Spent a week here as I have many times, and for the most part I am very happy with the visit. The walls do a great job and keeping your room quiet, the rooms are clean, the parking is great. The staff has always been nice and helpful. The things that weren't so great this time, the bed I slept on, was one of the worst beds I have ever been on. I haven't slept so badly in years. The water pressure in the showers is sad, I'm not sure I was clean at any time. Lastly the movie selection in the lobby seems to be getting smaller and smaller. I have seen some great movies here as I don't watch many during the year and on a week vacation I enjoy movies in the evening. read more

THIS time we had a deluxe room, and it was thanksgiving. the pool, fun, nice and warm while freezing winds and rain drove in. hahhhhha the views nice, and no one bugged us like they did last time. it was a good visit. I never get to use worldmark, cause they are always overbooked, so as far as bang for your buck? not so much, but this time you made me happy. I had to book out nearly a year. my mother owns this, and I can honestly say the last ten years of paying for this was not worth it. This location is a time share. You can buy into the program and then use your points at different places at the different Worldmark resorts. This location was spectacular! The location couldn't have been better; we were half a block from the beach, could look out our balcony and see the beach, and with the window open, could hear the ocean. They have tons of amenities here. A game room, an arcade, a workout facility, a pool and three hot tubs=nice! The room itself was nicely equipped with a fireplace, a washer and dryer for those staying longer periods (although I brought my dirty laundry from home to do there =) ), a stove, and a huge bathroom, if you like huge bathrooms. The only critical comments I would make about the hotel are: if something is broke (pool table), fix it, it's not that tough to get someone out the same day, fix it, and it's done. Next, I'd suggest "sprucing up" the stair wells. I know 99% of visitors use the elevators and not the stairs (I didn't do it just for my health-I wanna avoid standing next to people in the elevator!), but for those that do use them don't wanna see stairs and a stair well that looks like it belongs in a water treatment facility, not a nice hotel. Finally, find something else to do with your trash. Our room was located next to a room where the cleaning staff would empty all the trash on the floor. It stunk! Move your trash! Best Worldmark we've visited. Pool open year-round was nice and warm. Most rooms seem to offer ocean views. Location is awesome, as in-town as you can get in Seaside. We had a 3br facing the pool on the 4th floor and enjoyed the view from the deck. Nice room like many other locations. Well-built with minimal noise from sides or above. Pool is very nice -- big and fun with two spas and a kiddie pool. Open 8a-10p and enforced. Downsides: even if you are an owner, they push you to take their 90-minute informational. You must visit the sales people if you want your parking pass where they pitch you hard to attend the next day. They also openly sell same on the street to ANY passing make-female couple. There is a nice store downstairs selling coffee, snacks, wine, beer, milk etc which is great! Unfortunately it closes at 4:30-5:00. Would expect such a place to close at 7:00. Nearest store pen later is Safeway - a big walk or short drive away. I like this Worldmark and I will return as long as my kids are kids. Once they are grown, Never. read more

We've been owners for about 7 years - and we always go to the owner update. And sure they try and sell you more. But we know that. We love the resorts. We love the flexibility. The rooms are big enough for our whole family and saves money with the kitchen and amenities. The fireplace at night with the waves crashing is perfect ambiance. Pool was often. Crowded. We use to find rooms here all the time from timeshare holders off of craigslist. Haven't stayed here in a couple years primarily because we now have a dog. They don't allow dogs here, which is weird since they wanted us to come down for a timeshare meeting. Love the heated pool that's open year round. There's a shop on the side of the hotel for various snacks. The lobby use to have dvds to rent. Also a room with a pool table, and a ping pong table. If they allowed pets on the property i would strongly consider purchasing a room here. read more

