DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STAR REVIEWS - THE SALON FORCES YOU TO GIVE 5 STARS!!!! I came in here to get a Brazilian because I saw a deal on Yelp. Granted I haven't gotten a Brazilian for a while, it was painful but Preet was nice enough to be patient. It was my experience AFTER the service that absolutely SHOCKED ME! When I tried showing to Preet that I want to get the deal On Yelp, she tried to FORCE me to write a 5 star review on her. She literally grabbed my phone and started writing her own review. I politely took it away from her and told her I will write something later. I had to be somewhere in 10 minutes. When I saw that she was giving me an attitude, I decided to write the damn review but only gave her 4 stars. Preet and her coworker started INTERROGATING me why it is 4 stars, etc etc. at this point I told them to shove it and left without a tip. WORST WORST customer service. Also Preet only used one glove for my Brazilian. Like C'MON girl hasn't your momma taught you how to be hygienic. In conclusion, you get the SHITTY service for THE SHITTY price. Go elsewhere. read more

So here is what came out of my old go-to nail salon... Ta-da-dam!!! "205 Nails" is now "WOW Threading". This location just has a way of attracting affordable beauty services. After going to the same place on park ave for about a year, I decided to finally Yelp and see if there were any new threading places in the area. I was pleasantly surprised. The place must have been remodeled right before opening, so everything looks new and clean. The young woman who did my brows did a great job. After I got a terrible waxing job in Southeast Asia, she was able to make it look shaped again. The prices were another surprise. $5 for eyebrows and $4 for the upper lip - that's at least $3 cheaper than most place on Manhattan. When I was paying I got a sales pitch (a little awkward) about all the other services that they offer: facials, massages, henna, etc. The idea is to provide best quality services without raising the price. With my first experience being great. From here all I can hope for is that they will be able to keep up the good quality of service. 205 E 26th - make me proud (again)! p.s. it's between 2nd and 3rd ave. read more

I FOUND A LIFELONG PLACE, AND I KNOW YOU WILL, TOO! The service and quality was sooo good there is no describing. The chocolate wax was soothing, non- pulling, and best of all left no residue. The owner did an incredible job. Lets get real, ladies, we want someone we fully trust and who can get the job done. Both are equally important. Not to mention someone who won't rob us blind. WOW is everything we could ever dream of. PLUS she does eyebrow threading that is out of this world. I HAD to get it. It was 5$ and better than anything I've ever seen done. Plus her massages at the end of the eyebrow session was perfect. There are no words to describe my happiness with the service. I booked an appointment for NYE already. WOW Threading Studio is the best waxing place I've ever been to. I've been to over 7 different places in NYC ranging from 35-68 dollars and this was both the best deal, and the best service I could have ever asked for. Congratulations to a wonderful, decent, and hardworking person who does an immaculate (and I don't use this word lightly) job. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD THIS PLACE IS A GOD SEND. read more

Definitely not a wax salon. I've been getting waxes for 6+ years so I feel pretty confident I know what a good Brazilian entails. So here is all the things wrong with this place: 1. Small cramped room 2. Staff is clearly not trained in waxes (they may be pros at threading eyebrows but waxing is a whole new ball game) 3. She used on stick and 3 strips of paper to do an entire Brazilian wax....need I say more? 4. She poured talc baby powder and oil down my private parts before I knew what was happening (only 2 products they had) 5. She left many hairs but because I was so uncomfortable with the first 4 items plus the blood i saw that I told her to leave them and ran out of there. 6. Went home and cleaned my part with antibacterial wash and bacitracin. Hoping it'll be less horrific tomorrow. You get what you pay for. read more

