PERFECTION. Needed a…read moresalon close to home (I typically.. get my hair cut and colored overseas) so I saw reviews on this place close to my house. I sent in a request on Yelp and they asked that I text/call a number. After some interactions through text, a picture of what I wanted, and instructions that I wanted a 1" trim from the bottom length and a relayer, I scheduled my appointment a few days later. This spot is VERY Chinese. Lots of banter in the language but I liked the energy it gave. A little bit of a language barrier but I tried to keep it short and brief, and we "communicated" through photos of what I wanted, and what he could do. Almost all the chairs were full. I brought my son with me and everyone was nice to him (-: He was able to sit on a chair and wait for me while I had my hair done. Ming gave me exactly what I wanted. Basically a refresh. They were able to shampoo and rinse my hair, I was put in the chair, Ming and I had an exchange, and he went to work with precision and expertise. QUICKLY may I add.. I found my local salon. I'll have to try color at some point. THANK YOU MING!

I showed the stylist a…read morephoto from their own Instagram and specifically asked for a layered haircut similar to the photo. I have had layered haircuts at other salons before, so I know what a layered haircut should look like. I kept explaining what I wanted, but the stylist kept telling me that he was giving me layers when the result clearly did not look like the layered style I showed him. It felt more like a bang trim with my hair cut shorter. I was also very uncomfortable because the stylist had a very strong cigarette/smoke smell on his breath during the service, which made the experience unpleasant. If the stylist couldn't achieve the style I requested, I would have preferred him to be honest and explain that before cutting my hair shorter. As a first-time customer, I left feeling very upset and disappointed.

What is unacceptable is that you dismissed this damage as a "minor error" instead of taking real accountability. This wasn't just a bad haircut--it wiped out 16 months of effort I put into growing my hair. You claimed that based on your 20 years of experience, you couldn't cover extension costs because they're a personal expense. But do you really think I wanted to deal with high-maintenance, expensive extensions and live with them for at least the next two years? You caused me so much distress, yet you're only focused on the expenses you don't want to pay right now. That shows a complete lack of professional ethics. If you had taken true responsibility and made a serious effort to make things right, I wouldn't be this angry. To be clear, this isn't just a standard complaint about bad service for a paid haircut. You forced an absolute nightmare of a result onto me, and I hope you don't walk away thinking a simple refund settles it.

When I reached out she asked me what I wanted to do and was able to give me pricing and a breakdown of everything from the beginning. Her transparency made the booking process really simple and I was so comfortable. I received a cal invite and text message that my appointment was coming up. While small, this still left a great impression Stylist Lulu was absolutely amazing and wonderful. I had ALOT of trauma with my hair. I expressed this to Lulu during my booking and she was extremely kind--especially with my almost cold feet. As she worked on my hair she walked me through each and every step. When it came to cutting she let me see and feel where she'd be cutting and didn't deviate from the plan. When the coloring began she patiently explained what she was doing, and checked in on how far up the color would go, etc. She was professional and experienced and had great command of her trade. She was easy going and fun to talk to and It made the experience that much better. Results My cut and color came out BEAUTIFULLY!! I've gotten so many compliments. Seriously, Lulu is so great!! Shop The shop was easy to get to with parking available. We started exactly on time and finished in the estimated time frame. All of the equipment used were clean and up to date. The station was neatly organized and the room itself was styled beautifully. The area was well lit and the chairs were actually comfortable! All in all, I had a wonderful time and went back again for touch ups. After 10 years of searching, I've finally found a salon--and stylist--that I can call "home" to. I've referred everyone I know and I can't wait to go back for my next root touch up!

They talked to me a little to get the general idea of how much styling I actually do and helped a lot with that. I was afraid they would take off too much length since I said I wanted to keep the length, but the cut was clean and easy to manage. The shampoo was nice and the blow dry was a pleasant change to some of the other cut and dry styles. The blow Dry left my hair sitting in a pleasant natural shape, not dry and crispy. The salon was a nice and lenient space and gave the effect of a well managed and not overbooked appointment. By the time I got home my hair was still sitting nicely, which is a great sign that the cut was done well. I will for sure consider coming back for my next trim.

