Fast service- we got our food in 10 mins. Friendly staff, checked on us several times. Good food, flavorful and big portions!

Such a great spot for local, hearty fare and to meet friendly locals. The coffee ($2.75/each) was your usual diner brew but was served fresh. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak (tender beef fritter smothered with country gravy, eggs cooked your way, hash browns and choice of toast, $12.99). I had heard there is nowhere that serves the iconic meal like a Wyoming diner so I had to try it. I'll admit, it was pretty great compared to other Chicken Fried Steaks I'd had! They went heavy on the creamy, hot gravy and the steak was juicy and tender. Hash browns were cooked to perfection! My husband got the French Toast Combo ($10.99) and the few bites I had were fantastic. It came with two eggs and choice of two bacon slices or sausage links. The French toast was fluffy and made with Texas toast bread. 10/10 all around!!

Decent food and service. Interior needs an update. It's old inside but not the Old West type of old. Worth a try.

I thought the Stromboli was good but lacked real flavor. I was mostly eating through Italian meats (salami and pepperoni) with occasional flavors of basil but it was not deep and rich in its profile. "I'm going to need you all to move so I can get through," is a less effective and polite way of saying "excuse me, please." The kids in front of us ordered and rightfully got their food before us, but so much so that they finished and left before our food came out. This wouldn't have been a problem but when our food did finally make it to the table, it was on the cold side. Had they bothered to check in with us, I would have said something, but they didn't even bother. They were too busy playing with the dogs in the patio. The food was mediocre at best. The service sucked. The prices were fine. I'm only giving this place 3 stars for the physical atmosphere and prices. I'd find somewhere else to eat next time.

We didn't stay at the lodge because we were camping, but we had the pleasure of sitting at the bar with Dominique for dinner, who completely made our night serving the BEST cocktails! And the food was AMAZING too! You can of course fulfill your carnivore healthy appetite, but they have vegan and gluten free items too! It really isn't that far from the Town of Pinedale, so if you are looking for a GREAT restaurant, I would absolutely recommend the drive up to have a spectacular dinner with incredible ambiance. But the great dinner and service wasn't the only part of our eventful night. After leaving the restaurant, we accidentally took a wrong turn onto a road that we thought was the campsite and while backing up, we almost flipped our van over a cliff! It was literally dangling from the side of the road!!! So, because we had established such a great relationship with Dominique, I decided to call the restaurant to see if they could help. And by the grace of GOD, got reception and was able to speak to the owner, Kristine. Within minutes, she arrived and so did Dominique with a flatbed truck, and with the 2 vehicles, they were able to pull us out!!!! I have never been so grateful in my life for these 2 angels that saved our lives. They had been working all day and didn't even blink to come and help. And when I asked how I could repay them, they said, "Welcome to Wyoming, please just pay it forward." So, this review is not only to encourage everyone to eat, drink and stay at a BEAUTIFUL and SPECTACULAR establishment, it's a plea for me to be able to "pay it forward" a little bit to some really exceptional people who deserve all the best life has to give.

They definitely have lots of locals but also tons of people coming through on snowmobiles. My server was amazing. She kept everything clean, checked on everyone constantly, while alarms grabbing and serving the food keeping things clean checking on people etc etc and did it while making people laugh and smile. I ordered this delicious breakfast with home made biscuits that were heavenly! The eggs hashbrowns and maple sausages cooked to perfection! Ryan came in to get a bite with me before we headed back to Denver! He was also greeted and got him some breakfast as well he got an omelette which he also enjoyed! We went to pay and during that moment a person came into this tiny adorable diner and casually said "we have 24 people " . I looked at the server and she smiled and said I'm gonna pretend to not be overwhelmed by that lol we all laughed smiled and she handled that situation like such a champ. Ryan and I scurried out. So note to large groups if you have well over 20 people you should totally call ahead especially if you plan on going into a little diner in a small town. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)

They truly care, and it shows in the food preparation and taste. We decided to give the ranch-promise a test and jumped for the $29 16oz grilled ribeye. The Brussels sprouts were tender and slightly charred (my favorite), and the fresh mashed potatoes and brown gravy were home style comfort food by definition.
