Beware!!! The room I stayed in was full of fleas. I called the front to ask them to clean and they refused. Room 7103 in the lower floor was full of these pest. The assistant manager was rude and unprofessional. I was considering becoming a member of WorldMark but this location changed the way I felt. Now I will never stay at WorldMark again. Really enjoy this location. If your one of the lucky owners to get mountainside views it's even better. Located within walking distance to the quaint village of Solvang. The resorts rooms are well maintained and newly renovated. Our king bed was firm and we enjoyed all the down pillows and spa like linens. The night stands have usb plugs built in very convenient! We picked up the only room available on bonus time which happened to be the handicap/special needs room. Such a nice room period! If I needed these amenities or had brought my mom it would be perfect! Very well thought out yet done in a way that it didn't in inconvenience us in any way even visually. We all enjoyed the pool and hot jacuzzi. It's very small but we hit it at a good time. There's a kids pool we left alone... And an outdoor shower to rinse off. Rented 2 movies from the resorts library $3 each. Checked out 2 games for free. Girls raided their vending machines to enjoy with their movie. Decided to use the stocked (not with food) kitchen and BBQ to make our dinner and enjoyed it by the fire place in our room. Plenty of free parking. Valet carts are available in the lobby. Check in is 4 pm checking out 11 am. read more

Newly renovated rooms with modern, bright, and open floor plan. We stayed in a 2 bedroom queen corner room on the 3rd floor. View of the pool on the front door balcony and neighboring hotels and hills on the private balcony. The room is clean, with new and fresh smell. I didn't expect to see the newly renovated rooms as the pictures on the website and Yelp still showed the older rooms. Proud to be a WM owner and see our maintenance fees at work! There's a limited parking space. They only give 1 parking pass per unit. If you have 2 cars then the other car will have to park on the street- which is next to the property so I will not deduct a star for that. read more

This was our first stay here. I was under impressed to say the least. got the 3 bedroom "penthouse " and a 2bedroom. I've stayed in 3 bedroom penthouses in St. George and Windsor. so I was expecting the same kind of room. That was not to be found here, quite disappointing in fact. The 2 bedroom seemed to have more room in the hall and kitchen. while the "penthouse" just seemed crowded. We had 5 adults in our room. The bathroom in the master was small like a 2 star hotel. there was hardly any counter space at all. The differences I could see were the jetted tub, which was hardly of any use, it was so small. There was no bathroom in the second king size bedroom, we had an ice and water dispenser in the refrigerator where the 2 bedroom did not. The patio area was really small and tight. Maybe 3 people could fit out there. The patio furniture was well worn. the 2 bedroom had much more space on the patio. it seems this resort has been having renovations quite often. it certainly hasn't been done to the unit we are in. almost want to come back just to see how it will be updated. I want to see what a regular 3 bedroom looks like also, because I feel like there was a mistake, but hubby said it was marked penthouse. and why we have to carry all our stuff up a flight of stairs is a wonder to me. next time I will have to check the descriptions more carefully. There are some good points and the reason they get a 3rd star. Most importantly, they don't have the sales meetings/ owner update. probably because it's such a small resort. if you can call it that? I do have to say, that the more I go to them, the wiser I get. so I was fully prepared for a sales pitch smack down , and the $75 gift card. but no such luck?! that's okay, because I rather not take time out of my vacation to listen to how I should spend more money. I have more than enough credits and pay enough maintenence fees. Another good thing about this resort is, it's located so close to the heart of Solvang. there was no reason to drive, but it was just warmer than we expected it to be. I did not bring the right shoes, and we had our grandsons with us. We got 2 free movie rentals, but we didn't have time to watch after being out all day. surprisingly, my husband called down to see if they had hot chocolate. they did, and he was given 2packets. later he went down with my SIL, and the lady at the front desk said it cost $1 for 2. well hubby and SIL didn't have cash so they paid her later when they went down to get the movies. next day they went down and a guy there gave them packets without charging. so not sure if we were to be charged or not. As I stated earlier, we may be back, just to see the renovations. who knows when that will be though. read more

It feels like you're in the middle of no where. You literally just see green hills surrounding you. I was surprised they have a WorldMark here in Solvang. This place is updated. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, and a full kitchen. They even have a dining table for you. But the sucky thing is that for one of our bedrooms is int he front, people tend to peek even when the shades were closed! read more