DONT GO HERE!! I will never go back to this place and you should never go either. It was he most painful Brazilian I have ever been thru, I left bleeding on parts of my genitalia, in some places that didn't have hair to begin with. She left hair, and wax in the hair on some areas leaving me to clean it myself and figure out a way to remove the wax. My skin was swollen and sore, and my underwear stained with blood for days after. I am putting vitamin E oil on my wounds in hopes that they will heal quickly and properly. The woman who gave me the Brazilian told me it was because my hair was thick however, I've never been told that and my hair everywhere else on my body is very fine. Not to mention the majority of the women coming in were Indian and Spanish...I have friends from both backgrounds and it's always long thick and beautiful. She never apologized. I will never go back and I will tell anyone and everyone I know not to either. Spend a little extra money and go to someone who cares about your body, well being, and is familiar with the level of customer service that should be granted. This was traumatic and extremely painful. read more

I was nervous coming here for my Brazilian wax but the service was great. It took less than 20 minutes and the place was clean. There is a $3 groupon fee but all in all it was a good experience. read more

Do you care more about price or quality? Because at $15, you will not find a cheaper Brazilian in NYC. However, if you're like me, you would rather spend a little extra to ensure you don't get a wax that feels like an uppercut with brass knuckles to the vagina. THIS WAS THE WORST BRAZILIAN I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Here's a few reasons why: - Homegirl tried not to use gloves on me after waxing numerous people before me. After arguing with her, she finally obliged. WHY DID I EVEN HAVE TO ASK? I'm paying for a wax service; not an involuntary STD. It should be absolutely mandatory wherever you go to wear gloves during this service. It's a serious health risk and that alone was enough reason for me to never return. - The aesthitician (who I doubt is even licensed!) was brutal. My wax was three days ago and I'm still sensitive. I had to pause several times during the wax in order to prevent passing out as I literally thought I would faint when she was targeting my sensitive areas. - Lastly, I'm pretty sure 85% of the people waiting in the waiting area saw my ladyhood. The rooms don't have doors and the curtain is opened at least 3-4 times during your service. Do yourself a favor and find a better place. read more

Wow threading studio is the Best, most affordable waxing salon in the city!! The owner was sooo friendly and professional, I will be highly recommending this place to all of my friends. The service was outstanding and the prices are super affordable for all. I showed up for my appointment 2 hours early because I got out of work earlier than expected and the owner was nice enough to squeeze me in and take me early. I live in Queens, where I can find 100 other places to go, but I will definitely be coming back here from now on! It's well worth it! read more

This is truly a hidden gem! I have never had a better waxing experience in my life! The owner was incredibly friendly and professional. She did her job with extreme care and expertise. She did not double dip once, and this was one of the least painful waxes I have ever had. Her prices are great, although her service is easily worth double what she charges. I can confidently say that I will be loyal to Rimpy, the owner, for all my waxing and threading needs! It is truly a great experience when you can get a Brazilian wax done quickly and efficiently, and also enjoy the company of the waxer so much that your mind is instantly taken off of the service being performed. read more

Varsha did an amazing job with my lash lift & tint. What an incredible place with such sweet employees!

I came here because my friend highly recommended it to me for threading and Brazilian wax. I was very skeptical at first as I was hesitant of wax strips since I am use to the hard wax. After a more encouragement she finally convinced me to go. I purchased a $15 deal on groupon and decided to do my eyebrow threading as well. I must say I am SO glad my friend convinced me because I have found my new go-to place for waxing and threading. The place itself it small but quaint, It was not super decorated but I could appreciate that because it felt clean. I was greeted by Rimpy (the owner) who also did my waxing and eyebrow threading. I swear she is a miracle worker! She was very pleasant and interpersonal. She made me feel very comfortable and didn't speak to you like you were just another client. She was very personable. She used chocolate wax. The wax itself was of course painful depending on your pain tolerance but it wasn't as painful as I thought compared to hard wax. Pretty much the same. There were a few girls who walked in after me with appointments and who seemed like loyal customers which is always a good sign. Despite that she still took the time to make sure my wax was thoroughly done. She didn't rush to get me out for the next client. As for my eyebrows, it was the quickest threading ever. My eyebrows were completely butchered at the last threading place I went to (Perfect Brows) and I swear my eyebrows would never be even again. Rimpy however did some form of magic and fixed my eyebrows and they look better then ever! I didn't even have to explain or keep on checking to see if she was doing it right. She even gave me a mini eyebrows massage which I've never even had from a threading salon!! The price here definitely can't be beat but I think it is the service and quality that really matters here. **Also I must note that when I was reading the yelp reviews, there were a few reviews that seemed very fake. Profiles with no picture and only one review specially for Wow Threading?? I can't help to think they were created and written by other competing stores that feel threatened by the wonderful attention this place is getting. Just thought people should keep that in mind. read more

