I needed some furniture removed and disposed of. I reached out to many hauling services in San Jose and Le'andre gave me the best quote. Some other businesses asked to come see the furniture first (extra hassle) but Le'andre simply provided a quote via yelp. No unnecessary questions asked. So easy! The booking process was effortless. He was flexible with scheduling. He was super fast to respond and was friendly and professional. Great reviews, impressive website-- overall great first impression. Le'andre called before he was on his way and arrived on time. He also inquired about how he could make me feel safe in regards to COVID-19 (wearing masks and gloves). One large desk was in an extremely tight space. He was able to carefully move some other heavy furniture around to remove the desk. Then he returned everything else to their original place. Amazing. We also had a huge, solid, hardwood computer hutch. It's a million pounds (even when it's completely empty) and all glued together and impossible to take apart. The picture doesn't do it justice. They don't make furniture like that these days! He somehow got the whole thing outside and broke it down himself. That takes some major muscle and equipment. Dre turned out to be completely unreliable. After making multiple commitments, and insuring clarity; I get a text saying - hey sorry, can't make the job tomorrow morning. This is of course after making the commitment days in advance and we cancelled all other options. I have no clue as to who is giving Dre anything more than 1 star as we basically needed to hold his hand and cross our fingers that he would show up. I actually liked him at first and thought his drama was related to youthful exuberance; but now he has let us down for the last time. The first time he showed up with a broken down truck half filled with dirt ... um, ok I guess we thought, but were way to deep into it by then also. Basically, Dre is not running a business, he is a hustler with a pickup truck. One reason he is requested is due to the deep discount that is provided due to zero liability, lack of insurance and un inability to make and complete commitments. The nicest person showed up at our home to move a bunch of stuff we pulled out of the garage. A quote was provided over the phone with a coupe of photos. I had booked Wright & Davis for a Monday morning pickup, specifically requesting that a sofa be carried from our condo, and down multiple short flights of stairs. They ended up flaking last minute. They called us Monday morning and said they didn't realize they double booked. They ended up rescheduling to Tuesday, and then called us on Tuesday saying they didn't know if they could make it. We were in a difficult situation as we had a new sofa arriving soon. They ended up sending one man over, but he was not able to carry the sofa out by himself. My husband had to help him carry the sofa out to their truck -- and they still charged us! Granted they gave us a $10 discount. This was particularly disappointing since there were other companies we contacted the prior week who were available that day. We booked Wright & Davis since they were the first to respond.
