I love every World Market I've been to and this location was no exception. It's so fun to browse and shop in this store specializing in unique imported goods from around the world. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and there was a coffee and tea sample section. I sampled the vanilla lavender latte and it had a very pleasant floral taste. I love the wide variety of cool furniture, home decor, and gifts throughout the store. My favorite section is their marketplace with absolutely amazing food and snacks from all over the world. There is especially an insane amount of Asian food, snacks, and condiments. Chances are pretty good that I'll find something I've never seen before like a clay yakitori grill, and red bean and matcha spreads. Huge shoutout to our cashier Marisol who was so warm and friendly. Waiiiit I was not aware of your game World Market! I literally had to stop myself at every section and tell myself I didn't need anything. I love the whimsical kitchenware and their furniture. If I could buy everything, I would. They carry a vast selection of imported snacks, alcohol, mini gifts, furniture, kitchenware, and more you could think of. My sister and I specifically stopped by to see their sardine section and shamelessly, we bought pretty much one of each kind. I came around 5-6 pm and the cashier was so friendly and knowledgeable. This quite possibly may be my favorite store to shop at for home goods, gifts, little pick-me-ups, fun ethnic foods... it just brings me joy to be in there! While it's totally unnecessary and often times they are out, the little mini coffee/tea bar with those mini cups when you walk in definitely get me all excited to walk around the store and spend money I don't need to spend. We have nightstands from there, our coffee table is from there, throw pillows... it's a place where you find things no one else seems to have and they're unique for sure. Their bath towels are my favorite! Whoever said large bath towels that weigh 5 pounds each and don't dry quickly (hotel towels) were ill-informed. They have cute and fun designs for theirs and I love them! My kids love their gift options for their friends and the ethnic food area. My son loves the ramune drink options in the back. Always something to find in there that is fun! People are super nice always and their pick up in store option is great, too. They have an excellent rewards program, too. Love this World Market...friendly staff and well-stocked merchandise. Food is fresh, and housewares are fun and unique. Only dings: bathrooms are usually filthy dirty, and the parking lot is difficult to get in and out of because you either have to try and cross traffic on Camelback to access the truck entrance on a bumpy slope or try to cross traffic on 18th Street with traffic coming off of the 51 that backs up into long lanes...grrr. read more

Employee Observation- The same woman who helped with online pickup and worked at the register had customer service issues. We walked to her register to be helped and told us to wait at the sign for waiting. An elderly couple went to her line directly and I did not hear her to tell the elderly couple to get into the line. So how does that work when there is no one at the sign. We were quickly helped by another employee right away to remedy the problem. The store has all the items needed. read more

A little history- my mom took me to World Market when it was Cost Plus -I have lived here my entire life and going for ornaments and advent calendars has been tradition... fast forward my mom is no longer here with me but I have still made it tradition to go in for my adult children's advent calendars- recently I went in and encountered their new management (I say that because that nice young man Sheldon was there for so long) so not the warm fuzzy I usually get when I go in -so I le- I called back to ask who I was talking to - turns out it is the new manager Sarah- I left without getting my kids calendars and ornaments ...I'll be ordering from Amazon this year. We recently installed a mantel over our fireplace and I was in need of some cool decor for it! World Market had just what I was looking for! I picked up some fake florals, along with the perfect bud vase with 3 tubes of varying heights. I have also been on the hunt for bathroom shelves, but needed a very specific size and I found some that I love! WIN! It is also definitely worth mentioning that I was very impressed with their safety precautions during COVID-19! They wiped down the cashier station after every customer, all employees were wearing masks, and they offered cart + hand sanitizer. I felt very safe! I love World Market for all things home! They have incredible kitchen items, along with furniture, chairs, candles, art, you name it. I also love making gift baskets using their unique food items, wine, and beer. The selection in this store was lacking despite there being tons of space here. My hypothesis is that they still haven't put the inventory on the floor. Everything was still in boxes. I love this store and usually find myself in the foodie section - they often carry things you can't find anywhere else. I love fancy chocolate bars and sometimes I grab fun ones like this Milka Oreo Bar. They also have these amazing rice noodles that I can't live without now. Talk about an extreme customer service moment! I found these great curtains here after searching for several weeks for the perfect option. Unfortunately they didn't have enough in stock and gave me directions to two different stores that did have stock as I needed them right away. One store in Chandler was amazing and sold me their entire stock plus the display, then I went to the Tempe store and had a miserable experience there with a "manager" called LeeAnn who refused to sell me their last two curtains. I went back to the Camelback location for assistance and Daniel went to the mat for me to not only convince the woman at Tempe to sell me their last two, but also to get the last of the stock from the North Scottsdale location (again including their display). Linda, another staff member at the Camelback location, went so far as to do a store to store transfer with her picking up the curtains in North Scottsdale since she lives nearby. This allowed me to complete the project on time and on budget! I can't speak highly enough for these two team members at the Camelback Cost Plus World Market. I frequent this place quite a bit as my gal loves shopping here. And they do have good products. (Wine, especially). But i don't rewrite reviews often unless something is really stand out... Bought a table yesterday that was already 60% off, it being the last one. As we walk to the counter, a young man is also walking up to give the lady working the register a break. As he breaks her, he gives another cashier some training tips. The guy's multitasking hard, but not breaking a sweat. Anyway, as we're checking out he goes out of his way to tell us it's the last day of the friends and family sale. He pulls up his phone, goes to the website to get a barcode, and gets us an additional 30% off. Tf. Who does that?? Sheldon does that. I don't have experiences like that often. this place and this company have been sliding downwards for decades. unfortunately earlier I. the week I placed an online curbside order. and picked it up the next day. the product (of which there were two) were defective and the lid would. it open. so today I returned them and was treated horribly. when I entered the store the first cashier was standing around talki to two other employees. I held up the bag and said, I have a return (so they would not accuse me of theft -- since the online order did not come with a hard copy receipt). the non-customer response was "you need to get in a line". a line, behind three chatty employees. I did. after quite some time one of the employees offered to assist me. but she could not reconcile the amount to refund. I had to wait for the manager who was not there. they struggled with it. questioned me where I got it. online. what store? this store. THEY DID NOT TELL ME because they are not caring for customers and obviously there is some unethical maneuverin, BUT THE WORLDMARKET.COM charged a sales tax of 9.55%. NOT 8.6% FOR THE CITY OF PHOENIX. BETCHA THEY DO THAT TO EVERYONE. AND THE SALES TAX FOR SAN FRAN, CA IS something like 8.62% so not only are they crappy at customer service they are OVERCHARGING for TAXES! read more