Very very nice!! I love it here, we have a very nice view of the beach and have a nice big room. Room includes 2 bathrooms, 1 queen sized bed, 2 singles, and a pullout bed from a closet looking thing. There is also a kitchen, washing machine, and dryer. This is a great place to run away from home to. The units are well stocked, in great condition, comfortable and spotless. Even in the gray and dreary winter months, it is relaxing to hunker down and watch the weather roll in over the hills and ocean. If you are as fortunate as I am and can work anywhere there is a telephone and internet, this makes a great remote office. While the internet service was always there, it didn't always have the throughput I would have liked. They are in the middle of converting to wireless so I'm hoping this will improve the bandwidth issues I had. The staff go out of their way to make us feel welcome and take care of us. There are a couple of new eating places in the area that are worth revisiting. There are many shops and attractions within an easy walk, sadly most many are closed during the winter. The beach its literally a few yards from the resort, making for a great walk in reasonable weather. If your in the Worldmark program, you won't want to miss this. read more

This place is a joke. There are many ways to stay here; Through a promotion offered to rope you into a timeshare, with a friend or relative of a timeshare, renting time from someone who is an "owner" of one of the timeshares, or throwing your money away on an actual timeshare. My family has bought into this scheme and what a mistake it has been. If you are given a promotional stay here, you'll be required to attend closed door sessions of shakedowns to become an "owner". If you cave to their mob-like tactics, you'll then become just another number who was suckered into this thing called a timeshare. We come here once a year or so with family and it is a far cry from a hotel or resort. If you are used to hotels, or any place that accommodates with basic guest services, this isn't the place for you. It's more like a summer camp for children, yet missing all the fun activities and doubling down on the rules. The rules are absurd. You have to limit the amount of people in a room to a very small, less than the room can sleep, number. Then, there's the fact that every single thing is an extra fee. Wifi, games in the game room (half don't work and my wife is showing the concierge which eat the coins as I type this out), refreshments in the lobby, extra towels, ROOM CLEANING WHILE YOU STAY, and probably much more that we didn't use all cost extra. Even the business center has a sign that says "limit your time to 30 minutes". Huh?? I'd steer clear of the Wyndham racket and stick to a hotel. It's no surprise there are law firms popping up everywhere to legally get you out of the timeshare contract. read more

Booked through AirBNB! This was our first family vacation spot as a family with a 2 year old and a 5 month old. We drove from Seattle and it was Soooo worth the drive. This is the absolute BEST place to stay in Seaside. Most rooms have views of the ocean from your patio, it's located right in the middle of the town making outings entertaining and EASY. (All of this coming from a new mom of 2 under 2). After being scared to even attempt a family vacation during this season of life, the Worldmark was a breath of fresh air. You can literally walk to everything, beach, pool, shopping, bars. I would have even loved this place as a newly wed with no kids. It's clean, safe and fun. Yes, it is a timeshare but if you are FIRM on your "NO" you aren't obligated to attend ANY sales pitches. Just ignore the pushy sales people if you aren't interested...it wasn't difficult to do. This time the keys weren't working and last time they gave us a key to a room that was already occupied! You have to pay for wifi even when your an owner, and it still doesn't always work! So pissed. Check-in took over an hour waiting in a long line, including confusion about finding our reservations, followed by 15 minutes of sales pitch and annoying, unnecessary questions. (I predict a lot of marketing from them in the future ... ugh.) There were many exhausted and unhappy families in that lobby, so clearly our experience wasn't unique. We checked in at 6pm to be told our reserved and pre-paid room was not ready yet. "Hopefully around 7." Annoying that they couldn't be more specific. When I asked about check-out procedures so I wouldn't have to stand in an hour-long line AGAIN, the staff was vague. Still no contact from the front desk by 8 pm, so I called the front desk from our traveling companion's room. First they had to argue and insist that I had been called ... then check and call me back. We finally got a room number at 8pm: four hours after check-in. The closet smelled strongly of dog pee and industrial cleaning supplies. (Hmmm, so that's why the room wasn't ready.) I couldn't hang our clothes up, so we opened the windows and aired the room while we went out to late dinner. Note: the resort charges an additional $100 refundable deposit for cleaning charges, even if you purchase the room from a Worldmark owner. Weird aside to cap the day: after getting to sleep at midnight, the front desk called us on the room phone, claiming we reported a beeping alarm (wtf?) After reading other reviews, it must have been someone in ##22 (we were ##21) - those rooms are located next to a laundry chute door with a beeping alarm. There are some rooms with worse locations ... but the one-bedroom units are nothing to write home about for over $200/night. You can "see" the ocean (technically), but it's mostly a village view of a sea of balconies, the building lobby and HVAC box. As for "resort" amenities: they provide a bar of soap, and that's it. No shampoo, wash your own towels and take out your own trash. We won't be repeating this experience or recommending to others. read more