Purchased the Brazilian wax Groupon (3 Chocolate waxes for 42.00) Honestly i had to take a double take. I couldn't believe my eyes, what a deal. The average cost for similar services in the area are 60 bucks on up per session. I made my appointment within minutes of purchasing. They were very pleasant on the phone. I had to reschedule twice and the woman that answered was accommodating. I arrived a bit early for my appointment and i was still in and out in about fifteen minutes. The wax was quick, clean and efficient. This place isn't extravagant but I had modest expectations going in. This is by the far the best wax deal in history. I also noticed that they sold over a thousand groupons. I'm hoping that level of service and efficiency will continue as there customer base grows. read more

WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. I've been going here for a few months now & each time has been extremely disappointing. One woman named Meenu is not friendly, I wouldn't recommend getting a wax from her, she RIPPED off my skin. That aside, today really solidified my feelings about Wow Threading. My appointment was at 11:30, I was expecting to be seen within 15 mins. AN HOUR passes, & I'm still waiting, meanwhile Meenu's helped ppl that have come after me. When I asked her why the wait, she told me to wait. At that point I decided to leave & was unhappy. Very unhappy. I started going because what beats a $15 wax, but after the unprofessional experience. I will definitely NOT be returning. In this case, you really do get what you pay for. read more

This is what small business is all about. I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax and wanted to use it the next day. I called the salon but went to voicemail. They called me back promptly but my phone was having problems so we had to hang up. They called back again later and were always kind. I was finally able to call from a different phone and schedule an appointment. I showed up late because of delayed train service and felt terrible. The young lady working there was actually apologetic for asking me to wait another 10 minutes! Here I am feeling terrible and she's the one apologizing. It really did make me feel better about the whole situation. The waxing room was clean and they do not double dip, which is great. The process was fast and I decided to get my eyebrows threaded afterwards. She did a great job on both the eyebrows and Brazilian and did it all with a great attitude. The prices at WOW are phenomenal and they sometimes have frequent guest cards where you can earn a free service. Overall, this is the ONLY place I will go to for waxing and threading. Check them out! read more

I went here over the weekend for a chocolate Brazilian wax (fun) after purchasing an online deal. $15 for a Brazilian?! That's the deal of the summer! I arrived at the salon on a busy Saturday evening but was nonetheless serviced within 20 minutes. The esthetician was personable and made me feel very comfortable. The process was super quick and I was laughing most of the time. She waxed with total efficiency and not once tugged without removing hair. I was done in less than five minutes and upon inspection only saw one or two hairs left over. Great job! I also got my underarms waxed and it was the same quick and mostly pain-free experience. WOW is housed in what used to be 205 Nails, my neighborhood mani/pedi spot for almost 10 years (the nostalgia!). The place is as bare bones as it has always been. Quality service and excellently priced. I will be back. read more

I've had my share of at least 5 different threading places in Manhattan, and I never liked any one of them. The issues with most places are the unfriendly rushed service (it's too "hi, pay me, bye"), poor fluorescent lighting and overpricing. As soon as I walked into this place, I immediately loved the atmosphere. There is a lot of natural light, so afterwards, you can actually inspect the work and not be surprised when you get home. The owner is incredibly approachable and thorough. I always get my eyebrows, upper lip and chin threaded. I loved that she would take the minute to examine my face to make sure she didn't miss any spots. I have no idea how she pays rent because the pricing is extremely reasonable. I'm excited to get the herbal facial next time. Best thing about going here? The mini eyebrow massage after threading. It's amazing. And everything is VERY clean. BOTTOM LINE: Go here. read more

