Super cute Halloween fabric at Wyldwood Creative in Renton, Washington - July 2025
    Krista M.

I've followed Wyldwood Creative on Instagram for quite a while so when I was planning another trip to Seattle, I made it a mission to finally visit the stop which is located in a charming part of Renton that feels like it's in the midst of revitalization, with other small businesses and cafés nearby. The shop itself is a decent size and well-curated, but I'll admit I was a little underwhelmed by the fabric selection - especially Ruby Star Society, which I was most excited about after seeing so much of it featured on their Instagram. Still, they had cute notions, project kits, plenty of patterns and hardware, and a fun, creative vibe that made browsing enjoyable. Fat quarters were priced a bit high for me (a "buy three, get one free" promo would have been amazing), but I still left with a half yard of fabric and a couple of fat quarters because, well, when in Rome err, a fabric shop - am I right!? I really wish I was local so I could attend some of their sewing and crafting classes which look like such a great way to build community while learning new skills! I would definitely recommend a stop if you're in the area and love small, independent craft stores like I do!

Such a cute and welcoming space! I took a beginner sewing class here and would love to go back for more classes. They offer a sliding scale to pay for the classes so they are affordable. It was a small group of 4 people. The teacher went through everything step by step and we had plenty of time to create the tote we were working on. They had so many fabrics to choose from. Would definitely recommend!

Just took a sewing class with Steph and it was so much fun. I have very little experience with sewing so it's a great beginner class. I made a gorgeous flat-bottomed tote bag and Steph was so patient, informative and kind. There were only 4 students and she gave each of us special attention and help throughout our time. I felt so good leaving the shop that I was on cloud 9. It was like an adrenaline rush when you get a great haircut or score a deal. Honestly, better than therapy! Can wait to book another class

I had a great time with the gift bag sewing class! They staffs were very patient in teaching me while I was making so much mistakes since I have no experience with sewing at all! I'm so happy with my first sewing project and will come back again for more classes!

Cute modern shop with fun bits and bobs for sewing crafting such as gorgeous fabric, sewing supplies, and featured artists. Very excited to have this shop among the other small businesses in downtown Renton! It's definitely unique, and offers classes in a variety of craft topics.

    How beautiful is this?!

Visiting the Seattle area and always looking for local quilting shops. Super happy to have found this shop! Very friendly and helpful staff. Well laid-out displays. And collections I haven't seen locally by me, which is what I always like to see

I was immediately impressed upon entering the store. It felt as though I had crossed the other side of the wardrobe and ended up in Knitting Narnia. Shelves of beautiful fabrics, yarns, and so many more items you didn't know you needed, but now that you've seen them you just gots to have them. There are tables and chairs nestled about for groups to hang out and knit while enjoying a coffee or snack from the Firebird Cafe located in the back of the shop. The cafe has a lot of selection of sweet and savory snackums including gluten free items; however, when I asked about contamination risk for celiac peeps they weren't sure how safe it was, so I stuck to the hot chocolate which was hot..and chocolaty..and full of goodness. May I also note that they serve wine and I am just so on board with that. Wine, knitting, and someone brought their cat in on leash... I see no reason to ever leave this place. This shop offers tons of events like the one I participated in this weekend where they invite local artists to set up inside their store and peddle their wares. The excitement from their regulars the moment the doors opened was palpable. They were just all about getting their paws on the fun, beautiful, and handy items for sale. In addition to events like these, this shop stays super involved with their locals by hosting classes that range well beyond knitting and crocheting. Every individual I interacted with here brought their best energy and enthusiasm and were so upbeat I started wondering what the secret these knitters are putting in their herbal tea... and if they'd share some with me. If you're a crafty fellow definitely check this place out. You might just walk out with the find of a lifetime, some magical knitter's tea, or even get to pet a cat on a leash...the possibilities are endless.

One critique is that their bottomweight and coating section was fairly limited, but I'm assuming that they were slowly transitioning into Spring/Summer choices at that time. Everything felt high quality and intentionally selected, not at all like the big box stores. Pricing was on-par with most independent stores - not cheap, but worth it. Somehow, I had never heard of Seattle ReCreative, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it! The store doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's much bigger than it looks. The front rooms have sewing supplies, knitting/crochet needles, fabric and notions, plus modeling clay, jewelry and beading stuff. As you go further back, there's a room with office supplies, a section of cards and stationery and paper ephemera. The biggest area is in the back, though, where the main warehouse is. That's where you'll find gift bags and tissue, floral supplies, wicker baskets and tins, paint, and tons more random stuff. The other side of the warehouse is a crafting area that looks like it can be rented out - they said they had had a bunch of kids in earlier for a field trip. You definitely have to sift through the piles of stuff to find what you're looking for, but the prices are very reasonable. I love that it's reducing waste and encouraging creative reuse - anyone with hobbies knows how expensive it can be to get started with supplies, and this is a good way to try things out inexpensively. (Or get rid of the evidence of an abandoned hobby.) Their hours are a bit limited, but similar to other small crafting/hobby supply shops. Overall, if you're willing to roll up your sleeves and hunt, there's lots of treasure to be found!

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service for the draperies. The first time the installer came out, it quickly became evident that the draperies for two of the three rooms had been made 4 inches too short, and the roman shade had been made too wide to fit in the space (this is after they had been professionally measured by the installer). They were sent back and lengthened but one of the draperies was still an inch too short, and the roman shade had not been cut down, so these went back a second time to be redone - this was in October 2025. Since that time I was notified that the new drapery was in, but the roman shade is still not fixed and they don't have an ETA. I just called again to check status and the person I talked to was already so upset apparently by someone else's problems and frustration that as soon as I told her I was frustrated she started to cry because it isn't her fault.