Compared to other hotels in Seaside, it's a really strong 4. Compared to other WorldMarks, I couldn't go higher than a 3. This is the 5th WorldMark I've stayed in, and I thought it was a joke when I was told to expect a sales pitch at check in. Seriously!? No way. It's never happened to me at other WorldMarks. No, they've already got you bought into the whole program, there's no way that's going to happen, right? WRONG! Not only was there a sales pitch at check in, but we got a phone call in the room a couple days into our stay for another sales pitch! That really turns me off to this whole thing. Have I been lucky before to avoid the pitch at all the other ones I've stayed in?? Who knows. But I didn't like it. Other than the sales, the room was just a bit under normal WorldMark standards. Loved the view (we were on the south side of the building). The faucet in the "guest" bath wouldn't stay on unless it was in a certain position, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up, and the TV in one of the "guest" bedrooms had a bunch of vertical lines happening. Minor annoyances. And you had to pay for WiFi? Man. Yes, it's a nice room, and amazing that you can get a multi-unit room on the coast. Yes, it's right on the beach and most rooms have some kind of view, but it didn't meet my WorldMark expectations. Take away the sales and make sure the rooms are in good working order and this place could easily be a 5. Or, if it wasn't a WorldMark and was a regular Seaside spot, it would be a 5 as well. read more

The hotel is nice, they have there own free private parking space, free internet etc... The Rooms has a lot of room especially the bathroom its huge. The bed is not comfortable in the studio and I don't like how the tv is next to you it should be in front of you when laying in bed.bThey have their own little kitchen that is nice. Edit- I changed it from a 4 star to a 2 star is because when they try to sell you the full package of ownership to there timeshare and they say that they just want to help us have a good vacation and that they are not going to put pressure on us to buy. It's nice to be in a place where great customer service is a given. Everyone I encountered was gracious, helpful, accomodating, and friendly. Even from the get-go: I pulled up I my massive grocery hauler and the attendant immediately offered to let me in the garage rather than navigate parallel parking in the circle. That might seem minor, but after a week of dealing with people of questionable work ethics, this was a relief and got the visit off to a bright start. We were traveling with a basketball team, so having an impressive game room and pool area made it easier for us parents to relax, knowing the pack of wolves we brought were distracted from their usual hotel antics. The cafe was perfect and saved me from having to hunt down a Starbucks. Better food and a bigger selection was a bonus. The view from the impressively spacious room was just gorgeous. You literally couldn't be closer to the Lewis and Clark statue, which is super cool to contemplate, especially when it's windy and cold... so nice to have the option to be warm with a glass of wine over freezing on the beach. Comfy beds, full kitchen, extra bathroom... all there. I had booked a different hotel, which is still nice but just lacks the things mentioned above, and a member/friend arranged for us all to say here- I agreed because it seemed nicer, and I was so happy to see it was also $200 less for my two day trip. Rebooking here and encouraging others to do so in the future is a no-brainer. THANK YOU! read more

We won't be back! My family and I have always wanted to stay at this hotel, and have admired this property when we passed it while staying at other hotels in Seaside. Unfortunately, out experience has been, in a word, awful! From the rude phone service ( who hung up on me at one point!) , to the dirty room ( Which we showed to the guest services manager, and he had re-cleaned) , to the parking-lot view room we received ( even though the ad said pool view), to the loud drunk people outside at 2 am (even though we requested a quiet room), to the fact that we paid 400/night for a suite that doesn't have air conditioning or free wifi, our experience has been epic in the all encompassing nature of its' unpleasantness. This is just the first 24 hours of our 3 night stay- this morning my wife was informed that we are only allowed 1 hour (by appointment) in the pool for the duration of our stay. Customer service here is often hilariously bad, and many things feel at-best unorganized, and at worst, a bait and switch operation. I would strongly urge you to look for another place to stay! read more

