Their ube is also excellent - richly flavored, and again not too sweet. I highly recommend getting them swirled. Their drinks are also very good - we have had matcha, oolong, and others. The parking is a little tight right in front of the store - but there's a large lot right past it on Buford highway that has plenty of parking. The store inside is cozy with plenty seating and space. The staff are always friendly too. Whenever I need a lil pick me up, this place delivers

I guess I must've written it off due to the parking situation, and I honestly would've never visited, but a friend suggested coming here, so here I am. It's very, very limited parking. I'm not sure if we're *allowed* to park in the nearby parking lots, and I didn't have to, but if there's only like 6 spaces with barely enough space for cars to pass through entering and exiting... idk, it's not for me, esp when Doraville can get v traffick-y and the turn lanes are just waiting. Interior wise, it's cute. It tries to invoke a sense of Japanese aesthetic with the shoji panels, all the wood and light, the fake flowers, and I don't hate it. It's a fine place to sit and chat, though I feel bad for others who want to visit because again, the parking here sucks. I got their black sesame latte float with a matcha and sakura (seasonal flavor) swirl. The sakura was sweeter than anticipated and not floral, which was a bit disappointing since I didn't like it alone or mixing with the matcha flavor. The black sesame portion was fine. I like the nuttiness of black sesame in general, and I would've loved if they used more for a stronger flavor. The flavor was subtle, and with the ice and soft serve on top, got easily diluted.

Matcha Cafe Maiko - Very tight. It was probably cute when they opened but it felt a little muted/old to me.

WOW! I wasn't…read moreexpecting anything other than a sloppy, coarse sugary sweet dessert that would be just okay, but after one spoonful, I knew I was so wrong. SnoBayou snowballs are easy enough to make. First you pick two flavors (or one flavor twice). Their flavors include: Strawberry Ga Peach Lemon Blackberry Pineapple Watermelon Then you add your stuffing ($1 extra), which comes as either: Vanilla Ice Cream Strawberry Ice cream Lemon Sorbet Finally you add your toppings ($0.50 extra). You can choose between Sno cream (Real whipped cream) or Sweet cream (condensed milk) Snowballs also come in mini ($4), regular ($5), or large sizes ($6) For my regular snowball ($6 total), I got watermelon and GA peach flavors, with strawberry ice cream as the stuffing, and whipped cream as the topping. They pour the stuffing first, then wrap the shaved ice around it. The shaved ice is very smooth, and is loosely held onto the icecream. None of the flavors are strong or sugary sweet, because the flavors come from fresh fruit, and that really makes a difference! I thought the regular size was enough for me, but if you're hungry or it's a hot day, The large might be up your alley. Customer service was great! I was walked through all the toppings and they were more than happy to give their own recommendations, but still let me choose my own toppings. I didn't try all the food trucks at the Alpharetta Food Truck Rally, but of the ones I tried, SnoBayou stole the show. I'll be looking for them!

I had lemonade and my friends had peach and blueberry. We ended up going back and getting an actual 'snoball'. There currently is a special $3 for two flavors. I mixed my own and had lemonade ice with strawberry. It was amazing! Very refreshing and tasty. I got the 'snocream' (whipped cream) on top and it made it even better! My friends got the 'sip of summer' and loved theirs. Can't wait to go back. The workers were very friendly and attentive. They put a lot of dedication into making the perfect 'snoball', and I appreciate it! They profusely thanked us for stopping by, which is always nice. The portion sizes were quite large so that was a nice surprise. TL;DR: Go here! Great 'snoball' to cool you down this summer. Friendly staff and wonderful portions.

The first snoball proper I had was in Baltimore. I'm not hard to please when it comes to frozen or…read moreicey treats so I quickly fell in love with snoballs. One thing though, crafting the perfect snoball takes a little risk. You may think you like blue raspberry, but then they start offering you stuff like ice cream, condensed milk, and whipped cream and add-ons. The texture and flavor hits different when you add the extras. Then there is Big Easy Snoballs - a New Orleans inspired joint. Back in the day, it used to be a food trailer that was stationed on Moreland and Ponce and eventually a storefront opened. Not too much different than what Baltimore presents for snoballs except you get a little bit of a brass band tune in your head while you're eating it. Big Easy has a gazillion flavors and combinations to try. I'm not an extra syrup/sweet kinda guy so I tend to request less syrup. My favorite flavor is blue-raspberry or black cherry BUT I don't wanna walk around with a blue or red mouth all day so I learned they have a clear blue-raspberry and clear cherry. Then I ramp it up a little with condensed milk. Better than ice cream damn near. As of mid 2024 the service at Big Easy has become almost 100% non-confrontational. They require customers to order from a website. There is essentially no greeting given, no salutation, they just eventually call out a name when the order is ready. Not sure why they moved to this format, but it's not the most inviting. Not really the motto of any food service product with a New Orleans moniker. Luckily, it hasn't affected the snoballs though. My stance is 3.3 stars in the current format of Big Easy.
