She likes Guinness draft there and I had Sour Monkey Triple draft. The poutine was good and it was the first time my wife had tried it--she loved it. I thought there could have been a little bit more of the cheese curd, it was fried, but I know every place makes theirs a little different. The atmosphere is great; it reminds you of a cabin on the inside and of course you're in Wrightwood CA so it's a perfect mountain hangout. The tables are clean, the area swept up and a very inviting indoor environment as outdoor environment. This is a rustic environment, so don't expect four-star accommodation. Again, as I said, it is perfect for this area, and I would expect nothing less. The service was great, we had two or three different servers, and they were always polite, knew their menu well, and offered upgrades. Had a great conversation with this server and he had been coming up there for years himself before working there. His daughter and wife were outside, and he would periodically chat with them which made us feel like it was a great family environment. The menu is varied and they have some excellent hamburgers; I have had the patty melt in the past. There is something about being 5000 feet above sea level, having a cold drink, and hot food; it's amazing. We drove up from Riverside to spend the day at Lake Arrowhead Village and enjoy Oktoberfest. We asked a local where we should eat and ended up giving Lakefront Tap Room a try. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. First, I want to make something VERY clear: our waitress, Sam, was fantastic. She was extremely nice, friendly, attentive, and treated my family great. My one star has absolutely nothing to do with her. If I were rating Sam, she'd get five stars. The FOOD, however, was horrible. My fish and chips were probably the only halfway decent thing at the table. I also ordered two margaritas. They were extremely small and, for what you're paying, nothing special whatsoever. But my daughter's cheeseburger was what really did it for me. My daughter is 15, blind, and an extremely picky eater, so we intentionally order her food as simple as possible: bun, meat, cheese, and Thousand Island. That's it. We're talking about a basic cheeseburger. What came out looked terrible. The bun was extremely dry and there was hardly any Thousand Island on it. I asked another waiter for a side of Thousand Island, and he brought me a little cup of some watery brownish-orange liquid. I honestly don't know what it was supposed to be. It had the consistency of water and looked nothing like any Thousand Island dressing I've ever seen. My daughter took ONE tiny bite of her burger and immediately wanted nothing more to do with it. I don't blame her. We pushed the basically untouched burger to the edge of the table and told our waitress we didn't want it. Then we were told they'd take about TWO DOLLARS off the bill because she didn't like her $20+ burger. Seriously? My wife's patty melt wasn't any better. It was overcooked, the bread was extremely hard, and overall it was just bad. For the prices this restaurant charges, the quality of the food was completely unacceptable. Being in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Arrowhead doesn't make up for serving terrible food at tourist prices. Again, Sam was awesome. I actually feel bad leaving one star because she did such a good job, but I'm reviewing the restaurant and the food we paid for, not just our waitress. We will absolutely NEVER eat here again. There are plenty of other places to spend your money at Lake Arrowhead Village. I strongly suggest choosing one of them.

I get being friendly and relationship building but sometimes it's just awkward and puts you in a weird situation feeling forced to tip on the screen. And if you don't tip after they serve your drink and you say thank you they just walk away no "your welcome" or "enjoy", not that it's needed but hey customer service is nice.
