The buffet menu changes regularly and Shatangi found many items to please the palate. There are hot dogs and the like for the kids, roast brisket and cabbage for the adults. An assort met of breads, meat selections and salads as well as veggies and desserts. VERY casual dining. Shatangi told you

All they had was pasta and dry "sweet and sour" chicken

I do not see what everyone likes about this place! I was horrified by it! This is one of the worst places I have ever eaten! Okay, enough with the exclamation points!!! So, we went here for lunch and first of all let me say... there were tour buses everywhere and this places was packed! I personally did not wanna deal with all those people but it was one of the few places to eat in this tiny 'town'... and nothing for miles and miles so we stayed. Aside from the salad bar, all they had was a small buffet with 3 items! We assumed they would have steak... after all it is called Wrangler STEAKhouse. The staff was rude. The food was horrible. They had 2 kinds of pasta and some weird 'sweet and sour' type chicken chunks. The place was dark and very loud from all the tourists. The price was ridiculous! It was around $60 for 3 people for lunch and that may have been okay if they had more food but NOT for their tiny options. I will never go to this place again. I'd rather walk across the desert to eat at a Del Taco (*shudders*), then eat here again! Sorry Wrangler... but YOU SUCK. Just sayin'.

Rode my bike from Furnace Creek to Bad-water and back with a side trip along the artists drive. 42 miles and over 2000' elevation gain. I'm only telling you because that totally justified coming here and only having desert. Had molten chocolate cake with ice cream. It so hot the spot. Also had some of the cheesecake which was equally decadent. While I'm stuffed now, I'm content that I could eat the deserts and not feel too guilty.

Sweet and sour pork with brisket and rice. So good.

I thought this place was gonna be horrible but man the buffet at lunch was so good!!! Excellent sweet and sour pork, succulent brisket, salad bar, dessert table. It blew my mind that's why it got a 5. I hope this wasn't just a fluke day when everything at that restaurant went right.

I think this is supposed to be Salisbury steak

Ate here while staying at the Furnace Creek Inn. There was a $25 buffet for dinner. It was the WORST buffet we've ever had. It was so bad we were beyond mad - we were roaring with laughter! You have to see the attached pictures to believe it. My advice: ask to see the buffet before eating there.

"Meat and cheese plate" with deli meat and mustard? Huh????

We came here on an unusual rainy afternoon in January. We hadn't made a reservation (the rain…read morealtered our plans), so we got there when they opened to make sure we got a seat, and we were seated promptly. The service was excellent - our server was very friendly and personable, chatting with us and making recommendations when asked. Everything arrived promptly and as requested. (For instance, I ordered a cocktail with our appetizer and also asked for a glass of wine to be brought with the steak, and the timing was perfect - not always the case when you ask for something to come 20 minutes later.) The food is basic "steakhouse" food - no bells and whistles, and nothing to make it unique, but the steak was delicious, and the sides were perfectly fine. It certainly hit the spot after a day of hiking and exploring. It's expensive, as one would expect in a remote location like this. In normal circumstances, the value wouldn't be there to make it worth visiting... but in the middle of Death Valley, I'll take it! I would go back if I was staying the night again for sure.

I had the roasted chicken, which was quite tasty, particularly the sauce it came in. However I was pretty disappointed in the portion size, particularly given the prices are pretty steep. The size of "veggies and potatoes" was 3 small cuts of a potato and 2 similarly sized cuts of a carrot. The chicken portion was essentially just a leg. The entire area has a bit of a theme park feel to it with pricing, but this felt pretty egregious for $29. Our entire group had a similar takeaway, though some others didn't find theirs as tasty as mine was. I'd pretty strongly recommend against coming here, the sports bar nearby is a far better bang for your buck with probably slightly better quality of food

But when you're trapped, and you…read moredon't realize there's a reason the overpriced grocery store is so busy, you go to this restaurant, order what you hope will be a decent steak, and then bite into meat that was probably frozen and defrosted several times, is shaped like a rib, and is slathered with too-sweet, tomato-heavy barbecue sauce. The chili side is no better. You're starving but leave the dish half-eaten. And when the waitress comes offering dessert, you pass, go to your room, and the next day buy a microwaveable burrito that tastes so much better. Why is it so bad? Well, it's the middle of nowhere, so staffing and ingredients are hard to come by. Eat the burrito; yes, it's pricy, but at least it's a rip-off that's edible.

I do not recommend. We visited last night, 4/1/22. And no - this is no April Fool's joke. It was just plain and underwhelming.

Steaks and beer off a dusty road…read more What a surprise to eat this well in tiny, quiet, Tecopa. The menu is small but thoughtful with great cuts of meat, a few appetizers, soup, salad, pasta, beer, and wine. After a long day of hiking, a glass of wine was exactly what we needed. We started with a luxuriously creamy, well-seasoned potato soup and an orchard salad bursting with blueberries, apples, strawberries, pomegranate seeds, cheese, and a bright balsamic vinaigrette. Then we split a juicy filet mignon, the kind where your knife simply glides through. Even the veggie medley and mashed potatoes were perfection. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert. The warm date bread with vanilla ice cream and date syrup is one of the best desserts I've ever had. A couple notes: look for the neon lights out front because it's incredibly dark and easy to miss the turn. The dining room is romantic but tiny, maybe five tables, so call ahead for a reservation. An immense thank you to the chef and owner for creating such a memorable meal in the middle of nowhere. Unexpected and oh so delicious.

Whitney. We had looked at the menu online and had an idea of what we wanted in advance, nope. Out of: the elk, all lamb, trout, and the filets- we ended up with two orders of top sirloin. I had mine with the mushrooms and my husband had his with the green peppercorn sauce- I guess you can still have the sauces even though the meat is gone. The steaks were ok, I definitely did not get what I wanted and probably wouldn't have stayed if I had known just how bad it would be. I did see others walk out, and people that ordered after me were not happy. There's a really easy way to fix this- daily paper menus with what you actually have. Maybe even update them as things run out. Just cross stuff out. Let the guests know up front. If I had known how limited it was, I wouldn't have ordered a drink and eaten the tasty bread roll. Service wasn't that great either- the person that brought the drinks was very friendly, but otherwise our waiter was pretty inattentive. I had the Bees Knees which I enjoyed, I ordered a glass of red to go with the steak, and that didn't show up till I was well into my meal. Weirdly, I would give this place another shot, but would order before even sitting down. That way when I am told that all I can get is a steak that I'm not that interested in, I'll go somewhere else. Or eat at the bar, have a decent drink and leave when you see how dire the menu selection is.

It's nice that there is a restaurant in town with fresh fish. Our server was awesome. We were going to a tiki themed place (which you should 100% try to find if you are in town) afterwards and the server shared some cool info about it when we mentioned it. I ordered fish and chips, against my better judgement, and it was just OK. I'm a fan of beer batter that builds up more than a thin crust on the fish, and this wasn't that. On top of that, the cod was a little over cooked (a bit of a theme for the other Ale's as well). That said, the flavor profile was good and their tartar sauce was on point. I had the option for seasoned fries or steak fries and opted for the steak fries to save some sodium intake. I'd probably shorten my life slightly and get the seasoned fries next time. My wife had a salad that was very similar to the other Ale's -- lots of iceberg lettuce and overcooked chicken. We also had the clam chowder, which had a good consistency but was just a touch fishy. I still enjoyed it, though. They have a pretty good selection of beer and other drinks, as well. The decor is informal and overall I liked the place. Between the two Ale's I'd probably give a slight nod to the original, but they are very similar restaurants other than the focus on seafood here.
