TOTAL SCAM - stay away from these guys! We booked a reservation through VRBO who contracted out to WOW rentals. As our trip got closer, the stay at home orders in California due to COVID got stricter and forbade staying at vacation rental properties. I called them to inquire about their cancelation policy and was told they were not canceling rental properties and were essentially going to ignore the state orders. That left us in a bind because we didn't want to break the law. After a heated conversation with the owner Ryan, he sent me an email that my reservation was canceled because they wanted to offer the place to someone else. He said I'd get a refund minus 5%. Our reservation was $7k, so 5% is almost $400. Keep in mind - I didn't give authority to cancel my reservation. He told me it couldn't be canceled, then sent me an email canceling it. He canceled my reservation, immediately rebooked it, and still charged me $400. You could literally create a business by booking and canceling people all day long. What a scam. Horrible customer service, unethical, breaking the law, and thieves. I've already reported them. read more

This booking was made after the stay at home order was in place(but not extended). When we did our booking it was made for multiple households. Not a single household. Unfortunately we have to cancel our rental. Jessica stated that they refused to refund. There is still some criteria that hasn't been met for the reservations, having multiple vehicles, multiple households. Per the city of big bear they are also supposed to be enforcing this as well. I am glad that they gave a 48 hour window to refund, however that was done on email, and not the original booking application. I refuse to pay for a service that cannot be fulfilled. I paid for a place that can house 14 people, 2 households. hold 5 vehicles. Now it is downgraded to 1 household and 2 vehicles. I will be following up with my credit card company who handles both travel insurance and disputing. read more

Big Bear Lake Castle Glen Estates - 4th Year Wedding Anniversary Getaway November 17, 2020 My husband and I celebrated our 4th year Wedding Anniversary in Big Bear Lake for the first time. We normally go to Hawaii and celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, but due to Hawaii's COVID-19 restrictions we decided to celebrate closer to home, Big Bear. We booked a two nights at 14 - LAKE VIEW LODGE IN CASTLE GLEN thinking that we were going to have a relaxing and peaceful stay enjoying the lake view, but instead of the view taking our breath away, we were shocked to see mice and droppings inside the garage and inside the house. We were disappointed that this cabin located in Castle Glen Estates the most prestigious area of Big Bear Lake having such a large rodent problem. As soon as I had the unpleasant encounter with the mouse inside the garage, I immediately communicated with a WowRentals employee to state the issue of a rodent problem. A member of WowRentals was sent the next day to put mouse traps. We had to wait until the next day for a member of your team to come over to put mouse traps. No cleaning cruel were sent to the cabin to clean up the mice droppings. Mice have definitely invaded the inside of this cabin. Diseases can be transmitted by rodents. Feces from mice can spread bacteria. Question to WowRentals. Are your professional cleaners really cleaning this cabin? Droppings were spread throughout the entire garage and inside the hallway cabin. I spoke to the reservation manager Jessica and business owner Ryan Bradley on 11/20/2020 they both told me that there's nothing that can be done. Ryan recommended not to come back to Big Bear because, every house has mice. WowRentals was fully aware of the cabin's garage large door having a whole in the bottom, inviting mice to come inside the cabin. WowRentals still put this home on the website to be rented knowing that the garage door had to get fixed and knowing that mice could sneak inside the cabin at any time. Preventing and prompt removal of rodent infestation is key. read more

Just got back from our second rental at Lakeside in Bearadise! This house is fully stocked- kitchen, bed room, bathroom. Everything! It's great! Plenty of in-house entertainment- board games, tv, etc We rented the house for our COVID wedding, had immediate family only, had a beautiful ceremony in the empty lot next door, had a nice lunch inside. read more

