I've gone to X Beauty Studio to get my makeup done a couple times with Lis and just recently got my hair Balayage'd with Jasmin. The salon is very clean and all employees are friendly and professional. When you're driving by the salon, it can appear to be closed, but it is open throughout the day, and they even opened up super early on a Sunday so I could get my makeup done for graduation. There is street parking along the side street and your car will be safe. When you're getting your makeup done here, you're their main priority - unlike when you go to the mall to get their makeup done and they stop a few times throughout your appointment to cater to others or push products on you that you won't even know how to apply right when you get home. The makeup they use lasts all day (I had it on from 7am-12midnight) and it still looked flawless at night even though I was out in the sun in June all day! Before booking an appointment to get my hair done, I stopped by one afternoon to show Jasmin my hair. At this consult she told me what she would have to do, how long it would take and a quote. I gave her my hectic availability and she was able to book me an appointment the following week! During my appointment, Jasmin explained each step and why she had to do something a particular way and how long each product would be in my hair. She also explained that every final result differs on the hair. I really appreciated this because never in my journey was I nervous or expecting a result that was not realistic for one session. When my hair was finished, it felt and looked so healthy! I opted to have Jasmin use the oil in my hair that she recommended to help my hair after being bleached. I have gotten my hair bleached at other salons before but was left with dry, brittle and easy to break off. Its been over a month and it still is healthy and soft feeling! She also cares about hair health because she recommended a lengthly gap (8-10 weeks) before coming in to do a lighter shade of balayage. I really appreciate this about her. I found Jasmin roughly two years ago when I stumble on her Instagram and realized she was a henna and makeup artist. After following her and seeing her go to beauty school academy, graduating and now owning her own salon, I had to make an appointment for a consultation. I have chemically damaged hair from other salons from them leaving the color to long or not processing right. So despite it has been 4 months since I last colored my hair is slowing improving. Jasmin did not try to upsell me with products or services but gave me feedback on what I need and should do for the maintenance of my hair. I plan to make her my go to girl for all my beauty needs she is a 1 stop shop where they offer colors, updos, makeup, extensions, waxing, and just about everything in between. It is my second time getting a haircut here and both times I felt like a queen! First of all I am a huge advocate for supporting local business, especially if they are owned by women, and even more if they are owned by women of color. It is really exciting to see Jasmine living her dream as a salon owner and fulfilling her purpose - and that is what makes me come back. She was also kind enough to invite me to her open house style event where she had different vendors come so as another small business owner it was nice to have this connection and network. While I used to never pay more than $20 for a hair cut, I am happy to spend my money here and splurge a little more on it just to support her and to, honestly, get more than what I pay for! She has so much talent. I love the location also, super convenient and close to a lot of local little spots like a lot of food places and Starbucks which is important when you're going to get gland up super early in the morning. I recommend Jasmine as a stylist. She listens to what you want done, makes you feel comfortable, is friendly and sociable while she works. The studio is clean and conveniently located. I am satisfied with the haircut and the overall experience. Since she does such a good job and you will probably want to duplicate her results, I recommend that you make a point of watching her work on your hair so that you can do it yourself later. My chair was facing away from the mirror, so I wish I had asked her to orient the chair so that I could watch her work. I am sure she would have been quick to accommodate me, but we were busy chatting, and before I knew it, we were all done! I am going to go back to ask a few questions so that I can reproduce her results at home, since I really liked how she did my hair. Pricing is reasonable, and she won't let you over-tip her. Also her manner is refreshing, and she doesn't try to get you to change your mind about how much length you want to lose, or sell you more than you are seeking.