I was contacted by Worldmark Solvang by way of an email from Cara Godfrey, the same Manager I dealt with at Worldmark Solvang. She apologized and then negated the apology by making excuses for the incident, one of her excuses was that (paraphrase) -She worked there 12 years and never had an overbooking -. Another excuse was to attempt to imply she could not help me was because I was on the phone with Extra Holiday. Straight up lie. I was on hold with Extra Holiday, and Ms. Godfrey and I had several minutes of conversation. Most the conversation was her making excuses, discussing the internal workings of her company, that Extra Holidays was on the East coast, etc. None of the conversation was about solving the problem at hand. Today I got an email from Extra Holiday hoping I had a wonderful vacation at Worldmark Solvang, asking me to go on social media and tell about it. It looks like Extra holiday is somehow closely affiliated with Wyndham Rewards, because their e-mail address ends with "wyn.com", like everyone else tied to Wyndham. Ms. Godfrey and her receptionist told me that Extra Holiday was NOT part of Wyndham, "they just did reservations". I cannot believe how this company continues to waste my time. This is absolutely the worst response to a problem I have ever experienced. The worst experience with a hotel. Now I am waiting for a promised contact from Extra Holiday. Hopefully their response will be somewhat appropriate to my concerns. Here's hoping..... BTW I do not want to hear from Ms. Godfrey again. read more

I have been to this Worldmark location many times. Great locale for families or couples. It's a great, relaxing environment. It's a little crowded now with tourists and it lost some of its small town charm. The Worldmark is very comfortable and rooms are clean. Every unit still has its own grill. Grounds are neat and well-kept. Some units don't have elevator access and parking can be a little tight but now that renovations are done, parking is much better. Pools are not heated but hot tub is always great year-round. There is a decent selection of DVDs and you can check out games from the front desk. read more

Cannot believe we found this wonderful place!!!Rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo for 22 days!! Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to being called home to receive my first Covid19 vaccine. Had to go as this is so important!! The staff at Worldmark, Solvang are incredible. Names to remember... Steve, Stephanie, Robin, and Chris. All were wonderfully helpful, polite, and professional. The amenities are amazing. Fully stocked kitchen, just supply your own food!! Right in the middle of everything. Walk to town for favorite danish. Great restaurants and tasting rooms. This is our second stay here, and stayed in a studio. We were happy to stay on the top floor, but our room overlooked the pool. It was pretty noisy during our time inside the room, and you could hear neighbors out on the balconies. Quiet hours are not enforced well here. Nonetheless, we were furnished with all the amenities with a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, BBQ, movies, etc... The mattress was very uncomfortable and I had difficulty sleeping. Also, it would have been nice to be supplied with extra pillows. WorldMark is within walking distance to the many distinctive shops and eateries in Solvang. read more

We are owners and have not been to this resort in a few years. It was nice to see updated rooms. We got a 3 bedroom for 3 nights. The room wad not available when we arrived (early), but left our luggage with the front desk and were given a baggage claim ticket. The bad thing is that you are only allowed one parking space and we had 3 cars (8 ppl). Two of us parked on side streets. Rooms were clean and stocked. Front desk and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our requests. We enjoyed the rec room and pool. Our unit had a king, 2 twins, a queen, and sleeper sofa in the living room. We used the small patio and gas grill. Great time. read more

We only stayed one night on our road trip back home and I wish it could've been longer. We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit on the ground floor, away from the lobby and recreation area. It was clean, modern, and comfortable. We weren't pressured to attend a time-share workshop either. We came at a time when most businesses implemented their winter business hours (late November). The woman at the front desk was also helpful in helping us find a family friendly place for dinner. The only bummer was that we took our kids to use their rec room (billiards table and air hockey). It was connected to a TV room and they had this rule that if someone was watching, you couldn't play in the rec room. It was still early (7PM-ish) and our kids weren't able to play. read more

Awesome location. Park your car and just walk all around the village. Places to shop and eat. Multitude of bakeries. Wine tastings. For a steak dinner there is a nice AJ Spurs close by in Buellton. It seems they have done an upgrade to the rooms. Our studio looked like a "man cave" painted in medium slate blue with dark woods. The sofa was strangely low so the murphy bed could be opened over it. Too low for someone with back issues. I would suggest you at least have an easy chair in the living room as an option. Needed some comfort after walking around but only dining room chairs and bar stools that were hard. This place has AC and even our small patio was comfortable even though our view was the parking lot and the back of our car parked right at our room. We could see the stars at night and the air was fresh. The only negative was the spa. The jets are wussie and do no therapy. Staff was friendly but I still wonder why while we were checking in the clerk suddenly changed the room that was assigned to us and we were stuck with a "Special Needs" room. If they were not full I would have complained. The shower was a nightmare with a slippery floor and handicap bench in the way and water leaks out of curtain. Hard to get the shower head to stay in place with the hose attachment. Please don't give this type of room to those who do not require them. read more

WorldMark Solvang - Worldmark by Wyndham in Solvang - Hotels Near Me - Solvang, California

