Huge fan of suno. I don't live in GA, so it is always a treat to get suno when I'm visiting. The seating area is pretty limited, but it's a nice atmosphere for hanging out with friends and family. Service was great. We were greeted promptly and asked if we had any questions or needed any recommendations. Once our order was placed, we had a short wait and our orders were complete. The quality of the tea has never been that great here but I don't come here for the tea. Their shaved ice is good. I can't recall another place in Atlanta that has amazing shaved ice. Snowflake Tea House does have better tasting ice but it's all the way up in Pleaseant Hill and does cost more. SunO meanwhile has weekday specials. The large Thai tea is around $3.89 and about twice the size you'll find at most places that charge $3.75 for a medium. My wife and I will get the large sometimes and share. I do feel like they skimped a little on the toppings. Would I come here again? Yea. It's in a convenient place for me. This place has changed, and not for the better. This was my first time back since Covid and I was extremely disappointed. First of all, they are using the front left third of the space as a storage area, full of boxes. I know first hand that there is ample storage space in the back. The store has an overwhelming smell of cleaner, yet the place is very dirty, especially the air vents. The Thai Tea shaved ice has an odd, almost gooey consistency. The flavor is nothing like it used to be. My guess is that they are not using authentic Thai Tea because of the high price. I'm aware of how expensive it is and how time consuming the process to make it can be, but there truly is no substitute. I paid almost $10 for my dessert and left a $2 tip. The seating is poorly planned and the haphazardly hung turf that is stapled to the wall is just plain stupid. Here's the craziest thing.... after driving from Decatur to Buckhead and writing this lengthy review, the darned thing hasn't even melted at all. That's just not right. SunO was an okay spot for a summer treat! I got an ice cream dish that was supposed to have brownies but they were out, so I got Kit Kats. My boyfriend had a similar signature bowl but with strawberry ice cream. The ice cream was just okay. My chocolate ice cream was pretty flavorless and not creamy. I love Suno! Their desserts are a similar to shaved ice but instead of plain ice they use an ice that has condensed milk mixed into it. It results in a creamy shaved ice experience that I've never had anywhere else. I love how fresh and flavorful everything is and it has just the right amount of sweetness with the syrups they put on there. I've been twice and I got the Hawaiian both times. I love stopping here for guilt free treats. I usually get the black milk bubble tea and green tea ice cream or if I want something a little sweeter I'll get the thai tea. It's your standard bubble milk tea, but this location is convent to me and I can always get in and out with ease. I've had the green tea ice cream crepe before, it's not bad but the mix of ingredients (corn flakes, red beans, condensed milk, and green tea ice cream) together aren't really my thing. BUT the green tea by itself is my new favorite ice cream. It's not on the menu, but if you ask for you can buy a medium sized serving. I think I'm the only person that specifically goes there to buy it, it's much more convenient that driving to Super H Mart. They have weekly specials, I always seem to end up here on Tuesdays, which is how I ended up trying the thai tea. If you sign up for their email list they ALWAYS have some sort of special buy 1 get one free or free menu items for particular holidays, which is a great way to try different items on their menu. I personally prefer Suno to Honey Bubble on Ponce de Leon, because Suno has ample parking and is never crowded unless I go when school is out and there are a lot of kids at Suno. read more

Was in the area and stopped in for bubble tea. Their menu for bubble tea is a lot more scarce than other bubble tea places - only about 5-6 flavors total. That should've been my sign to leave, but alas, I was craving bubble tea. I ordered a large black milk tea with grass jelly at 75% sweetness and less ice. While the sweetness level is perfect, the rest of the drink was less than. The drink tasted a lot thinner and watered down than I'm used to, even with less ice. And the grass jelly? They totally skimped on. I saw them putting in two small portions from an ice-cube tray, which may be sufficient for a small sized drink but definitely not for a medium or large. Normally, I have the opposite issue with having too much toppings in my drink so I was really surprised. And to top it off, I didn't realize until I got to my car that the large cup size wouldn't fit my car's cup holder. So I had to hold that large cup of watered down bubble tea with too little jelly during my whole drive home. Needless to say, I won't be back anytime soon, at least not for bubble tea. read more