While checking in we were invited to tour during our stay. We were hesitant, but assured that the $40 and tour could easily be canceled. Later we decided that we were just not ready to purchase and decided to cancel for now.(We canceled well over 24hrs in advance) We were informed that we could only get our $40 returned if we had a "medical excuse". After explaining that was NOT what we were told, we were assured that our money would be returned by 3 different people. It has NEVER been returned. With a a great pool, 2 hot tubs, and direct beach access, this resort in seaside is the best of the best. The 2 bedroom room included a master bed and 2 twin beds, with a pull down bed built into the wall of the living room. The room also had a kitchen, washing machine and dryer. There was 3 televisions, and a couch. I even got a beautiful view of the sunset! After staying here for the past week, it goes unsaid that I will come back again for a fifth visit. read more

We love coming here. The pool and hot tubs are always warm. Rooms are great. Not crazy about the remodel colors, but it's all nice and fresh. Kitchen is well stocked. The furnishings are nice. I do wish that other guest were more mindful of the age requirement for the hot tubs. No kids under 7. They can use the kiddie pool and regular pool. My Darling Husband, we've been married for over 13 + years, and myself are owners here at WorldMark Seaside. You know the eight story building on the beach in Seaside, Oregon... this is that specific WorldMark property. As owners we have enjoyed the free parking, game room with billiard tables, and usually excellent customer service at the front desk. All of the suites that we've stayed in have been well appointed. We were able to vote for our choice of details and schematic for the next upgrade that the suites would be given. We've been given a tour that included one of the penthouse suites as well. Now we know why the penthouse suites are always booked well in advance. There are a few business on the main streets in Seaside, Oregon that are only open seasonally, so if you arrive to your suite of rooms in the Winter months some of the storefronts will not be open. Sometimes, when there are extremely loud and rowdy people on the streets surrounding this WorldMark property... there is nothing that you can do... luckily there are people that have been able to scream back at the offending loud and rowdy people to shut them up. read more

Im not an owner but was invited to go on a beach getaway with my mom and her friend who owns part of this timeshare. I had a wonderful experience here and better service than any other high end hotel I have been to in SF/LA/LV. Wonderful staff, clean and beautiful accommodations, nice kitchen area to purchase food and make it yourself to save money ! I will say its very quiet for so many people visiting during the summer , you cant hear the people in the rooms next to you, which is great considering at most hotels you here all the unwanted noise from your counterparts. Very desirable location, next to all the eating and shops. Wonderful view of the ocean and steps away from the beach. The 2 downsides: Well, its the pacific Northwest, so you cant always guarantee it will be sunny. Unless its July or August you never know when there will be sunshine or a downpour. I would not come here in the winter since I don't find beaches that appealing in the winter. But then again I am from California, so maybe once I move up here I will get use to it. Hence why it is loosing a star. They pressure the guests of the owners into buying into the timeshare by getting you to come to a full service breakfast and talk you into taking out a loan that morning. I cant afford to buy this timeshare so when I visit, I will search craigslist to see whos renting it out. Cant wait to come back here :) ! read more

Stunning views!!!!! The beach is gorgeous the drinks are great . They are just perfect. Not too strong, not to light. They make it to where you NEED another one hahahaa! It's a chill spot. Not sure if they are neighborhood residents or if they are out of towners, but the people here are very sweet, and the employees are extremely helpful. They know their menu inside and out. This place is incredible! Definitely one of the nicest Worldmark resorts I have stayed at yet. It is right on the beach. Absolutely gorgeous. You need to make a reservation at least 5 months in advanced if you want a nice resort as this place is always booked up! I feel there is not much to do in this city besides play on the beach or go hiking. I feel the resort realizes this and created many activities to do inside the resort! They have a nice arcade room with pool tables and lots of other games. There is a decent gym. Amazing staff! A little store with all the essentials plus more. The pool is very nice and heated. They have color changing lights in the pool and hot tubs. I had the most fun staying in the resort more than exploring the city. I will absolutely stay here next time I am town. I can guarantee this is the nicest place to stay in Seaside. read more