This is an all around great resort. Worldmark built it from the ground up so it has the size and amenities that make hanging out at the resort a lot of fun! The rooms are nice and big, there is a good size pool and a couple of hot tubs, a decent game room area, and parking never seems to be a problem. The Solvang area itself is pretty fun too, there are lots of great restaurants, wineries, and some beautiful hikes. Not to mention its only an hour and a half from Santa Barbara. The resort has a great location right in Solvang, so all the shops, tasting rooms, and bakeries are walking distance, but 1-2 days is all you need to see the town so if you're here longer than that definitely plan on driving around to the other awesome local towns in the Santa Ynez valley. For those of you who've seen any of my other Worldmark reviews, here it comes again... Please Worldmark, I beg you... some of us actually enjoy sleeping in when on vacation, pretty please will you hang black-out curtains in the bedrooms? And give us enough room to turn around in the showers with out getting tangled in the shower curtain! All it would take would be moving the curtain rod out a few inches. This is a problem at ALL of your resorts and it would make my vacations So much more enjoyable. Thanks. read more

I have been to this location of my timeshare a few times now. Stayed in 1-2 bedrooms and studios. All are great! This trip was only 2 day, so I stayed in a studio facing the pool. After a long hike in the morning, I was SUPER grateful they let me check-in early for nap time. Haha. The service is always great here. Easy and friendly. The studio has a Murphy bed, a full kitchen and a tub shower. My favorite thing about this timeshare location in particular is the proximity to the main Solvang downtown area. It's far enough off the main drag to feel private, but close enough to walk to everything. They are currently renovating certain units, so there is a bit of noise and furniture piled up around. read more

Another great Worldmark location with nice, large clean rooms. The furnishings are contemporary and televisions are LCD, and not the large heavy tube kind. Our unit had a fireplace and BBQ grill was on the patio area. The pool is a bit on the smaller side but, there is a second jacuzzi located closer to the other units. Refrigerator in the units have an ice maker that gives you crushed ice as well as filtered water. Central units have an elevator the outer 3 bedroom units do not. Their location is just on the edge of the center of town, so you are just a short walk to almost all of the exciting action known as downtown Solvang. About a block away is Corque Hotel with Root 246 restaurant which has the unarguably the best food in Solvang. There is also a little trail right behind the property that takes you on a mildly scenic walk of the neighboring homes and Santa Ynez mountains. I did not experience any of the ant problems that many of the other reviews had noted, bu the front desk acknowledges this upon check-in and encourages you to report them immediately so they can address it ASAP. Wireless WiFi is not available, but you have to rent one of those iBridge units in order to connect to the Internet. read more

What we liked: - Clean, spacious reception area and clubhouse. - Comfy King-sized bed - In-unit washer/dryer (albeit TINY) - USB plugs in the nightstands - Nice open floor plan in the common areas (i.e. kitchen, living room, dining room) - BBQ grill and decent-sized balcony - Within walking distance to town - Swimming pool and hot tub are well-maintained What could be better: - Pull-out murphey bed was horrible. HORRIBLE. Could not get a decent night's sleep on that thing. - Parking is a disaster. It discouraged us from going out at night for fear of losing our parking spot. - Not a lot of activities or owner appreciation events (unless we weren't told about them) All in all, we had a fairly pleasant experience and would definitely consider staying here again. read more

Having been to MANY of the WorldMark resorts this is one of the better ones, albeit one of the newest ones. Walking distance to EVERYTHING. Solvang is a really small town and the WorldMark is basically with most of the other hotels near the Mission Santa Inez on the fringe of town. Not as "It's A Small World" looking as the rest of town with windmills and traditional Danish arcitecture. HOWEVER - Our room, on the third floor of the main building had ants. Supposedly we are the first to ever have ants in this building. - The quality of the TV reception really sucked. - There is a pool table off the lobby, which is good, but unlike other locations we have been to, it is a pay table. As an OWNER I don't like to be nickel & dimed. So as an owner I believe it should be free to play a little pool. - Machine noise heard in the room, dunno if it was the air conditioners on the roof, maid's laundry machines, alien spacecraft, but all day and night can hear machines chugging along in the background. read more

I've been an owner since 1996 and therefore stayed at many Worldmark resorts. This property was nice and clean. Front staff was kind and check in was easy. Why the three stars. First off this wasn't a resort rather clean apartments for weekend rent. The title resort is misused. The game room was clean however paying to play pool and ping pong wasn't my idea of resort. Dvd rentals for 3 bucks and paying for wifi... Again doesn't classify as resort rather a cheap hotel. Getting nickled and dimed at every turn just isn't right. Solution. Raise the annual rates and provide the wifi, ping pong balls, DVDs, simple requests. Because I bought such a long time ago the value is still there. Not sure about today's rates. This is my second time staying here. The first time was lovely. This time...not so much. My aunt booked this room for me. She is an owner. Unfortunately she booked a studio. The room doesn't even have a real bed. It has a Murphy bed and I can feel all of the springs in the mattress. Breakfast in bed will be easy as the bed is right next to the stove, if you can even call it that. I can hear my upstairs neighbors, every time they walk across their unit. It is super great at midnight when I am trying to sleep. I tried to get a different room, but I was told that because I am not an owner there is nothing they can do. Considering the fee they charge for guest passes and the cleaning fee, I think I will stick with hotels or other vacation rentals. read more