My new go to place! My friend told me about the Groupon deal and I immediately yelped the place and I was surprise that it had five stars. Trusting yelp and my friend's recommendation I tried the place out. The reviews were accurate the owner was really nice and informative! She told me about the benefits of using chocolate wax, and she was right how it was better for the skin and she doesn't double dip! Also every customer has their own cup of wax and not shared like other places! Definitely will go back, and I recommend to try the place out! read more

They tried to hide my review on Google without addressing, apologizing, or even trying to rectify their piss poor services...so I'll make sure it's seen here as well... By far the WORST experience I have ever had at a so-called professional establishment! The women are beyond RUDE and unprofessional. I will NEVER spend a penny at this place again. If you're looking to save by coming here, DON'T DO IT. Spend that extra money and go to an establishment that understands and values customer service and treats you as a valued customer. It's sad because this used to be my go to place for Brazilians, tinting, and threading...I've even recommended this place to a multitude of friends and know for sure that I've brought at least 6 new customers to them based on my recommendations...but never again. I moved away for residency but still come back to check on my apartment. I was so excited to come here and have my eyebrows done, but unfortunately the woman who used to do them appears to no longer be there and I ended up with an older woman who did not know what she was doing and ruined my eyebrows (pics to follow) and then tried to blame it on me! This business is not what it used to be. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

I never feel compelled to write a review on places because generally the ones I find on Yelp are for the most part accurate. However this place I need to speak on. So I heard about this waxing salon thanks to groupon. I bought the chocolate Brazilian wax for $15 (insanely cheap if you ask me) and for that price I wasn't expecting much. I arrived about 5 minutes before my appointment and was taken in immediately. I made sure to ask for Josie because all the reviews suggested she was the best. Uhh I wish I didn't. She came in and rushed the appointment. There's was no care or concern to make sure I was comfortable. Now I have a pretty high pain tolerance but for those who do not, the chocolate wax can be extremely painful because of her lackluster waxing techniques. She did NOT inform me when she was about to begin the wax, nor did she wait for the wax to cool down a little before applying it to the skin. During A normal chocolate wax, you do not need to use waxing sheets to remove the hair. The chocolate wax hardens itself and can be removed without the use of a sheet. Clearly she did not get the memo because she used them anyway. She DIDN'T soothe the skin after ripping it off. She applied the sheet and yanked it off without applying pressure to the area before, during, or after. My wax lasted all of 5 minutes! Usually a good full Brazilian wax takes about 15-20 minutes minimum. So 5 minutes is unacceptable. When She was done she half heartedly applied oil and walked out. Didn't clean off the excess wax or calming Lotion. Now like I said I didn't expect much because I only paid $15 but damn was this just horrible service. Never again will I return. Lesson for the day: you get what you pay for. read more

Love love love it here. The ladies make you feel so comfortable like family. I have been coming here for about 5 years now and I usually go for eyebrow tint and thread, eyelash tint, and upper lip thread. Recently I went for my first ever Brazilian and Roop made me feel sooo comfortable especially given my nervousness. I've been stepping out of my comfort zone and decided to do more services with them then just my typical tintings and threadings because their prices are just simply so amazing. Today I got a detox facial and rimpy (the beautiful owner) gave me a Henna. Both were so amazing. Can't recommend this place more. Love all the ladies especially Roop and Rimpy. Take it from someone who has been coming here since before they were so popular! Also quick tip : they offer Groupon prices in store so don't worry about buying groupons :) read more

