I actually LIKE this paper and I will continue to buy it on Sundays, but at my local 7-11 rather…read morethan home delivery. As other Yelpers have reported, it is SO hard to cancel a subscription once they have your credit card! There is no way to cancel on-line or during the weekend. You have to call M-F during business hours, which I did, from work. 5 minutes I spent telling the lady "I need to cancel my subscription. No more. End this subscription. Do not charge my credit card." She kept stating the same script, "You are are valued subscriber..." and trying to convince me to keep subscribing. Offering deals. Something about a charity. I forget since I just kept saying, "I'm at work, I don't have time!! Please just tell me that you will cancel my subscription and won't charge my credit card!!" Finally she agreed and confirmed she would end my subscription. That said, I do appreciate the Tribune's in-depth coverage, local articles, photography, spirts, crossword puzzle, and Sunday coupons. So I would have given the Trib 4 stars if they weren't so aggressive with the subscription bit.

This newspaper completely sucks! We had problems with stupid price hikes, and bad delivery. Also,…read morethe customer service really sucks! The people they use from overseas are awful. I've seen prior reviews and I agree completely on how horrible they are. We cancelled our subscription and they send us a bill for surcharges and we canceled before the end of the billing cycle ! Don't get a subscription with this paper!

I run a small business with my wife and this could be the worst consumer experience I have ever…read morehad. I used to go to Idea Media and found out this place bought them out. They were pleasant. Inner Workings... Not so much. I went in to get some DVD's burned. I expressed I needed them before a certain day because they needed to be mailed. Sales guy told me it was totally doable. So we get close to the deadline and I write him he tells me my order us delayed because the production facility in St. Charles or Iowa (it doesn't matter... Jesus lost his gym shoes out there) lost power and my order isn't most likely going to make it by deadline. Why do I have to contact him to find this out? What ever happend to proactive customer service? Anyway I tell the guy I am not happy and he has them pushed through as a rush order. He tells me they will be delivered but its going to be a Saturday delivery. This makes me happy. But I expressed I am not paying Saturday rates as this is their mess up. He agreed and then asked for an address and assured me I'd have my disks that Saturday... Well Saturday comes... Nothing. Same with Sunday and then Monday. They were never delivered. Tuesday I finally get the Dvds... And then Thursday I get the bill. I was charged as much shipping as the actual order! Now I'm pissed. I write the guy and he tells me he doesn't know what happend and he will look into it. Time goes by and nothing I have to reach out and express I would like my shipping cost refunded. He tells me it takes UPS or Fed-Ex a month for disputed orders... Come on, just write me a check here... This isn't a court appeal... You messed up. So I write him after a month and ask... No initial response. I feel like they don't check emails at this place or they are crazy understaffed. He finally writes back and says he hasn't heard... Aka he was praying I was going to go away. So I give it some time and write again... Saying he's being unprofessional and this is so one-sided. He tells me he'd look into it again. Two days later I get a message sayin he has $50 cash and asks me how I want to get it. Get it? Either you are writing me a check or hand delivering it to my work! I am not going to spend money to go pick up my own money... A month goes by and still no money. He has canceled the drop off or delivery of the money twice. Saying he was sick and then he had something come up. I finally told him to mail the money.... Well see how fast I get this cash... I bet this sales guy is taking it out of his own checking and hoping I go away....NOPE! This place while they do good work is a customer service NIGHTMARE! I will never use them again.

Hello, They…read morecontacted us at very convenient time when we needed a service to print company catalog. It was the worst experience ever, because: 1. The whole process took 3.5 months to get the catalog (the promise was around 1 month). 2. Responses sometimes took weeks. 3. We agreed on hard-copy proof, but all we got was separate pages with note, that colors may be different after they print all catalog (even thou we paid $50 for hard-copy proof just to see how the catalog is going to look). 4. The company did not warn us about additional fees. 5. To make changes for 3 pages, I was charged extra $376 (like for whole catalog). 6. Total extra charges occur of almost $900 for making some changes not on design of catalog, but for changing the text. 7. They did not agree to waive all extra charges we were not aware of (we still had to pay). We were cheated, overcharged and the whole experience is just simply opposite to satisfaction. I will never recommend to use this company for any service. Do not get caught on lower prices!

Dat's entertainment. Dat's entertainment. Dahlings…read more Chicago Social, n/k/a CS, is a glitzy, glossy, free magazine which is distributed to condo buildings and news boxes in certain areas downtown and on the north side. Since CS is free, anyone and everyone from the unwashed masses to the landed gentry who bathe in C-Notes can pick up a copy and get up to speed on local dining, parties, shopping, clothing, interior design and who's who in the local social scene (read: benefit attendees). Since CS is glossy, you can sit in your Gold Coast condo and spill your champagne on it or in your Rogers Park hovel and spill Diet RC on it and still be no worse for the wear, as the spillage will run right off, and you can continue perusing high culture. Dahling, isn't that fah-bulous? Ooh-kay, gurl? Basically, what CS is is a bunch of advertising and rah-rah PR that caters to those with substantial disposable income, those who clamor to one day have substantial disposable income and the pretentious who fall somewhere in the middle. Holla. It's about restaurants, shopping, clothing, jewelry, real estate, interior design and parties. It's to be taken more as entertainment than as informational, and it's always to be taken with a grain of salt. No publication with opinions written in the pretentious first person plural (e.g., "We felt the decor, ambiance and sushi were simply fabulous") is to be taken seriously on general principle. Probably the best part of CS is the section with the party photos. It's always interesting to see where the who's who and celebs are partying, with whom and whether or not they're hot. One must know every month where Bill Kurtis and Donna LaPietra are partying, or one may not be able to go out on the social scene for fear of embarrassment when discourse convenes over cocktails. Whether you're dirt poor or filthy rich, we recommend picking up a copy of CS monthly. It's an amazing way to plug into local society and get up to speed on everything that's fabulous locally. We'll see you on Michigan Avenue, dah-lings. Five stars.

The glossy covers and high end advertisements are only the beginning. The magazine has a true and honest connection to the city often featuring our own on the cover and in the pages. Located in boxes all around the city, the closest to me is at N Cannon and Fullerton, located next to a bus stop. Hey even the high society of Chicago Social appreciates public transportation.