If you are looking for a relaxing adult experience, this is NOT for you. This is a family with kids resort, the interior rooms overlook a pool filled with shrieking and running children. The resort does not monitor the behavior at the pool so guests must complain to have peace. The balconies look directly into other balconies but the views are lovely. The kitchens are good. Because the rooms do not have air conditioning, leaving the balcony door open with the fans going on warm days is the only option. So it's either noise from the pool or heat. I got to the hotel to check in at 4 pm and my room wasn't ready for check in until 5:30 pm after driving 8 hours to get here by 4:00. I had made the reservation a year in advance. Of all of the resorts I've visited, none has a more aggressive timeshare sales program than Seaside, beginning from the moment one is given the key to the room. To book a room at the Seaside timeshare in the warmer months, most often one has to reserve a year in advance. The window for modifying a reservation is one month in advance or you may forfeit your timeshare credits. Sadly, the homelessness problem in Oregon has found it's way to Seaside. The local Safeway is sketchy, do not go there after dark, a group of homeless people live on the side of the building. read more

Rooms are so limited that it is impossible to book anything during summer months. Seems pretty clear the entire club network is oversold. Too many members and not enough available units. My family and I have stayed here many times and love it. Awesome rooms with a full kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, nice amenities... My children love the pool and hot tubs. The sales presentations are great. personally i think it is a lot of fun to go to them and get lots of money and points for saying no thank you I have enough. It's fun to show them how I have plenty of credits and it would be absolutely foolish for me to buy more when I can use the ones I have to vacation 10-12 weeks a year or more. The Wyndham rewards points are really great to get. By attending these presentation I can now stay more places for free. Every time I go to a presentation and say no, have a lot of fun, and walk out with at least 2 free nights at any Wyndham property I feel great! I figure I am making at least $200 per hour for my time-sometimes more if I promise my wife not to drag it out too long. Maybe some of the other reviewers should stop whining and make it a fun game (none can force you to buy real estate-it's the law) you can have fun and get some great rewards much better than the $150 AMEX gift cards we used to get. The key is: when you get to the concierge and they want you to go to a presentation say no thank you and then hold out for at least 30,000 Wyndham rewards points-now you are the high pressure person not them-if they want you to go they have to pay-this makes it even more fun in the presentation. I love to tell them there is no way I would buy more credits when I can just go to these owner education workshops several times a year and get 2 more weeks of free rooms! Let them try to argue with that logic! Life is what you make of it!!! Why not have some fun? read more

Since I just visited another WorldMark, I have finally decided to write my recent visit to WorldMark Seaside. While I don't belong to WorldMark, I have friends who do and I was their guest when we were there about four weeks ago. I will say the WorldMark Seaside is a nice clean place. What I didn't like is that as a guest, I had to put up with the hard sell to attend their sales pitch to join even before we could go to our room. After spending four hours on the road, all I wanted to do was go to our room but NO I had to deal with the staff badgering me about signing up for the sales pitch. At one point they wanted my driver's license and I asked why. They said it was for the free gift I would get if I attended the sales pitch the next morning. I told them I didn't want the free gift, so I wasn't going to be giving them my driver's license. For some reason the staff couldn't understand why I wasn't interested in giving them my driver's license just to get the free gift. My experience would be much more pleasant if I could just check in without the hard sell to attend the sales pitch. read more

