It was a great experience to do this together. Two hour time was perfect. Good instruction and great supplies. I love the colors and getting creative though this is not my wheelhouse, it was still a lot of fun. Classes are very affordable. The instruction was great and gave me some ideas to play with layering. I had a little problem with using a gift card but they were great in the office to get us signed up and squared away. We'll definitely be back!

The structure is great, you have your set times for class but your registration also comes with 26 independent studio hours and 25 lbs of clay so you can use during the semester to come in and work at your own pace. I spent many a Saturday here zoning out with my headphones and working on my pieces, which was really relaxing. They also have pretty much all the tools you'll need, a variety of glazes to use, and not only do you have access to all of it as a student they handle all the firing of your pieces as part of your registration. My instructor, Daria is wonderful. So encouraging and knowledgeable. I signed up for my second class with her because I liked being under her tutelage so much! Outside of ceramics there's also classes in jewelry making/metalsmithing, drawing, mixed media, textiles, and more for adults, youth, and teens. There are also special one off workshops and "date night" sessions so you can try your hand at something before committing to a full semester or just having a fun night to spend with a partner or a friend. Outside of the classes the Art Center is just a wonderful place to visit. The front gallery has so many beautiful pieces available for purchase and the rotating gallery shows showcase a number of wonderful local artists and their works. Classes fill up quickly but members are able to register a few days before the general public so to give myself an edge to get the class and time I wanted I signed up a few months ago. In addition to first dibs there are a lot of other great perks like invitations to special member only events, discounts during special annual sale, and, most importantly, the fuzzy good feeling you get for supporting such a wonderful and educational arts non-profit.

When I walked in, I saw some coasters and I immediately recognized the artist - it was from Polka Dot Mitten in Saugatuck (I had just been to that store and bought one a few weeks ago), which was fun. They're also doing a promotion with some Main Street restaurants right now, if you purchase something there and then show the slip of paper at the restaurant, you get $10 off your next meal there. And vice versa, if you go to the restaurant, and then show the slip of paper at the store, you get 20% off one item. I ended up getting a cute owl type figurine for my mom, it was about $10 which was reasonable. Cute store and I will stop by next time I'm in Ann Arbor.

I needed souvenirs to buy for my co-workers back home and I didn't want to just hit up the airport gift shop on my way out. I wanted to support local businesses who make vintage quality souvenir magnets - similar to what you'd find at the airport but not at the airport. I was with my friend on a brisk Friday evening and we stumbled upon this place. We had asked around for souvenir shops in the vicinity, but ended up here at Roeda Studios. They actually had what I wanted here and thankful that I didn't have to go all over Ann Arbor to get it. In hindsight, Detroit airport didn't have much anyway and I was glad that I came here for souvenirs. We entered around 6pm, exhausted after searching through 3 nearby shops. When the cashier told us they carried Michigan inspired souvenirs, I was happy and thankful that the search was over. Roeda Studios is one of those stores that carries an assortment of trinkets and cute household things that you can decorate your home or office with. There's plenty of Michigan inspired items along with some University of Michigan logo items too. The store itself is very organized and meticulously clean. Just glad that I didn't need to buy at the airport on my way out in Detroit. The overall experience here at Roeda Studios here in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan was quite nice and easy. I took about 30 minutes here browsing and shopping for those souvenir magnets that my coworkers love to have. I did enjoy the ambiance of this cute boutique store. Don't know if they had any public WiFi, but pretty sure they had central air conditioning. Roeda Studios is located at 319 S Main Street in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. They accept major credit cards and cash. Perfect for us out of towners, who are always on the go. We ended up parking at a parking garage that was about 2 blocks away. Kind of perfect though, especially with a low parking fee to park for 2 hours or so. Not sure about Ann Arbor's public transportation options, but best bet would be your own private car or rental. Or if you need it: uber or Lyft is at your service too. Roeda Studios has your Michigan inspired tourist souvenirs and ideas on how to spruce up your home decor or office space. Quite a nice little shop that I happen to stumble into. For the most part though, the experience here at Roeda Studios was quite uneventful and great that I didn't have to run around downtown Ann Arbor for Michigan inspired souvenirs. The service was friendly and quick. I'm glad my friend and I came here and, while prices here can be above average for touristy souvenirs, you can be sure that you do get a quality product here. My reference would be the $6 magnets you find at the typical airport kiosk to $10+ unique ones you find here at Roeda, if you were to find something special for Michigan. Not sure if they have central air conditioning or public WiFi though, but the shopping experience was quick enough to where I didn't notice one bit. I would definitely recommend coming here for your home decor or office space sprucing needs, as well as Michigan inspired souvenir magnets. If you're ever in downtown Ann Arbor, swing on by. They'll be glad to help you out with that you need. Come on by, they would love to see you. Happy with my purchase. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the service and selection. 3.0 stars for the prices. Support local! B

Now they've expanded in there and they've filled the space with even more beautifully curated goodies, new and "found." There's a bit of everything in here, perfect for finding a gift for a friend, family, or a partner, or a little goodie for yourself. They've got beautiful art prints from independent artists, handmade ceramics, plus stationery, a bangin' candle section, lovely housewares and textiles like throws, pillows, and tea towels, plus jewelry, the list goes on and on. Plus when you shop here you're really shopping small, because most of what they carry falls into that category. If you go to their website you can take a look at a list of the artists they carry in store, and I love recognizing names of friends and people I admire in their respective fields. It's a delight digging through all their offerings and I highly recommend you get there soon to do it yourself!

Then, after hitting up the 2nd floor, I spied plants and headed down the stairs. Loving that we found "Found." I walked out with a gift and a little something for myself, but definitely had to stop myself from getting more. Prices were pretty average, but they had some awesome sale stuff from the recent holiday. The Staff were around and being helpful. The lady told me a story about the art piece I purchased, which I appreciated. This store is probably my favorite stop from all of Kerrytown!

The owner was very helpful (I was there multiple times as kept going back for more things for my projects) - I was making pearl and leather necklaces as gifts and they had a very nice selection of the leather and some large drilled pearls- plus the owner showed me a better way to make the knots for my project so they look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself! They offer classes and had a nice selection of beads and findings, as well as examples of finished projects that are inspirational and aspirational- I will definitely be back! The owner was very distant, not helpful, friendly, or talkative. I assumed that it would change because I knew that I would become a regular customer. I even brought my son to support her business, who is autistic and loves making things using beads. We have spent a lot of money there. I had to come to the conclusion that I will never receive a warm reception from her. I have seen her smile and greet other customers differently. When I come in she says "hi", and immediately tends to whatever craft she's working on, doesn't show me around, make any suggestions, and responses to any of my questions are extremely short ("yes", "no", "over there"). I am not one to play the race card, but I honestly can't think of anything else that set me and my son apart from any other customer other than the color of our skin, especially since we have supported her business for so long. Sometimes she acts as if she doesn't know us at all. This review doesn't have to be anonymous, because the owner will undoubtedly know who I am. There is another review that confirms my suspicion by an Anonymous Lady on Google reviews that is 5 years old, so I know that I'm not crazy. It's sad.
