Came in to get my lashes done a few weeks ago and Im highly disappointed. The regular lash girl wasn't in but someone else said they could take me for individual, mink, lashes. I didn't like the final look, it wasn't even and just too heavy on my eyes. Now when the lashes are finally falling out all my natural lashes are coming out with them, the girl placed the lashes badly (right on my natural lashes), and when she was applying at certain points she was 'plucking' around my eyelids. My first favorite lady I haven't seen in a while but last February (pre-Valentine's day) she suggested this masque for my floral cooch canon and it was AMAZING! I got a groupon for a chocolate wax at this place. The chocolate wax was great and I would definitely get it again but not here. I don't mind a fast wax but why rush and break the hair instead of pulling it out? I had many ingrowns which is usually due to the direction the hair is pulled from and not being removed correctly. While I don't remember my waxers name, I just want everyone to know she made feel very relaxed and comfortable. She gave a lot of really great advice as well. I used to come here as a regular about 2 years ago. Moved away & after being in the area a month ago, I decided to stop by. This place expanded to 2 floors and went to absolute sh*t. It's f*cking dirty & the Brazilian left me bleeding. Bleeding as in WAY more than any kind of bleeding should come from waxing. I will never come back here, at least not for a Brazilian wax. The hair grew back extremely quickly and thick; I'm sure that the hairs just broke, instead of being removed. I had several ingrowns. First one was quick You can take either the N or R train to 23rd street and walk uptown. The place is on the second floor. As you walk in, there are two chairs where person are seen to be having their eyebrows threaded into perfection. In the back, there was a mirror where it slides open and there were two mini rooms where it fit a bed into each. The service for the wax was efficient and quick with powder, wax and oil. Skin was smooth afterwards but there was some hairs sticking out that were forgotten. Second visit, I had an appointment, but it was for Saturday at 5pm. This is not the best time to come here. There was at least 4 people waiting and customers already in the service chairs and beds. Jotyi was the only person working the benches and the front desk, but she's nice so I decided to wait with patience. Same service as previous visit. Third visit, I learned to come on a Tuesday morning around 11:30am, was happy that i did. There was just one customer getting her brows done. The lady was very rude to me the whole time and I just felt uncomfortable and I still tipped her after the fact and just left. Most of the negative reviews I see are regarding eyelashes and personally I've never gotten that service done at wow. I've been getting Brazilian waxes here for almost a year now religiously and it's one of the best in the city. Extremely affordable and amazing customer service. I used to have Mary wax me but she hasn't been in for a while, now I go to Lena and both ladies are a blessing! Extremely thourough, professional and quick. I recommend getting the sugar wax instead of the chocolate if you have sensitive skin. The people complaining I really don't understand, if you want extremely high end service then go elsewhere and pay $75 for a Brazilian but if you want to save money this is the place to go! They're worth it! I will continue to come here as long as the prices remain as low and the service remain as exceptional. read more

2.5 rounded down ... As many others have mentioned, this is about as no-frills as it gets. I called for a leg wax and got one within an hour. Came a little early but was able to start immediately! I did mention multiple times I've never had waxing done (just Incase she thought there would be something important to mention) but she just shrugged it off. The wax goes on super quick with some rolling tool and they pat away with the paper! Very quick ... but also very VERY sloppy. She was honestly pretty "nice" (very low bar here) but the job was sloppy and I was twisting and turning in weird positions the whole time because she gestured me to turn? (which is why I mentioned I'd never gotten my legs waxed- was hoping she'd tell me something about how to sit or lay or stretch out ...) it just ended up in patchy and inconsistent waxing since she didn't just do it by area. Regardless, it wasn't as painful as I expected but I quite literally left the "salon" with patches of wax on my legs, leaving me feeling gross and sticky. She definitely did her job though- no hair on most of my legs. Missed some places but I didn't expect much. The inner part of my thigh has red marks (not just typical redness) and the walk home was terribly uncomfortable... it was a Groupon deal and I ended up paying $15 or so plus some tax and tip. I'll survive paying that price but god bless any one who pays the full price for these services .... they got the job somewhat done but I won't be back! read more

But for a little over a year I've been seeing Leena every 5 weeks to get a brazilian, eyebrow and lip threading! My first experience with her was amazing! She was very personable and comforting. This place is my go-to for waxing. I mean yea it's not quite your local luxury boutique waxing salon but I think it's as good as it gets. I've tried waxing from higher end places where the prices are easily 4 times more than WOW studio, but for me, the results haven't been that much different. These ladies are very professional, and I've probably been going here for the past 3 years now and never had a problem. I had a terrible experience After 3 days of waxing I had blood clots on my underarms (pictures attached) Maybe the person who was doing it didn't control the temperature of the wax while doing it Also I was forced to pay 20% or 25 % tip Also hated the rooms so small and untidy not clean at all But recently I went to this other salon named UNIQUE THREADING SALON 23rd street This place is much better cleaner and also I wasn't forced to pay a tip They happily accepted whatever I gave them Offcourse if I'm visiting a salon for the first time until I don't love it I'm not going to give such a high tip Hated the attitude and service too never ever going back there. read more

Great spot for eyebrow threading. Clean, fast and I always leave very happy plus the prices cant be beat in the city. However, I was disappointed the last time I went in as the girl doing the threading was not wearing a mask. Obviously it's not required anymore but I would be way more comfortable if someone who has their face super close to my face and many many other people daily was wearing one. Someone asked her to put one on and she said that she couldn't because she keeps the other end of the thread in her mouth. Came in here by accident thinking it was another place I have been before. I did the chocolate Brazilian wax and similar to what other reviews have mentioned. The woman who did my wax tried to up sell me to get the sugar wax by saying my hairs were too thick. I have done a Brazilian wax many times before and I never had anyone tell me this. The funny part was that this wax was less painful than my other experiences. She did a good job in getting the hairs out and making my experience less painful except for a small patch which she said was too short to remove (note she did cut my hairs prior to the wax being it was too long). However, I didn't like how long she took to do it (seem like she was inexperienced in doing this kind of wax) and I believe she was using the same strip over again to remove hairs. When we were done, usually the person leaves the room so I can get dressed, but she stayed and waited til I got up to get my bottoms which was weird. She left leaving the used strips and the little cup of wax left on the waxing bed and this seems so dirty to me and don't understand why she didn't throw it in the garbage. Overall, the prices are cheap, but I think you're better off going somewhere else that has more experienced people performing the wax and is more sanitary. Also, I was about to use their bathroom until I saw the sink was clogged with yellow water! read more

I went in for a full Brazilian service. The lady was not friendly at all, she came in with the wax extremely hot and put it directly on my bikini area! I let her know it is too and she continued without blowing the wax to cool it down. When I got up I realized my lower bikini area had hard wax all over still and everything was sticking to it (took me two days to get it off). All together that was the most painful and unpleasant wax I've ever experienced. Definitely will not recommend! read more

Me and my friend just came here to get my eyebrows threaded and I've never had such a worse experience. Let alone removing way too much hair and making my eyebrows, that are naturally thick and fluffy, extremely uneven and haphazardly shaped, she only acknowledged her poor work after I brought up my concerns. Do not go here for eyelashes. I purchased from Groupon but I decided to get the single full lashes. I paid $60. I asked the lady who did my eyelashes if the final result will look natural. Anyway when I opened my eyes I wanted to pull it all out. It's so unnatural looking. I could've done myself. It was done so messy.