We were promised a Refund, did not receive credit. Bad things can happen, the foundation of a company is not what goes wrong, it's how the company responds to the issue, here is how WOW respondes when there is an issue. I am sorry it affect you business, we had small children and pregnant woman in the home, your lack of response to the 15 phone calls and 13 text messages in what could have been a life safety issue or a terrible incident to your owners property is unacceptable and people should know about it both customers and your home owners. A small group of us and our pups go to Big Bear every year for our annual Friendsgiving. This year, we booked the one acre log cabin estate and we had an amazing time. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to town which was a big plus. The yard is huge and perfect if you have kids and/or pets. The house itself is very charming and you'll get that cozy vibe right when you walk through the door. We employed WOW Rentals to management our home in Big Bear Lake and it was a great mistake. Though reported as friendly by some reviews, we found they didn't care about our property at all. As a result, we sustained multiple damage which necessitate in shelling out thousands of dollars for repair. We are in the process of litigating against the company so I won't say too much. Suffice to say, they are dishonest and charged me much maintenance fees that are unfounded as well as housecall fees of $45 to turn on the BBQ. Last two nights rent was $ 600 and I received a check of $ 38.18. Ouch!! Did you know you have to sign an unconscionable contract and lets them off the hook in case guests sue, even if it is their negligence? It's an unprofessionally run establishment and I would also dissuade anyone from supporting such an establishment. read more

My family and friends stayed at the Mighty Bear Manor in late January, 2019 and I must say it was the perfect cabin for our large group. The cabin was extremely clean and cozy. The kitchen was fully stocked, it had newer appliances, it even has a washer and dryer which we used a lot and a second refrigerator in the garage. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfy :) My family of 6 slept in the room with the two bunk beds and we had more than enough room. There is a hot tub which we all enjoyed very much, especially the kids and there's a bbq on the balcony that we used every night. I can't say enough good things about this cabin! Wowrentals has other cabins but we hope to make THIS one our annual winter family and friends getaway, until next time Mighty Bear Manor! read more

Your agent refused and said that she was cancelling my reservation. This is a bait and switch situation, plain and simple. We booked this property because of the flexible cancellation policy stated on VRBO. Two days later I got a call from your agency with a totally different policy. If there was a mistake between your company and VRBO, that is an issue you have to resolve. Your agent suggested I contact them!? Booked an Airbnb in big bear that required us to use the rental company to pick up our key. We had confirmed with the Airbnb an arrival time of 3:00. When we arrived at 2:46 there was a sign on the door that said they were out to lunch at would be back at 3:10. At 3:18 they still didn't open the door for guest to come in. The employees were rude to the multiple guest trying to check in and get their vacation keys. It was after 3:30 by the time we got out of their with our key. read more

WOW rentals were perfect hosts. Due to COVID some small items in our rental, such as clothes hangers, ironing board, iron, and hairdryer were no longer stocked. I texted them at 5pm after we checked in at 4pm and they were in the driveway at 7 pm with hangars expressing their concern that after two stores they could not locate the other items. At 930 the next morning they showed up with what they could purchase on the 4th of July weekend. In passing, I mentioned I could not get the fireplaces to lite but did not put much effort into it. I told them I would call if I needed help. The next morning the handyman showed to ask if all was ok and if we needed any help with the fireplaces. Of course, I did need help but forgot to call! We had a great two day stay at the eagle estates rented thru WOW rentals big bear . We rented two homes for 12 guest and houses were very clean , stocked with what we needed and the process to book online was as easy as placing an order thru Amazon . Michelle in the office was polite and over communicated via email and text . I work for a large corporation that strives to deliver best in class service , Wow rentals did a great job providing us that world class service we preach . I used Wow rentals as a management company for my property in big bear and was an absolute disaster - they didn't manage or clean the property continuously tormented me for upgrades and finally cancelled my contract right before the peak season started costing me 10k worth of rentals - On top of it all they charge maintenance fees that are unaccounted for. My family and I rented a home through Wowrentals this past weekend. The house itself was my favorite to date because the size, layout, amenities and decor was just what we desired. The home was newer on the rental market and there were some kinks with equipment functionality during our stay. The Wowrentals team was quick to get someone out to address the issues. I was disappointed that our stay did not go smoother, but in retrospect, if we had rented with another company with less resources - it may have been considerably worse. Ryan Bradley, the CEO contacted me personally when he discovered that there were issues during our stay. I really appreciated the personal commitment that he made to right the situation. The Big Bear cabin that we rented from WOW rentals was spacious and location fantastic, but there were three major problems with our stay in Whispering Pines."" First, the dishwasher did not work. Based on the fact that it was unplugged and no detergent present, we believe this issue was known about prior to our arrival. Having to do dishes for 15 people twice a day is not acceptable and detracted from our vacation. Second, there was an electrical issue that made the power to the kids room and upstairs bathroom go off repeatedly (five times in a single night, making the space unusable.) this issue was also known prior to our arrival. Finally, the water temperature fluctuated in the shower from tepid to scaling hot, making it dangerous for our six small children to shower (since they are ages 4-7, they can't reach the nozzle through the scalding water to turn it down during a shower). The local property managers were very responsive to all of the other minor problems we experienced (very few towels, blankets, missing kitchen items), but these three issues were unacceptable. The owner of WOW rentals, Ryan Bradley, was unwilling to offer any compensation for these problems, and offered no explanation. It seems to me that he is buying up properties to try to make a quick buck and that there is a larger electrical issue with cabin that needs to be addressed. read more

