After skiing in MT High, my car wouldn't start. I had to tow my car to this place since it was the closest. I told him that i saw smoke coming from the starter motor and they told me they can try something to let it start just once so i can take my car to any shop i like. They told me that it is $41 for this. Since i live about 2 hours away from this shop, i ask him to give it a try. What they did was hammering the starter motor while starting the car. Didn't work. I had to leave the car overnight since they didn't have the parts. I had to take Uber going home and coming back the next day. Right before paying, i review the bill and noticed that $41 was in there. I was my bad that i didn't check the bill carefully when i left the car the other day so i asked them if they could removed this $41 since it didn't work. They rejected. I understand they may change it if i didn't let them replace the starter motor. And if i knew what they were going to try, i wouldn't let them. ( hammering starter motor wouldn't work since the coils were all burnt ) They told me they had to pull one of their mechanic from whatever he was doing in order to work on my car. I should've asked them if they took $41 out of the service fee he was working on. It didn't take more than 5 mins for this service. I cannot imagine they charge for the fee that didn't work even if I let them replace the motor. read more