My parents have a timeshare and we stayed here for our one night in Solvang. We had a suite at my parent's discounted nightly rate. The suite had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room area and a balcony patio with a BBQ and wonderful view of the rolling hills of Santa Ynez. Very picturesque. The property is new and very clean. The location is perfect, just steps away from the downtown Solvang area. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back. read more

I stay here every year, and maybe because this year I stayed during Spring Break, it was the WORST week ever. The owners/guests with kids in Bldg 7 must not have known that anyone would want to sleep past 7am. They put 7 kids out in the courtyard between Bldg 7 and Bldg 4, with bikes, screaming, chasing, bumping into doors playing "Hide & Scream". They took over the back jacuzzi instead of taking their kids to the big pool, kiddie pool, and jacuzzi available by the main building. More screaming and no room for adults. (Those 7 little kids were in the jacuzzi when I arrived, with no adult supervision, since their 2 adjoining rooms were nearby.) In the afternoon, when I might've been able to relax for an hour, the parents again used the courtyard for a playground. When one group of kids is out, other parents let their kids out to join in, no matter what time it is. There are other places to take the kids to play, but the parents/grandparents found the courtyard more convenient. Just couldn't catch a break this year and came close to going home early to get some peace and quiet. I'm not expecting dead silence when I'm here, but would like to sleep past 7am on my vacation. ***Suggestion: When checking in with little kids, Front Desk should remind parents that rooms are NOT sound-proof and to be respectful of others at the resort. Give options for the MANY parks and recreation areas in and around Solvang, including the large field behind Bldg 4, with cement trail to run/ride bikes if they don't want to drive. Also remind parents not to use the jacuzzi for their own private kiddie pool. Yes, I have kids, and I get that you need to entertain them and let them run off that energy, but please, be considerate and take that noise where it's appropriate! read more

I loved the amenities and convenience of this place! I used the business center every day to monitor work from afar even though I'm was supposed to be on vacation. The had a wine and cheese reception that we unfortunately missed right when we checked in - and they had special activities every day of the week. We made good use of the jacuzzi - they have two. I used many of the discount coupons for wine tastings, bakeries, the spa, and other eateries and received a souvenir tote bag. We used the grill during our stay as well as the washer and dryer. We had trouble with starting the grill and the maintenance guy came right up to help. I love the completeness of everything in the kitchen-utensils, dishes, pots and pans, etc. The location was also convenient walk. The cons: They were repainting one of the buildings so there was a little bit of the fumes. The bedroom is in the front with a window which I though was a bad design. I felt uncomfortable the whole time and had a hard time sleeping. One of the machines in the fitness room wasn't working. We didn't use the rec room or the gift shop, but it was cool that it was available. The rec room had a pool table and movie rentals, a couple arcade games and vending machines.The small gift shop at souvenirs, toiletries, and ice cream until 11 p.m. Dawn at the front was a great help the whole time through. She helped me with printing and faxing documents for work and even calling several places to assist us with finding a place to get a massage. She was very friendly and upbeat with helping everyone. Our stay here was fun overall and felt lucky we got to stay here! read more

I love staying in this Worldmark location. It's in the middle of nowhere, you are pretty much stuck in one touristy town, and there isn't much to do unless there's a festival in town. But still, I love staying here. I think it's the Danish decor. It's really unique and maybe a part of me wants to live in Denmark? Idk. But another clean and great place from Worldmark. The rooms are medium large - large in comparison to other Worldmark locations. Amenities are standard but not spectacularly unique. Your stay depends largely on the weather and tourist time of year, but I've never had a hard time in booking this place. It's usually always available. The location is about one block away from the heart of Solvang. (Not that Solvang's any bigger than 3 block anyway). So very clean here, has all standard amenities of a family Worldmark place, pretty updated place (compared to everything in town), and it's just a perfect stop for a night or two. This is my first stay at this Worldmark resort. However, just coming off of the Pismo, this one seems like a palace! I am staying in a 2 bedroom unit and it is very clean and pretty spacious. The kitchen appears smaller than the other 2 bedroom Worldmark units, but it's not a big deal. The barbeque pit out in the balcony is unfortunately not covered or underneath an eave. The reason I mention this is because it is raining and I cannot barbeque without getting wet. Maybe I should try it and this first experience will be like. I still have to visit the surrounding area and see if the location is convenient to the shops and restaurants around town. read more