It's a strange set up, but I liked it bc I can stand there and try to figure out what to order without holding the line up. The girl working this particular Saturday was friendly and worked as fast as she could since she was the only employee working the front. In my head, I'd been calling this place "Sun-OH" but the website informs me that it's pronounced "Su-NO" like the word "snow." Well, you learn something new every day. SunO doesn't serve regular shaved ice but a form of flavored, creamy sweet shaved ice. I've had a small build you own Thai tea SunO ($2.99) with condensed milk ($0.49) and a small taro iced tea ($1.99) with tapioca bubbles ($0.49). If you don't want to create your own masterpiece, you can stick with SunO's prefab options. Possibilities are endless, from SunO flavors, to toppings, to syrups. The Thai tea SunO was delicious! The ice texture is soft, and you can definitely taste the Thai iced tea. The taro bubble tea was a hair too sweet for me, so I might ask for less sugary stuff next time. The bubbles had the right amount of chew, and they weren't stingy with the amount. I'll have to return on a Monday to get double bubbles sometime. SunO also offers crepes and slushies if those strike your fancy. Staffers are smiling and cheerful, always a bonus for an establishment. Very patient while I poured over the numerous options. I live in the apartment complex behind the shopping plaza in which SunO is now located, which means I pass that corner at least two times a day on my way to and from Emory's campus. I stopped in on my way home this evening, eager to try this kind of dessert for the first time. I was so bummed that I was out of town on Friday when they had their grand opening! Unfortunately my experience at SunO turned out to be very disappointing. First, the very pleasant Asian young man behind the counter informed me that the "Signature SunO's" only come in the "regular" size, that is, about 1.5 times larger than a normal soup or cereal bowl a.k.a. wayyy too large a portion for me. Also: they each cost $6.07--an outrageous price! There are 18 different Signature SunO's, each with a combination of at least two toppings and two sauces. That what seem to be the most interesting and appealing desserts offered are unavailable in normal portions is a serious deterrent to me. So instead, I ordered a M & M & M "SunO for Kids" in a "small"-sized cup for $4 (one of five available combo options). What I got was the shaved ice, a handful of M&Ms, and a serious dousing of chocolate sauce. I'm not sure to what the third 'M' refers! The cup was still huge (about the size of a large soup-to-go bowl) and very deep, which meant that the topping to shaved-ice ratio was completely out of whack, which was disappointing, because the "vanilla"-ish shaved ice is rather bland and definitely needs to be balanced against other flavors. Granted, there are other things one can order at SunO, like bubble tea and milkshakes, so I might be tempted to stop in again and try those items. The store is very peppy and aesthetically pleasing, is open late (10 pm), and seems to be staffed by nice servers, and I genuinely want to like and support it. But the high prices and questionable tastiness of their product are currently working against them in my book. read more

Suno has always been an old classic in the Duluth area, especially during summer time. I've been heading back to Suno everytime they have BOGO deals on their signature shaved ice or boba teas. Located right in front of Hmart, this location is always easy to spot from the highway. The interior has a few tables and sometimes they have a candy shop or tasting station for you to try toppings for free. My favorite that I always get here is the matcha shaved ice with red bean. You can opt to have any topping on the side in a separate container or just have it added on top. For around $7, its definitely big enough to share with a group of 2-4 people. Their boba teas can be good value too during deals and are good average taste. Overall if you're looking for a dessert place to stop by after dinner, definitely consider Suno! read more

