I've taken my vehicles to ricks a few times. None more critical than this time Our Honda was jerking violently when we hit the brakes. We are a single income family and at times money gets tight. But I trusted Bobs judgment on what needed to be done and told him to proceed with the 1200$ repair A few hours later we received a call with good news While proceeding with the agreed upon repair The mechanics noticed some missing bolts and loose bolts on a part in the power steering system. Replaced them tightened the others and test drove it finding out that that fixed the problem. They could have chose to do the job as agreed upon Or not and still have charged me full price. But they did the honest thing and told us and had us pick up the car with only the original charges Plus the bolts If I ever have anything wrong with any vehicle from this day forward I will take it to Ricks auto! Rick did a great job on my car. He gave me an estimate for $525 to fix my car and actually only charged me $500 in the end. He did it in the timeframe he promised and he did exactly what he said he would do. Unlike other mechanics that mysteriously find other things wrong with your car this doesn't happen with Ricks. Anything else I need done on my car I know where to bring it Phelan. Ricks! Great job! Update as of 1/16 2019 I took my Honda in to have my rear brakes fixed by Rick. I was quoted in Hesperia an outrages price of over $525.00 to have the work done and once again Rick came through for me and did it for less than half that cost! I dropped off my 06 Mitsubishi Raider pickup to investigate a continuous ticking sound under the hood. It sounded like tappets to me and had been that way for 2 years. Two years ago while having a smog check the mechanic said that was normal for these vehicles. I trusted him but the ticking kept getting louder each month. Finally, fearing for a big engine repair if I don't investigate I took it to Rick's. I priced tappets and the first day Rick said they were going to pull the valve cover. Later he called and explained it was not tappets but rather my exhaust manifold gasket or a warped manifold. The next day he confirmed it was both. I authorized a replacement manifold with came with a new gasket. A couple hours later before closing time I could pick up my truck. My truck sings like the first day I bought it now and I was only out of my truck for a little over one day. I call that professionalism and mechanical expertise. Thank you mechanic Bob. I don't require auto repair very often but when I do I certainly know where to head to. When I went to pay Rick he showed me my old manifold. It rocked like a baby on his counter. The one end was about 1/8" higher than the other end. WOW! I think I just saved me a bunch of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. read more

After finally experiencing the rare feeling of dealing with an repair shop that had just treated me with a level of honesty and fairness that I had always hoped to receive--but rarely seemed to get--I felt the strong need to give this place some well-deserved credit on one of these consumer review websites. It had suddenly occurred to me that the replacement of the timing belt in my Kia was so long overdue that I was seriously driving the car on borrowed miles. I was made aware of this at the same time I learned that the engine could easily be destroyed if this particular belt should ever break. I knew I had to get this thing done right away and found myself in a position to seek the help of this auto repair shop. Before an estimate for this work was requested from the shop, I called the dealer on my cell phone to see what they charged for the same service, as I had no clue as to what this was about to cost me at the time. Armed with a quote from the dealer, I then spoke with "Bob" at Rick's Auto and asked him to give me an estimate for the job. For once, I was very pleasantly surprised to receive an estimate from a repair shop that was MUCH lower than what the dealer would've charged for the same service. They replaced the timing belt without trying to sell me any other services.
