We drove up from Riverside to spend the day at Lake Arrowhead Village and enjoy Oktoberfest. We asked a local where we should eat and ended up giving Lakefront Tap Room a try. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. First, I want to make something VERY clear: our waitress, Sam, was fantastic. She was extremely nice, friendly, attentive, and treated my family great. My one star has absolutely nothing to do with her. If I were rating Sam, she'd get five stars. The FOOD, however, was horrible. My fish and chips were probably the only halfway decent thing at the table. I also ordered two margaritas. They were extremely small and, for what you're paying, nothing special whatsoever. But my daughter's cheeseburger was what really did it for me. My daughter is 15, blind, and an extremely picky eater, so we intentionally order her food as simple as possible: bun, meat, cheese, and Thousand Island. That's it. We're talking about a basic cheeseburger. What came out looked terrible. The bun was extremely dry and there was hardly any Thousand Island on it. I asked another waiter for a side of Thousand Island, and he brought me a little cup of some watery brownish-orange liquid. I honestly don't know what it was supposed to be. It had the consistency of water and looked nothing like any Thousand Island dressing I've ever seen. My daughter took ONE tiny bite of her burger and immediately wanted nothing more to do with it. I don't blame her. We pushed the basically untouched burger to the edge of the table and told our waitress we didn't want it. Then we were told they'd take about TWO DOLLARS off the bill because she didn't like her $20+ burger. Seriously? My wife's patty melt wasn't any better. It was overcooked, the bread was extremely hard, and overall it was just bad. For the prices this restaurant charges, the quality of the food was completely unacceptable. Being in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Arrowhead doesn't make up for serving terrible food at tourist prices. Again, Sam was awesome. I actually feel bad leaving one star because she did such a good job, but I'm reviewing the restaurant and the food we paid for, not just our waitress. We will absolutely NEVER eat here again. The tajin rim is wack and they use cheap chamoy to coat it.. $1.50 for a sprinkle rim of tajin, just bring your own. The outside tap drinks don't have the same selection as the ones inside. Bartenders are nice but really work for a tip by asking a lot of questions. I get being friendly and relationship building but sometimes it's just awkward and puts you in a weird situation feeling forced to tip on the screen. And if you don't tip after they serve your drink and you say thank you they just walk away no "your welcome" or "enjoy", not that it's needed but hey customer service is nice. The vibes are nice inside and outside. There are some good food vendors and some not so good. They are kid and pet friendly.
