Springdale has three local photography artist with a gallery and they are all very talented, but the photo art at Dezion by Jason Butler was by far my favorite. We are hobby photographers and we felt very fortune to meet and shop talk with the artist and we can tell immediately how passionate he is about his craft and the amazing Nature that surrounds his home. Jason's photos reflects who he is. In his photos you can feel the humble love and respect he has for nature and he has honed his craft to capture that love in the most amazing photographs. I wish I had 10% of his talent! Although we walked in close to closing time, he spent quite a bit of time with us talking about where and how the various photos were taken and showed us some of his favorite lenses giving even more life and the stories behind the photos. Strangely, one of my favorite photos was the night shot of the Hoover Dam. We only met him once but we left feeling like we made a new friend. When we got to Zion National Park, we first checked out the village of shops outside the entrance. Tribal Arts Zion is full of all kinds of colorful art, jewelry, blankets, pottery, and most are tagged with the artist who created the object. Unfortunately, the one female staffer did not have a very friendly customer service attitude. She was very curt answering any questions and not forthcoming with any further information. She did not seem to want to assist us although she did ask us to let her know if we needed anything. I personally did not feel welcome in the store and we left without buying anything. Prices did seem reasonable and there are some very fine pieces available.

It's one of those places where you walk in thinking you'll just browse for a few minutes, and then you end up taking your time because there's actually a lot of interesting stuff to see! I ended up getting a green 3D T-Rex dinosaur, which immediately caught my eye! I found out while purchasing the 3D T-Rex Dinosaur that it was made by a high school student, which made it even better! I thought that was such a cool detail, and it made the purchase feel more special! It's nice being able to support something local, especially when there's a story behind it! The shop had a nice mix of souvenirs, gifts, and fun little finds that felt different from the usual tourist items. I liked that it didn't feel like everything was the same thing you see everywhere else! Zion Canyon Offerings is definitely worth stopping into if you're visiting Zion and want to bring home something a little more unique.
