my project in between several personal engagements today. He took the time, effort, and gasoline to drive from deep OC to CH on his day off to fulfill his commitment to me. All I can say is, if you need ANYTHING in the home audio/video installation, repair, or upgrade departments, Direct Hi Def is your solution. When it is time to bring my home audio/video into the 21st Century, DHD will be the only one I call. Thanks a million, Mihai!