I wish I could give them a zero rating but unfortunately this was not possible. When it was busy season, they did not give us a clean home (which was more than $1000 per night), it was not ready on time, they forgot to leave soap and sufficient towels, the fireplace was not working, and there were other issues. I had to spend hours texting and calling them to ask for a reasonable credit, adding to the aggravation of not receiving a quality product for which they charged a very high amount. They did not return any of the 3 phone calls and messages that I left. I would be very careful because their agreements are very one-sided to their benefit but they don't deliver what they promised. Our kids booked a great unit through wowRentals for our wedding anniversary. We had a home that slept 16 people very comfortably with plenty of room for everyone. We had issues with the stove and TV, but nothing major. Overall, everyone enjoyed the spacious home and had a good time. Wowrentals was quick to respond to our few concerns/questions. I too was one of the 9 residents staying for the Big Bear Cabin offered by Wow Rentals on 5/31-6/2. We rented the cabin two cabins for this weekend to support our niece who was participating in a 28 miles hike fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. We did to stay in a beautiful cabin with a magnificent view. Friday night and Saturday evening all went well. We did call in for extra towels and they were brought by their support staff (very nice lady) right away. Sunday morning 1:00 AM the alarm went off and continued throughout the very early morning at various times. Everyone got up; several of us inspected the house for fire, smoke or any causing factor. As a safety precaution with opened several windows and left them open throughout the night (40 degress). After the 4th alarm, I started to log: 2:02, 2:50, 3:16., 3:18, 3:49, 3:58, 4:05 lasted 4 minutes, and it continued numerous times. I myself, called the number we were given to call by the check in staff for emergencies, twice leaving a message. I already knew Peter was actively calling and texting the same number. It is obvious that someone did not transfer the phones over and the on call staff was not aware of the incoming calls. The On call staff was very apologetic when she got to the house about 8:30 or 9:00am. She too got to hear the alarm going of periodically, not as often as the early morning. The inspector who was brought in concluded that it was probably old alarms that needed replacing. She indicated that she would have someone come right away to address this issue. She told us we could have a late check out 3:00pm. We thought great, we could sleep for a bit before we got back on the road. She saw how distressed we all were and told us that Peter we would get a call on Monday. She assured us would get our monies back and stated that she felt bad how our stay ended with their cabin. About 12:00pm, alarm went off. I immediately call in to advise that the alarm had gone off again and where was the handymen that were supposed to send, but she had indicated that he was on another call but would call him again. We decided to pack and leave. The alarm went off for a constant 30 minutes. We heard the constant alarm shrieking for the full 30 minutes while we packed!!! By the time we were closing the doors the handyman had just arrived to disconnect the alarms. I can't believe that Wow Rentals has not moved forward with the refund that if you read above, would know its well deserved ... read more

We stayed at one of Wow rentals houses last year and everything was perfect, this time was different. I don't know what happened but it was nothing like it was. The house was not clean. The dishes were dirty. We had to wash everything before we could use it. There were several lights out, there was trash outside and cigarette butts everywhere. The whole area outside was very dirty. The table looked like it had never been wiped off, the BBQ was really dirty we had to clean it before we could use it or it would have caught on fire there was so much grease. Last year the property manager Lori met us at the house and showed us around and we were very impressed with her. Not this time. We had to go to the office and pick up the key just like every other company up there. I don't know what changed with the company but it was not for the best. We will not use this company again.