In 2011 we were looking forward to enjoying our retirement and a timeshare seemed a good way to do it. The salesmen always presented the offers in a very confusing way. We had to ask questions again and again and have them repeat their answers as we tried to get clarification on certain things. Sometimes we just gave up due to their inability to explain issues in a way we could understand. Every time we tried to book a vacation, it would mostly have to be when WorldMark had availability and not when we wanted too, even though sales reps always told us "with your point level, you should have no problem booking when you want", which turns out to be a lie and again being deceitful to try and make a sale. Anytime we were lucky to get a vacation scheduled, when you arrive, you check in and then get sent over to the owners desk to get your parking pass--THIS IS WHERE THEY GET YOU. You see this is where they will get you to sign up for an "owners update", which is never an update at all, it's just a way to try to pressure and defraud you into buying more points. They would always try to entice you by offering gift cards or vacation coupons. The coupons came with so many restrictions, it was literally a joke trying to book with them and the gift cards would usually be for between $100-$175, but that depended on how long you stayed and listened to the salesman try to pressure you. The sales presentations always lasted longer than the 60-90 minutes as promised; usually they lasted for two hours. We would end up leaving because the salesmen wanted us to sign statements about the cost of points in the future it we did not buy right then. They tried to stop us from leaving, wanting us to sign that statement. We never would. They were very nasty when we refused to sign. They always told us that our points would never lose their value, but if we are not able to use them the way the sales reps told us we could, then they are really worthless. On the other hand, the salesmen said our point level was insufficient to get the resorts we wanted so by buying more points we would have a "much better" chance to get where we wanted when we wanted The salesmen never told us that upgrading was mandatory, but they pressured us greatly to do so read more

Our family loves coming here, lots of things to do for teenagers. Rooms are always clean and staff is always friendly.

We are an "owner" at WorldMark and decided to take a couple days in October to relax after dealing with some family tragedy. Nice peaceful time at the beach. Which was promptly ruined by the staff at this resort. At most of these resorts at check in they also make you talk to another associate who attempts to get you to sign up for a sales presentation. They call it owner education, workshop, etc but the bottom line is they want a couple hours of your time to try and get you to do something. Went to one last year. Our associate when told we were not interested wanted to know why. When told just not he wanted us to "speak to his manager" (if you have ever bought a car you know that dodge). The manager asked us why not. Said just not interested. He got visibly angry and went on to suggest we were not smart enough to take advantage. When I raised my voice to say no again because it was really noisy in the lobby he accused me of yelling at him. He then tried to get my wife to disagree with me (bad idea) and when she told him he was being rude he told her to be quiet as he could only talk to one at a time. He was aggressive, rude and condescending all at once which I guess is a remarkable feat. But lousy customer service. When I told him I would report his rude behavior he yelled after me to go ahead and wanted to know if I wanted his name. Any establishment that would employ such unprofessional individuals is not a place I could recommend going. Seaside has a lot of nice hotels, avoid this one. read more

Probably the worst experience I've ever had on vacation. We rolled in kind of late about 9pm rented a movie started watching it. The other half of our famly was one floor above us we all came down for one cigarette before bed. Balcony was the only one not facing the wind and the rain.I know smoking is bad we're all trying to quit. But anyway then some butt hole in his underwear with his boxer flap blowing in the breeze. Wanted to fight us all and he Was screaming obscenities and at my wife about TV and other things and the wind was opening his Boxer flap exposing himself. I had my family and my young daughter. Also hanging out on the balcony. Maybe the TV was a little loud but i thought it was at a totally a respectable volume. The butt hole called in a complaint before going ballistic out on his balcony with his ripped boxers exposing himself. I was up to go to a meeting we were very interested in owning a timeshare and that property until then. I think we will get an RV instead thanks anyways. Any place with owners like that is totally unacceptable in my book. PS it was nice of them to buy us a breakfast. But it not worth it to me. With that vision stuck in my head. And the walls and the poor construction of the place you could actually hear people breathing in the next room. So maybe I can understand why he was so upset but that doesn't give anybody The excuse to act like that and swear at other people's family and exposing yourself. Unacceptable. That will be the final and last time I will ever stay at that establishment. read more