Believe all the reviews because this place is really as good as it gets! My method of getting brazilian waxes is by getting whichever Groupon has the best deal 'cause usually they're all OK. Last time I had a terrible experience, which actually left me in pain for a couple of days. A visit to the Wow Threading Salon has definitely changed my way of getting waxed-- regardless of Groupon or not, I'll definitely be coming to WOW as my waxing/threading salon. First of all, the owner is so nice and personable! She makes you feel like you're in her home and you're a guest. She is patient & really good with communication. I first got a brazilian wax, which was great because she 1. doesn't double dip & 2. used chocolate wax-- I feel like it was easier on the skin. Everything went quickly. Then I decided to get my eyebrows threaded based on other reviews. I usually do my eyebrows myself because the one time I had threading done, I didn't have a good experience, and I'm also afraid that they'll make my eyebrows too thin, but after talking it out with Rimpy, the owner, for all of two seconds, she told me she would help shape my eyebrows & leave areas that I should grow my eyebrows out. She guided me before, during & after the threading to show me how my eyebrows will be threaded, how I should hold my hands on my face (last time I got threading done, the lady did not tell me that, which is probably why I didn't have a good experience, and where I should let my eyebrows grow up. I almost spent $75 to go to an eyebrow specialist because I'm getting married in a year-- good thing I found this place first! I'm actually looking forward to going back as this won't be as much of a chore anymore. I would highly recommend going! read more

Horrible horrible HORRIBLE experience. I went in for waxing service. The wax they use is terrible. The wax was like a roll on stick, so that same wax is used on everyone that comes. This is worse than double dipping. I have never seen an esthetician use a roll on stick wax. Then secondly they left me completely bruised up, and left SO MANY stray hairs. How do u expect to wax all hairs efficiently with horrible wax. My skin was left red, bruised, with prickly stray hairs everywhere. Once I explained this to them, they started talking badly about mean their native language. Not only was the service horrible but the atmosphere was disgusting. The table was covered with plastic wrap like what your grandmother would put over a couch. The walls were cracked and half way painted, supposedly they are renovating. Like honestly this was the worse wax experience of my life. read more

I've been to 15-20 salons and there are very few that I like. This place has personable people who took care to ask the kind of eyebrows I wanted (thickness, shape, length) rather than giving me whatever they thought best. I think my girl's name was Rimpy? I haven't had anyone else do them, but will definitely go back and update! The older lady was also very sweet and I think she was the one who gave me an appointment over the phone. Definitely recommend this place! read more

The only reason why I gave this place two stars is because of Joyti my waxer, otherwise they would get 0 stars if that's possible. To start, the First Lady whom I didn't catch her name began with threading my eyebrows. They came out very mediocre. I've had waaayyyy better threading done before so that was disappointing but I figured I'll just deal with it. I also decided to get the Brazilian chocolate wax that I saw on groupon, and the same woman who threaded my eyebrows BEGAN with the waxing. This was my 2nd Brazilian is In life and I must say the first one didn't hurt nearly as much as this one. I felt like she was ripping very huge sections off and so I may have inched a little in the pulling process but she kept telling me to "relax" and not in a nice tone. I told her "I'm trying but this isn't a walk in the park" . She then told me, "it hurts a lot because you shave, DONT shave" . She was very unsympathetic and seemed bothered by me being in pain. I was in so much pain and upset from her being rude that i started crying, sad to say. Next thing you know she walks out and gets Joyti, thank heavens! Joyti then took over the waxing, and was patient, kind and sympathetic. She wasn't able to get a couple spots on my actual bikini line because they were too short I guess. I'm really happy Joyti took over because I was very close to stopping in the middle of the waxing and getting up and leaving with the first woman doing it. Besides that, the decor is very outdated, and plain so if you're looking for frills, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Great customer service, great prices, no double dipping. Often I have been disappointed by Groupon deals, many businesses believe that since the customer is not paying full price for services, that they should not give 100%. This is not the case with WOW Threading Studio. The girl who did my wax, Lima, was so attentive , patient, and great to talk to. Very pleasant experience, I cannot wait to go again. read more