Hair done by Masooda My experience here was very…read moredisappointing. My hair was 100% virgin hair and had never been dyed before. I naturally have dark brown hair, and I came in with an inspiration picture asking for an autumn copper-brown reddish color. They were very confident that they could make the color I wanted happen, which made me feel comfortable moving forward with the service. After the first round, she was already getting ready to send me home, but I told her I was not happy with the results because my hair barely looked different from when I came in. It stayed mostly the same dark brown, except for some patchy plum-colored areas. I paid $120 for that first service. After I explained that I was unhappy, she recommended bleaching my hair to get me closer to the lighter copper-brown reddish color I originally asked for. What bothered me was that before starting the bleach, she never told me she would also be doing another client's hair color at the same time. While the bleach was sitting in my hair, there was one point where she was away for about 40 minutes. I was so nervous about the bleach sitting in my hair that I actually started a timer myself because I did not want anything to happen to my hair. She was also leaving at other times in between for around 20 to 30 minutes while working on the other client. I really wish my hair had been monitored more closely throughout the bleaching process, especially because of how light it ended up becoming. Instead of the autumn copper-brown reddish color from my inspiration picture, I ended up with orange and blonde hair. I paid another $230 for the second service, bringing my total to $350. I am extremely disappointed that I spent $350, went through two rounds of color and bleaching on previously virgin hair, and still did not receive anything close to what I originally asked for. If you have naturally dark virgin hair and are looking to go lighter, based on my experience, I would definitely not recommend this place.

I am so beyond happy with my hair. I have 3B curly hair, and while there are great stylists in the Bay Area, Jessica is the first person I've personally found who truly understands my curls, my shape, and how color works with my natural texture. From the very first appointment, I felt completely confident in her hands. This visit she did my balayage, a curly cut, and a treatment - and the results are absolutely beautiful. My curls are bouncy, defined, healthy, and the color is so soft and natural with gorgeous dimension. The shape is perfect, and my hair feels better than it has in a long time. On top of the amazing hair, the studio experience itself is such a vibe. They had warm apple cider, wine, champagne, cookies, and little snacks, which made the whole visit feel so elevated and cozy. Someone (I think the owner!) even brought me another warm apple cider without me asking - it was such a thoughtful touch. Everyone in the salon is genuinely kind and welcoming, and you really feel taken care of from start to finish. Jessica is not only extremely talented, but also kind, patient, and very detail-oriented. She takes her time, explains what she's doing, and genuinely cares about the final result. You can feel how passionate she is about her craft. If you have curly hair and are looking for someone who truly knows how to work with it, I highly recommend booking with Jessica. I leave her chair happy every single time, and this was my best visit yet. Thank you so much, Jessica!

My recent cut with her took an unexpected turn. I noticed it looked different from the photos and…read moresignificantly shorter so I got nervous, I was calm but I did express my thoughts... "It's shorter than the photos and I don't feel very good about it." She decided to stop and told me she wasn't comfortable cutting my hair anymore, since "you're clearly uncomfortable," and "the trust has been broken," Which I mean, I was... She suddenly offered to refer me out and said she'd reach out in a couple of days, and didn't charge me, but not paying hadn't even occurred to me... she rushed me out so she could do her "cleansing ritual" for the "negative energy" or something since she had 7 more clients after me... which she kept saying over and over. I asked if we could dry it or add some product or do the finishing touches and she said no... so I just awkwardly left with very wet hair. I just moved here and was really looking forward to developing a long term relationship with a stylist. I think gender affirming hair can take some trial and error and working with a stylist over time can help find "the" haircut. Feedback after each cut, taking in the knowledge from the stylist/learning from them, coming back every few months, etc. it's a journey. I was nervous and dissatisfied, but breathing and calm since I know this. The cut itself is fine, it's not exactly what I asked for but I mean... her skills at cutting hair are evident. My first haircut with her was a 10/10... To me it was more the reaction and shock and being rushed out and now I have a much shorter haircut (that I didn't ask for) that could use some touch ups, and that I don't know how to style, since normally I air dry my hair with some basic product which we talked about. The plan was that I would still be able to put it up and now I have basically a pixie... it's been a very upsetting and confusing experience... and it's hair and it'll grow out and I think it'll look more like my reference photos in a few months and with some small adjustments... I just wish she had responded differently and we could have continued working together. I'm not angry or posting this to be a "Karen," just thought it would be appropriate to share since this has really hurt me and been an emotional roller coaster, I felt a lot of distress that day and am still feeling distress and anxiety over the experience. Other stylists have confirmed that my concerns were logical, that the cut is in the same family but missed the mark and is definitely significantly shorter... and that the response was odd, we could have talked about ways to style it, product, addressed my concerns, made a plan for next time, anything...
