I bet place isn't any bigger than 700 square feet, and it is completely packed with every single kind of hardware or tool that you would need. This place goes from selling rooftop flanges to pressure washers to Phillips bits for your battery drill. My grandparents used to take me to places like this when they shopped when I was a kid, long before the big box chain days. It was very comforting to shop here, it took me back to my childhood. I'm guessing the two employees that work here know where every single nook and cranny for a item is in this place. With all of the gentrification going on in Willoughby Spit I hope this place survives for a long time, and can benefit from all the new construction going on around here.

Each time my wife and I have visited there have been same two friendly, talkative employees present. We've been there several times to have house keys duplicated and once we tried to find a tall step ladder, not finding the ladder we wanted, they were kind enough to recommend a much larger hardware store some distance away. The prices of the products seem reasonable. The building is easily accessible and there is parking in the front. It's a nice neighborhood business.

Because I left my house without my lock and stopped at 3 different stores before coming here. Not only do they have what you need but they are so friendly. It feels like a locally owned shop. They have ice water bottles at the door for $1. You can't get that anywhere else. They helped us with our lock so we could use it immediately. They have bikes out front for purchase and also make keys. Bike accessories and everything else you need. And they are not expensive either. I will be back to support this neighborhood store with the friendly employees. :)

We needed ice the other day for a BBQ and stopped in for a large, cheap bag of ice for like $2! Much better price and size than 7-eleven right across the street. They have some nice bikes and all the little odds and ends you might need from a hardware store. I think this might be our first stop for those items from now on!

For the small projects and quick repairs, Taylor's is a godsend, they have a little bit of everything....including popcorn at the door as you enter :) For the most part, the staff is very helpful and willing to spend some time with you to help find what you need...although if you have to return or exchange something, it's a bit of an ordeal. It involves filling out a form (name, address, phone), calling management to the register, yada,yada. Really a bit over the top for something as minimal as exchanging a $1.25 piece of pvc . I didn't so much mind it, but I hated that it was holding up the growing line of customers waiting to check out so they could get back home to their respective projects. (Just noticed the $1 section, up by the locksmith/glass cutting/rescreening department....)

If it wasn't such a drive, I would go to Lowe's. If I'm going to have to search for something I might as well pay less for it. This is why people shop online. Brick and mortar businesses need to wake up. At this point you're nothing more than convenience stores for whatever items you sell. Customer service and location are the last things you have going for you. This is sad for me to write because I grew up in a family hardware store where the expectation was to greet your customers, always help customers find what they need, and ensure that they have a good experience while in your business.

They're scattered between a toolbox that's been outgrown for several years and various other containers, boxes, bags, etc. My mission, to find a compartmentalized toolbox and small storage drawer case. This was my first time in the Janaf Shopping Center location. As I recall this is the building that Circuit City built just before they went out of business, so I have to say this was a great "get" for Northern Tool moving into a practically brand new building when they did a few years back. The layout pretty easy, you come in, and then the story is basically a circular ring around the retail showroom with isles on either side of the ring. In short order I found the small storage drawer chest in the back left of the store. The toolbox was a little harder to find and I covered the whole store looking for them after finding various other options in a couple of different areas. Finally I found the toolboxes in the very center of the store on an end cap and also found exactly what I was looking for. A double layer storage box with removable modules. Just my luck while I was visiting Northern was having a storage sale. I received a nice discount on both the toolbox and storage drawer case. I think I spent about $15 maybe $20 bucks along with the $25 gift card I had. Most excellent. I found the place impeccably clean and the staff and service was first rate. I'll be coming here again for sure.

Do not put yourself in danger by renting a vehicle from HD. my rental broke down 5hrs from my home…read more HD promptly towed it but left me on the side of the road. the next 3hrs were spent calling the store & having nobody ever answer, finally getting through using the Pro Shop #, being referred to a 3rd party company who supposedly handles these things. 1st that company tried to sell me a medical alert device, then HD gave me a diff number & it was for that same company but it was their employee line w/no way to reach a live person. The HD lady, Morgana, from the 800 # was great, but didn't have the autonomy to help me herself. Bottom line, the left me stranded on the side of the road, no way to get somewhere safe, much less get back home. I got a full refund but is that enough for putting & leaving your customer in danger?

They said in shipping sometimes there is damage! Went back to Taylor's and reselected new logs, because of the defect it gave me the opportunity to reselect logs, spent 600.00 more to go with vent free. Although the first set had a defect, the were able to light manually. I felt there was less heat then I wanted. With all that said Norfolk Plumbing had to remove first set and replace second set! I understood there would be additional charge for this! I took receipt to Taylor's to ask to help with the 300.00 charge. Taylor's informs me they can give me 80.00, have not received! I called Taylor? Manager? Have not heard back! I want to support local businesses as I own Ghent Antiques. I am disappointed in this purchase of 1500,00 plus and the way it has been handled! The days of hometown customer service are gone! UPDATE, Taylor called today! That I do appreciate! He is looking into this and promises a larger refund. I will report back soon!!! He also said " I hope we have not loss you as a customer " I feel this issue has now been resolved! Taylor's continues to be my go to for all my local purchases. Fast and convenient.