I had been to Wow threading 2 years back after I purchased a groupon for waxing. When I went for my appointments for waxing, I realised that the wax being used at the salon didn't suit my skin, and I was having allergic reaction to it. So I stopped waxing for an year. I was going on vacation so wanted to get waxing done. I called up the owner 'Rimpy' and told her of my issue of the wax she uses and requested her if she would rather use my homemade wax instead for same price as her service. She agreed over the phone, and I made an appointment for the same day. After I went to the Salon, Rimpy kept insisting me to try out the chocolate wax for the whole body as she said "it was safer and more natural" than the Honey wax she used. I was bit skeptical at first, so I said I would try the Chocolate wax only over my legs. But then she went on again on how great I would feel to get the whole body done, for the price she was offering. After much persuasion, I finally gave in. I entered little makeshift waxing room and it looked completely unhygienic. The waxing bed was sticky, not sanitized and was covered by a thin paper roll, which eventually got stuck to my body. The staff was not given proper instruction on how to handle my case. The Staff came in and was about to use the honey wax, before I pointed out that it needs to be changed to Chocolate wax. She filled the honey wax containers with Chocolate wax. Sadly, this I noticed after my session was over. I also made sure to notify the lady that I have sensitive skin, but she was still very rough while waxing. I realised after reaching home that certain areas weren't waxed off well and the chocolate wax acted like a industrial adhesive which would not come off for 3 days. Also I had bunch of bruises near the tricep area. Next day I woke up with an allergic reaction on my whole body. I had an early flight to catch for my vacation, so I could not call Wow threading studio and tell her about it. I took anti-allergy medication hoping it would solve the problem, but it did very little to help. The allergic reaction took such a turn that my whole body had bumps and a red pigmented rash. This kind of horrendous rash never happened to me. I called Rimpy several times and left messages on her cell phone. She never bothered getting back to me. My whole vacation was ruined. Most terrible experience I ever had in my life. It's been a month and my body is left with these tiny bumps. I don't think I will get my money back, but at least my review can help others think twice before they head to Wow. read more

Excellent place to get your eyebrows threaded. The people that work here really know how to make your eyebrows look "on-fleek." I came last year to get my eyebrows done for the first time and I've been coming back here ever since. Best of all, everything is reasonably priced at $5. On top of that, they offer a loyalty card as an incentive to get you to come back so definitely ask about that. For those of you that are wondering if eyebrow threading hurts, It does at first, but you'll get used to the pain or it just simply diminishes if you keep getting your eyebrows threaded. read more

Not worth the price! I can get the same quality for $25 including taxes in East Harlem (If I wanted cheap lashes), I wouldn't have gone downtown nor spend $40 plus $10 tax. The reason why I stopped going is because my eyes get very irritated with the cheap glue they use and the lashes look very cheap, they don't have different curl options. First of all I arrived on time to my appointment but waited almost half an hour to see the technician, she was very friendly which is the only reason I give them 2 stars. The glue that they used started BURNING my eyes. She finished putting the lashes on both eyes within 20 minutes! Which is impossible if they put lash by lash (100pcs per eye). I had asked for a D curl which make my eyes look more awake I always get the D curl and this is definitely not it These lashes looks just like the $25 ones. Not worth the results for the amount you're paying. "Wow" is NO longer a wow. It used to be good but not any more. When they first opened with the owner, Rimpy, things were well. Now, it's all about the money and no longer the care of customers. AVOID this place! I had been coming here since they first opened but services for the last 5 months has been horrible & going down hill ever since Jyoti left. I was waiting over 45 mins for Rimpy (even made an appt.) & the ladies would tell me, "she's coming, she's walking over". However, after the long wait I gave in and took any lady working. Not one person had any clue on how to thread eyebrows. I gave them a second chance, a month later and after both times, I told myself - NEVER AGAIN! Everyone has different pain tolerance, but it hurt me! I was okay because I had got waxed 2 months ago so I wasn't to hairy. But the plus is how quick she was! Under 10 mins! Also didn't show me no love :-( I need love! Don't just keep ripping my skin off! Sheesh. At Least pat me down, ladies you know what I mean.