However, supposedly their shaved ice is also milk based so it may be why it is creamy.. i got small base witj mango flavor (more than enough!) with mango and banana fruit toppings, red bean paste and peach sauce. Initially i considered green apple sauce but they made fun of me (supposedly weird combo). Anyhow. I was pretty happy with my dessert until something like ice crystal or some other thing stick on my gum. I threw up everything... not a pleasant feeling. I wouldnt ever go back bc of said thing happening here. However, i did read in the reviews that they do patpingsu well. the only good part of the shop is when you put the straw in the cup. i ordered the strawberry boba with the tapioca pearls and the drink itself had no flavor at all i had way higher expectations when i saw the reviews and i was very disapointed in the drink. the tapioca was a bit off it had a kinda weird taste and did not taste like any other shop i've got them from, also they were playing a add for talkie on the tv 10 times in the 5 minutes we were there. the service was great it took only a few minutes. tho the prices were not that great if you're on a budget. i recommend just going to the tea leaf and creamery cause its way better and no more than 1 minute away from the shop, read more

I ordered the medium rose milk tea iced with boba and pudding. The lady at the register gave me the option between a green tea or black tea mix. I opted for the black tea. I found the rose tea to be the perfect mix of sweetness. The custard went well with the tea and the boba was chewy but tasteless. The black milk tea that came with the deal wasnt that good. It tasted watered down and more like soy milkish than tea. This wouldnt drive me away since their thai tea is the bombb. Probably wont get boba with my tea anymore though. read more

Gotta be honest, I didn't even know SunO had bubble tea, but bubble tea is what brought me here. I tried their Taro milk tea with bubbles and got the large 32 oz ($3.49). Right off the bat, the simple price of SunO's large tea is roughly the price of competitors such as kung fu or sweet hut's medium, so you get lots of bang for your buck. Admittedly, the tea was not mixed very well (the tea was really warm, was stirred, not shaken, and I had to stir it myself so that the chill of the ice could chill my entire drink. Flavor of the Taro was pretty decent. Not super sweet, no aftertaste, but it has good flavor. The boba itself was kinda hard, but didn't take away from my enjoyment of the drink. This SunO is around the Emory area off of North Decatur road. Parking can get tight depending on the type of day, and exiting the lot can also be tight, but this is not unique to SunO's lot. Big fan of SunO here. Heard they were having a grand opening party tonight at this location. Was going to Publix across the street and decided to drop by. Apparently it's been open for about a week now per some of the employees, but tonight is the grand opening party and they're giving away a free ipad at 9pm. Get in on the raffle! SunO's was great when it first came out because it was a one of a kind shaved ice place. It was part of the original Asian boom restaurants and establishments that made Pleasant Hill the Asian food mecca that is now. However, now that other places are opening near the booming Sweet Hut on Pleasanthill, SunO is will have to watch out at PleasantHill and rely on the Emory crowd. Since it is the only bubble tea place around Emory, it certainly holds the monopoly. I am appreciate of the deals they have to encourage students to eat or enjoy the desserts but I wish they hadn't become so commercialized sometimes. So many of the flavors are the same: mango, passion fruit, kiwi and the flavors come from teh same 3-4 bottles of sugary syrup. Tha'ts right, if you want kiwi shaved ice? Got it, a large squirt. A kiwi flavored bubble tea? Large squirt. So that part is a little troubling to me because then you can't control the sweetness factor and everything in Suno's is UBER sweet. That is something I think they could work on since the other competition now offers patrons to choose the kind of sweetness they want. You get your bang for your buck for everything. So I recommend not to go for the boba tea unless you want SUPER sweet things. I instead recommend the shaved ice dessert because at least you can control how much syrup you want on it. I think they do the Asian flavors best like Pappinsu. The fruit ones are too sugary and after they melt you might as well ask for boba to make your melted concoction into a drink. Pappinsu has the red bean and asian flavors that make this dessert what it is supposed to be (a huge hit all over Asia with all kinds of Asian beans and jellies but not too sweet!) Usually young staff that are college kids so the people are friendly and personable. Tables get a little sticky after a while so be careful where you put your elbows. Menus are kinda sticky too so be careful of nice clothes or getting things stiky around. read more
